    Travel Vlog #141 | Seward, Alaska | Kenai Fjords National Park #Alaska #Alaskatravel #alaskavlog #lifeinalaska
    Country 30/193
We're continuing our Alaska travels this week in Seward, Alaska! We set out from Anchorage after a work week, and made it to Seward by 8pm.
We came down to Seward for the weekend for one main reason - a Kenai Fjords National Park boat cruise! This boat cruise specializes in glacier and wildlife, and we could not have asked for a better day for either of those things.
We started out by visiting a class Alaskan coffee hut, taking some dramamine, and boarding our cruise. Almost immediately we spotted our first wildlife - Dall's porpoise and sea otters! We continued to see wildlife until we made it to Spire Cove, which is in Resurrection Bay.
We finally started our whale watching and waited for some Humpback whales to surface. We got lucky and were able to see a mom and her calf breach the surface!
After seeing some very angry looking sea lions, we headed across the gulf of Alaska towards Holgate glacier. If you're prone to motion sickness, I HIGHLY recommend taking dramamine or bonine.
After Holgate, we visited Aialik glacier, which is my personal favorite. This is part of the Harding ice field, and has a very surreal look with the reflection in the water on a clear day. There are also plenty of harbor seals nearby resting on pieces of iceberg!
After making it back to the harbor, we share our thoughts on Major Marine vs Kenai Fjords tours and which cruise company we prefer! You can't go wrong either way. This is one of the top things to do in Alaska, and for good reason! This is easily one of the best things to do in Kenai Fjord National Park, and for good reason!
Living in Alaska has been a dream so far, and we can't wait to continue exploring and sharing!
As always, thank you so much for watching and we'll see you in the next one :)

I’ve been running boats out of Seward for years. You are lucky, not many days are that beautiful! Normally it’s cold and rainy.

So what is the weather like mid June?

This is mid June! It was really nice for us, but it’s Alaska so it could either be 40 and raining or 65 and sunny 😂
