    Are Charity Shops Worth It For You & Your Reselling Business??

    A lot of the charity shops are selling the good stuff on line

    I'm not a reseller as such, but I do go to charity shops/warehouses, bootsales as often as I can but I only buy things that would sell for at least 10x what I paid. it doesn't happen often but it does happen, it's also the excitement of looking and finding the stuff.

    07.20 - While you were pricing the cutlery, there was a shot of a small Carlton Ware dish (Australian design "Windswept"). Depending on the price it is fairly collectable !

    Hi, I noticed in the past you sold singer sowing machines, what is the postage cost. Great content to your video's. Also Do you have to be registered self employed, when you earn over a certain amount.

    I started to look in our charity shops, in a row only one was selling things at a great price help the aged, the others right next to it were selling way above including bernardos ( just up the road is a main depo for Bernardos much cheaper), i think they are seeing what resellers get and try for the same but it is not working, because not everyone who uses the shops are reselling so they are loosing out in my mind. My sister lives in Sheffield and stainless steal was there fortay it is all closed down now, so maybe hang onto the cutelry set it will be worth a lot more later

    Usually if I have time, weather ok and im passing charity shops will have a look but never rely on it. A lot round my way just price items to high so items sit there for weeks and months.
    Odd charity shop has an arrangement that house clearance type people go in and get lots in backlog.
    I may find something once in a blue moon.

    They are worth it but does take some hunting especially for me in Central London. I have recently found a electric metre for £10 that I flipped for £75. Yesterday I found a New Balance Limited Edition London Marathon bag still sealed in plastic for £15 and sold it already for £50. I think I could've got more for it, think I underpriced it. Clothes in charity shops are really expensive in my area though, hard to find anything worth flipping.

    Depends on where you live, Chelmsford being a bit of a hole it doesn't prove as fruitful as out of the way affluent areas, I do exceedingly well in charity shops, and make full use of the 80% off sellers fees weekends that ebay run, which seem to be every weekend currently

  • @scottanderson7455

    In close on 3 months of searching charity shops in and around stockport i`ve actually bought nothing! Either the items are overpriced/in poor condition or just not worth the effort of flipping! I generally look for videogame related items/toys and shoes/boots. Small stuff easy to store.

    • @Andygb78
      @Andygb78 Рік тому +1

      I find that fairly affluent places that are on the edge of cities, or affluent small towns have the best stock. Sometimes some of the more obvious stuff might be overpriced, but I regularly find stuff to sell on. I Got five gamecube games for £1 each at the weekend at a charity shop in a small town. They thought they were DVDs, and because there weren't many people picking over the shelves, I was able to snap them up, due to the lack of competition.

    • @funkyphil
      @funkyphil Рік тому

      I'm just selling bits and bobs to make a few extra quid as I'm I've been on long-term sick due to neck issues. Mostly my own stuff I've collected over the years mainly Marvel and Star wars collectables.

    • @Andygb78
      @Andygb78 Рік тому

      @@funkyphil I'm just a part-timer myself. And source mainly from charity shops when I'm out and about. But I'm pretty sure you couldn't be full-time and source only from charity shops, as I go through the odd sparse period, sometimes a few weeks, where there isn't any decent stock at a decent price.
      But I think charity shops can be worth your time, if you're able to get to ones in decent areas. Otherwise they can be pretty disappointing, like you mentioned.
