Came here to say this.... @jono look up the amount of items that the US provided to the USSR during WWII. Then imagine them trying to win the war without those tanks, weapons, food, and clothing. I don't see how there's any other camp of thought on whether or not the US involvement was necessary for an allied victory. Without lend-lease, allied aid, and the eventual military action, it's highly unlikely the allies would have been able to overcome the axis powers.
I mean, there are people who say that Russia would have beat the Germans without the US, but those people do not include Stalin and Khrushchev. Both said that the USSR could not beat the Nazi's without the USA's lend-lease. (not to mention also taking care of the pacific so they weren't attacked from two fronts)
Stalin went as far as saying to Churchill and Roosevelt at the 1943 Tehran conference "I want to tell you what, from the Russian point of view, the president and the United States have done for victory in this war...The most important things in this war are the machines.... The United States is a country of machines. Without the machines we received through Lend-Lease, we would have lost the war."
Nikita Khrushchev later wrote in a memoir: "If the United States had not helped us, we would not have won the war... One-on-one against Hitler's Germany, we would not have withstood its onslaught and would have lost the war. No one talks about this officially, and Stalin never, I think, left any written traces of his opinion, but I can say that he expressed this view several times in conversations with me."

This is a terrible video that is historically inaccurate and actually makes the world dumber. To begin with, the US didn't sanction Japan for joining the Axis. The US sanctions were a result of Japan's invasion of Manchuria. Also, Russia would not have beat Germany... especially if Japan would have created a second front for Russia. But he fails to mention
The United States provided the Soviet Union with the following supplies during World War II:
    400,000 jeeps and trucks
    14,000 airplanes
    8,000 tractors
    13,000 tanks
    1.5 million blankets
15 million pairs of army boots
    107,000 tons of cotton
2.7 million tons of petrol products

I don't know whether you know or not but Germany and Japan had a pact I don't know where Italy was in the pack, if you know the horrors, that were perpetuated by the Axis powers, it was a war of domination! We in the United States get blame for being, overreaching, the We helped rebuild, Europe and Japan, there's a lot that this fellow did not say in his video, France fell, England would have followed, without the help of the United States of America Britain would not have been able to defend her empire against the advance of the Axis powers, and originally the USSR was on the side of Germany. So let's just say the world would be a completely different place freedom would not be exist today. Even though we are still fighting for it. ⛪👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🇺🇸🔥🤟

No Canadian and American soldiers were not sent over together. Canadian solders we’re in WWII on September 10, 1939!, as did most of the Commonwealth countries. We all fought under the Union Jack. So when you see mention of the British being here there etc. The broad term British included Canadians, Aussies, Kiwis,, India, South Africa, West Indies etc etc. Even though we were under the “ British “ blanket each country had certain battles that they fought as a unit. On D-Day the five beaches were: Omaha and Utah - the US, Gold and Star - Britain and Juno - Canada.

Canada was in both wars from the beginning. In WWI The US came in in the last 8 months of the war and in WWII ( which started in 1939 ) The US only came in when Germany declared war on them ( Dec 1941 ) pretty much the last two years.

I’m jealous that my kids can’t go to schools that are locked daily, with metal detectors, security guards, teachers carrying guns or am I jealous that as of 2024 13 American children die daily due to gun violence ( not including school shootings ). Maybe I’m jealous that despite pouring the most money into my health care system…..my country has the highest rate of infant, and maternal deaths, medical errors and malpractice suits in the entire industrialized world. No I must be jealous that my country’s food is banned in some 160 countries world wide……especially the beef ,pork and chicken. Could I be upset that my insulin only costs $28.00 and that exact same insulin is $300.00 in the US.
I am so jealous that our national pastime isn’t mass shootings and the national motto motto isn’t…… “ This isn’t who we are “. Also wouldn’t it be fun to have more of our own citizens incarcerated, than any other country in the world. I’m jealous that while US life expectancy is dropping rapidly, while other countries life expectancy is increasing. Of course one could go on forever, but I’ll leave it to you to fill in anymore jealousies we all have. By the way nearly every expert has agreed WWII would have been won without the U.S. It only would have taken a bit longer. The Nazis had already begun their retreat from Russia and other areas. They were running out of men and resources.

The premise of this question is sort of silly, both Japan and Germany declared war on the USA, we never had an option in joining or not. We just decided it was better to win than to surrender.

  • @tahliasgoddaddy
    @tahliasgoddaddy 4 місяці тому +3

They knew that in order to win in Japan without the bomb, the allies would have had to invade. The casualties that would have resulted on both sides would have greatly dwarfed the deaths from the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Troops would have had to go door to door and despite what this video claimed, the predominant belief at the time was that the Japanese would have resisted practically to the last man/woman standing. The emperor was considered a god. While allied deaths would have been terribly high, Japanese deaths would have reached astronomical levels.
That was the expert opinion in that day and I think they new better how the world worked in their time than so-called experts today applying modern day theory and sensitivities to an era they only know from text books.

  • @thumper7047

I don't know. Germany and Japan together were well on their way to defeating both China and Russia. Germany had to backtrack and face the allied forces in Europe (with America helping) whereas they might not have had to do that, Japan and Germany would have probably defeated Russian and China and Japan would have also defeated New Zealand and Australia as they already had the Philippines. Germany taking on just Russia or Just England would have won easily, they took on both at the same time and were handling it, but through the USA in the mix and suddenly Germany and Japan were both being bombed at home and could no longer put their attention on Russia. JMHO

FWIW - our friends and neighbors to our north (aka Canada) ARE America. There is South America with many countries and there is North America with a few countries. Canada is one of those in North America. When you say "America" that includes Canada. When you say "United States of America, then you are talking about the USA. Don't know how Canada started getting left behind. We love Canada even if they are a bit too far left atm. But the West in general has had the pendulum swing way too far left recently and a correction is coming IMHO.
