The Dark Dawn (Homage to David Ellsworth)
In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn an Ash crotch into a small hollow form.
This piece is my take on the "black pot dawn" series from David Ellsworth , without doubt my favourite woodturner.
when woodturning like this i like to nibble away at the work until I see what shape the wood wants to be, this is what i find so enjoyable about woodturning.

I’m my production work I only focus on traditional design, and showcase the best of our native woods here in the uk..
However this UA-cam channel is a way to experiment and play with every type of turning and finishing ( even using epoxy resin 😆) I started with the intention of make of things I love to make, and quickly realised this is actually an opportunity to explore things I always thought were awful ( like painting wood)
My thinking here is that others can see me do things and decide for them selves what things they like and what they don’t like. I feel it’s just as beneficial for
People to watch what they don’t like as much as it is to watch projects that inspire.
