For most people feeling this way, just try to start learning your cultures language, free and easy online. Give it a week and youll second guess its importance in the real world (bills, healthcare, housing) and throw your culture on the back burner where it belongs. Tough as things are nobody should be devalued for not worrying about such small things like traditions, essentially roleplay/dressup.

Serbski zmi we rozku spi.

Sorbian is a recent thing, what we now as "Sorbs" is a collection of numerous tribes named after the "Sorb/White Serbs" wich came after the Duchy of the Sorbs under Samo's Empire, however today's Lower- and Upper Sorbian speaking population where known after the respective tribes of the Lusatians and Milčenjo up until the Mid 19the century. Through the era of nationalism with the attempt of creating a Sorbian National Identity, "Sorbian" as the new ethnogenesis was born.
Lusatia is the region (wich includes Germans), Sorbs are the native people of the region and Upper-/Lower Lusatian are the languages.

Lusatia is the region (wich includes Germans), Sorbs are the native people of the region and Upper-/Lower Lusatian are the languages. Sorbians are a stateless national minority within the Federal Republic of Germany. In Brandenburg the term "Wends" is still used for the Lower Lusatian speaking population. Before nationalism, Sorbs were a collection of different tribes such as the Milčenjo or Lusatians, however were collectively known as "Wends" and later "Sorbs" - romantically based after the collective Duchy of the Sorbs under Samo's Empire. The mythological name of Serbia is of course based on a migrating tribe from "White Serbia" (Sorbs/Boiki), however this tribe never became autochthon, yet with Byzantine help managed to establish a sovereign Serbian polity in the Balkans within a sea of various Sclavonian tribes and maybe some Greek or Vlach speaking Romans.
The only territories the Sorbs today rightfully claim are municipalities within Brandenburg and Saxony (within the districts of Cottbus, Spree-Neiße, Oberspreewald-Lausitz, southern Dahme-Spreewald, Bautzen and Görlitz).

@@Judah132 Well, I would definitely love to visit one day places you meantioned,
we sometimes refer it as an old homeland, it would be emotional moment for sure. Plus I am also sure that many eastern Germans, Bavarians and Austrians have Slavic roots, even many Austrians(I am living in Austria) hvae Slavic or Slavic root in the last name. Now soeaking of Serbs(southern Serbs, Sorb in German tem, for Lustians and For us we call them Lustian Serbs, they call us Balkan or southen Serbs, we say Srbi, they Serby but we both use the same word for both). Now speaking of Serbs from the south,
after migration to the Balkans we were were actually accepted by Byzantine and got our early states , simply nothern border had to be protected from Avars, so Slavs were good for the job. And since we are here over 1000 years , I guess we can call it our lands.
Speaking of history, I don’t think it is as simple. Sea of Slavic tribes might make sense, but only two tribes mentioned by Byzantine are Serbs and Croats, now speaking of Serbs DAI by Constaninus Porfirogentit are main source, he defined this as a 1st Serbian states:
      upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/66/Serb_lands_in_the_10th_century_%28en%29.png
He wrote that people living in these states are descendants of Serbs.
      For example, few quotes:

The Serbs are descended from the unbaptized Serbs, also called 'white', who live beyond Turkey (meaning at that time Hungary) in a place called by them Boiki, where their neighbour is Francia”

Serbs also originally dwelt. But when two brothers succeeded their father in the rule of Serbia, one of them, taking a moiety of the folk, claimed the protection of Heraclius, the emperor of the Romans, and the same emperor Heraclius received him and gave him a place in the province of Thessalonica to settle in, namely Servia”

@@Judah132 So according to history settlers to Zachumlia(Zahumlje), Travunija, Pagania(Nerentania) , Dioclea(Zeta in Slavic, 1st Setbian kingdom later, and Serbia(Bosnia and Rascia) are descendants of unbaptized Serbs that came from Boiki rulled by an unknown archont(ruler).
Now speaking of origin, people mixed modern Serbs have verious genes in DNA pool, even Germanic, from Saxons, Goths, Normans etc
But DNA is older then nations anyway, and huge chunck of modern Serbia is not an original Serb land, it was colonized later, but here religion mainly made ethnicity century ago, Croats in Dubrovnik as you can see are Serbs ;)

@@SRBINPZS Historic texts shouldn't be taken 100% seriously as they are often over exaggerated by monarchs - especially when it comes to the movement of tribes. Genetics, linguistics and archaeology suggests that Sorbs didn't leave an autochthon present within Serbian society as the Balkans were already densely populated by balkanised slavs and there wasn't a major migration of Lusatians, just a minor chiefdom with probably less than 2000 people or so who managed to gain suzerainty through diplomacy - Sorbs should be seen as little more than a legend within Serbian history, but you should nonetheless feel welcome to visit Cottbus or Bautzen anytime soon.

@@Judah132 actually, by our dna autosomal, we seem 60% incomes from the north, 40% that were native, haplogrups are not objective, since they can change, they just reflects male line, we lost 1/3 of the male population in ww1, it can change % of haplogroups insanly, but also autosomal is tralala, all Europeans are bland of 3 ancient migrations to Europe, neolithic farmers, proto IndoEuropeans, and paleolitic settlers, only % is different. If you compare Swede to a Greek, they would have all 3 components in different %. Like I said , that is older then the groups in Europe. And actually in terms of DNA the most common among Serbs is I2a p809, they claim it is native to the Balkan, but it isn’t by new reasearches, they originate in the border of Belarus, Poland and Ukraine, and it came with a Slavic migration, branches among Serbs are 1500 years far from these among Czechs, so it corales that vi divaded as history said around 6th century. And Serbs/Sorbs original one, were probably Sarmatians that got assimilated, at least that is a theory about the name, Sorabi was some Sarmatian tribe.
