He's actually doing setups for those partitions, both of the dashups were after he threw a boom, which if you do it from down back resets both charges and the partition meter, so you can just charge as soon as you throw it, dash, and charge the rest to get either another boom or flash kick guaranteed every time.
The reasons I think he gets away with the cold blue kicks and why that move even works in general:
1- It has a very deceptive trajectory/speed and is active for a long time, there's not really any other move in the game that travels like it and it seems like it was designed to be really hard to try and parry, it can hit you in weird ways you're not ready for since it's so active and he's flying through the air (plus I think it counts as an air move so parrying it is already twice as hard)
2- There's not really any way to tell which version of it he's doing on startup, and they all travel drastically different distances and move him at different heights, so it just adds to the overall confusion of trying to find a clean answer to deal with it
3- All versions of it raise his throwbox to the top half of his body on the first frame, so it actually makes him invulnerable to throws for an extremely long time as soon as he does it, depending on when someone reacts and tries to throw him after he's already done it they'll probably be punished by it outright
4- Who the fuck labs against Remy, or has any experience or practice against a good Remy player? The answer, even among some of the best players in the world, is probably almost no one lol
5- Finally, and of course, Pierrot is fucking INSANELY good, he probably knows everything I just mentioned and more that I couldn't even think of mentioning, he's played so much goddamn Remy against all these amazing players and their busted characters that he probably knows not only every trick in the book in regards to his character and the game itself but every habit and tendency people have in all sorts of situations, but especially scrambles, which I feel like being good at is a skill 3rd Strike rewards very heavily and it's one of the hardest things to be good at out of anything in fighting games
There's a reason he used to go by Lucifer, he's kicking the hell out of you and doesn't give a damn about your -4 lmao

The dash Parton flash kick was the nail in the coffin in that set. The one thing Remy has going for him in the Makoto matchup is movement. His dashes and jumps are very mobile and add partitioning, you basically have Guile on steroids. Then add CB kick, you see why Peroit is the best Remy player due to using movement. Some of those CB kicks were safe due to spacing. My guess is the devs knew they created a Guile on steroids and decided to give Remy doo doo health.

Wait, does Makoto slp hit or trade with Remy slk?? Why is he throwing out slk against Makoto?? Is there some frame data I'm missing here. I'm starting to think the idea of charge partition is in the Makoto players head and he didn't want to get reaction boomed or flash kick after the lk.

@@rageflash9 I thought remys lp is one frame faster than his lk,I could be wrong but I still wouldnt do that to dash check her. She could easily Kara grab into game over lol I think remys best option would be lp into ex boom to keep her away

@@paulblankenship1146 no, i'm referring to standing low kick..i used it back in the day against the best makotos in my area to stop makoto's quick dash..and yes, lp is faster than lk as you can connect multiple lp with flash kick

@@rageflash9 I know you're referring slk to dash check her but up close I don't think that's the best option against a good Makoto player. From sweep distance I would agree cuz she can't do anything besides parry or do double rush punch thing. I forget the name sorry

      @rageflash9 4 місяці тому +1

@@paulblankenship1146 correct: it is done within sweep distance and it was one of the moves to neutralize her..she doesn't have the best footsie moves so you're okay..if she tries to grab you, that's where the lk cbk comes in..mix your low booms, crouching mp and standing lk within sweep distance to keep her at bay and guessing

Of course it have logic, is the same logic many PROS use to win tournaments with low tier characters in SFV(sakura, Nash, falke):
    a) Someone ask tokido in a stream how to get better in SFV, Tokido say skill alone can lift you at certain high only, after that the only way to get better is with reading skill.
b)* In a streaming Sako say this about his opponent "he don't know the matchup... if he don't knows the matchup there is nothing he can do"
    c) When a LowTierCharacterPlayer go against a HighTierCharacterPlayer the LowTierCharacterPlayer have the advantage of knowing the matchup and the HighTierCharacterPlayer have the disadvantage of unknowing the matchup.
    d) Low tiers characters are unpopular, that prevent players for master them and then PROs have no enough knowledge* to deal with mastered low tier characters.
    e) As that kick is super bad the opponent was not ready to predict such abuse much less deal with it.
