It’s worth mentioning that pre-pandemic when dining plan was still an option, most packages here in the UK would include the dining plan for free, which is why most people from the UK had it, for us it saved a MASSIVE amount of money because you’d hardly have to pay for any of the food, especially at restaurants
However, even from U.K., you can get packages without the dining plan that are way cheaper so that’s what I did cause the saving was way less than what I would spend in the parks
I just want housekeeping and a real blanket when I spend $750+ a night on a room haha Seriously, I just want them to treat CM's well and hire more so all of the experiences and restaurants can finally be open to the fullest again.
With the Dining Plan, my daughter and I were able to try more table service restaurants than we would’ve been able to if we were paying out of pocket during the trip. We also loved being able to use snack credits during the food festivals.
Happy Birthday JEN! May you have a most amazing day.❤
TIM!!!! You started singing and I joined in IMMEDIATELY!!! I used to love that show! The Greatest American Hero 😄 Now its stuck in my head.
Jenn you hit the nail right square on the head at 13:30. As a CM (former CM now) let me stress that the vibe was very different under Chapek. Honestly, I was one of the CMs that lost my job because of the pandemic due to being in a nonunion office… I was devastated losing my job. I was also shocked when one day I received a phone call asking if I wanted to return. I took the return but knew it would only be temporary as they wouldn’t let me be full time. However, I knew from day 1 back that I made a huge mistake returning as the company I once loved working for did a complete 180 in their treatment of guests and cast members. It was like falling down the rabbit hole into wonderland where everything that was right is now wrong. You weren’t even allowed to give guest service in the guest service department. Still makes me upset! Hopefully things will get better and maybe I’ll reconsider returning but only if the right position comes up and I no longer like where I currently work.
List of things Bob Iger purchased:
-Pixar
-The Muppets
-Lucasfilm
-Marvel
-Fox
Ultimately, the main difference between the Bobs is that Chapek is an analytics guy who cared mostly about efficiency. He believes in getting the most money out of the bare minimum effort. Iger is a Quality Guy who believes that if you keep people happy (talent, creatives, and customers), they will keep coming back and do better work. It's basically the difference between short and long term profits.
I work in an entirely different industry, and everything from profits to morale always goes down when you get an analytics guy in charge. When you view people as numbers, you start to treat them that way.
read the iger book, he is one of the bad guys, disney star wars lol
@@akydo7070 I didn't say he was one of "the good guys" or one of "the bad guys". (No one gets that position by being a good person.) Just that he has different business strategies and values.
My gf and I just stayed at port Orleans. Went to the Contemporary for dinner and browsed the stores. Poor cast member was saying she requested a day off for her 40th wedding anniversary, disney said no. Non disney buses for the resorts was also a bummer too. Little things like this I hope get fixed. Obviously genie + and dining plans too.
That “being off” thing has always been an issue. It’s nothing new. You really sign your life away to work for a place like Disney, even as a part time CM. Even if you find a coworker willing to cover your shift for you, management might still deny your request to be off. They’d rather you get points and the shift be uncovered then just allowing people to schedule off so they can still enjoy their family life.
Traveling from the Midwest we loved the Dining Plan for budgeting reasons. It was great to order off of the menu and not worry about the bill at the end of the meal or having to say no to the teenagers who wanted to order the higher priced items on the menu. We know we probably did not save any money as there were several snack credits that did not get redeemed and deserts that were never ordered that were included in the plan. We included the dining plan in our vacation package as a "feel good" option. It was awesome when they offered it as a promotion. Boy, do I miss those days!
Chapek literally never understood people who go to Disneyland. He never understood what it meant to be a guest. We all know Disney is expensive, but when he was talking about "maximising yield" constantly, it was belittling to every single guest and every single transaction. Iger's wise enough to emphasise what they are doing for the quality of the experience, not about the profit they can squeeze out of what they have.
Dining plan was fantastic for us. We booked a trip in November 2019 and then Disney release free dining. We redid our dates for later in November 2019 and got the free dining for 2 weeks, definitely can't beat that!
Tim! I met you at Disney Springs this day after getting your hair cut! I fan girled and froze up. You are such a nice guy. Thank you for chatting for a second, made my trip (after 5 years of visiting and searching) 🤣
Oh my gosh, nobody ever knows the theme to Greatest American Hero. It is my absolute favorite song and whenever I need to lift my mood, I sing that song and immediately feel happier. Thanks for starting live with that song!

Having a new animal is not in order to replace but to have their presence.
Besides, you never think you'll love so much or as mutch and finally... it's surprising...
Thank you for your lives...
I have think Iger has a more Disney vision, similar to Walt. It’s not about the money but more about the experience. That’s what Walt was about.
The thing about ddp was it was way more food than id ever normally eat, and it incentivized me to eat. Normally, out of pocket, I can easily be satisfied spending $35 a day, but there was novelty to having credits and feeling truly on “vacation” because we didn’t think about $ and it felt excessive in the most magical way. As a parent it allows them to say “yes” to a whole lot more. A snack to me on ddp is great, but im never spending $7 on a cookie otherwise.
I recommend waiting for a dog until boys are both out of diapers and maybe even when both are in school. You will have time to bond with the new doggie. 🐾❤
Yea, everyone forgets how hard it is to keep up with puppy training. It's like having another toddler in the house.
We went to the passholder's picnic at Busch Garden's a few months ago and the park president did say for sure they were waiting on parts for Falcon's Fury. Same with the skyway ride.
I'd rather have APs back for out of state guests than dining plans. We let ours lapse and can't repurchase now. I'm now working remotely and our plan is to spend time in FL in the winter. I just want to teach during the day, and go to the parks in the evening! 😭
Iger, hopefully, brings back the "magic". It's interesting that Jen said Chapek was rude to people. That is exactly what I felt the last time I was there. I and a few other guests got yelled at by a cast member for being a couple of inches outside of the yellow tape during the fireworks (it was pouring rain and I was trying to get under cover.) We were at the Christmas party and they parked us in the very last rows of the parking lot even though there were other spots closer because "this is where the party people have to park." (during a time when there were no shuttles). They jammed us into the Jingle Cruise so tightly that the guy next to us was literally sitting on my husband's lap. We never were able to get on 7 Dwarf Mine train without a 45 minute wait. I vowed I would never go back to a special event. (And I haven't even though we were going to bring our grandson this winter.)
Every time I used it..from NJ. It was a more convenient to know tips was the only thing necessary as it was all inclusive. For people who have to plan a year or more in advance all inclusive is a no brainer.
We would plan ahead where to eat and make reservations as soon as you can.
I was reading a report about the Starcruiser. It said attendance is very low.
They stated that there used to be double meals at different times but that has been canceled and there are only single meal times.
Also stated that there have been layoffs. They were showing the calendar and there were really low on reservations.
But I am not a fan for that kind of stuff so I dont know if it is true.
At $5000 per person it was never going to keep a high capacity long. But they should have room to drop the price which should help increase attendance. They should have no trouble getting people to stay at $2000 for two nights, but they will have to cut back the entertainment. They would have to make it more like a cruise and allow customers to do what they want without being stuck to a frantic schedule.
I feel like the congestion of the Parks is a direct result of the reservation system. There is no more free-flow between the parks with the 2pm restriction and the need to tap in first. The Genie plus feature with its restrictions built in, cause many people to spend less time in the rides, and more time mulling in the common areas. The rhetoric of we couldn't enjoy the Parks without reservation or Genie plus is an excuse that Chapek used, to perfection, to explain the reason to keep them, when in actuality, they are the reason for the congestion. It worked during 30% capacity. It no longer works.
When I was there in February and October 2022, one thing I noticed both times was that the bathrooms were so disgusting. In the past they were always kept up with.
So happy to hear The Greatest American Hero theme! Thank you for the smile!
this might be wishful thinking, but, specifically with Disneyland, I hope that Bob Iger might be able to fix/update the rides. A ton of rides were braking down when I was there over the summer and so I'm hoping that maybe he can start the path to fixing those problems. And like they said, making it more worth the price jump to go.
I think of Iger as a kinder man. For example, before the official announcement of the leadership change, he sent a message of appreciation to the cast members. It’s the little things like that they make me like him more. I wouldn’t be mad after two years that they put Josh DeMarrow (sp?) in charge. He has a more personalized feel as well Show love to cast members and then they enjoy their job which makes people happier and the money will come .
Brilliant live show so pleased I caught it so much fun 😀
I’m hoping the reservation system goes away too… so frustrating
You may not have the same connection you had with Bandit, but you will have a new special connection with a new pup. I've had multiple pups that have passed that I've had a special connection with, each one was different but special.
I can totally understand your feelings and another dog Jenn, we felt the same when our Lucy lab was gone, it took us 10 years before we got luna, but honestly I don't know what we would do without her, and even though they are the same breed of dog they are completely different, so I don't think you should be afraid when the time is right you'll know 😍🦮🦮
I think food quality improved with the Dining Plan ending. I truly believe the DP meant lower quality across the board, to save money / offset the plan.
Cruise insurance is a must! If you have a medical emergency it can cost close to a million dollars for transport back to the states! Not to mention your medical insurance may not be accepted in the country you’re in. Always get the travel insurance!!!
I totally agree he treated the guests as dollar signs and the cast members as disposable. Hopefully Iger can help change the culture back to magical feeling, people feeling valued.
I too have a lot of stuff happening this week! I'm heading to Disney World SATURDAY! So this week is all preparations (or prep as Iike to call it) and Friday and Saturday (before I leave) will be all packing!
Hello from Wales UK.
It’s 5.57pm here ❤
I work for Publix and this is the first year I’ve seen it. I’ve been with the company for 5 years
There is tons of information about the losses during Chapek run. Iger also had issues but like Jen said, he isnt Chapek.
Biggest issue is the devaluing of fans, and everything that has been taken away making fans feel cheated as prices rise and perks disappeared.
Make no mistake Disney is making MILLIONS of dollars BUT they have become super greedy and bought some questionable properties.
They need to appreciate the fans. And they need to treat their employees better. That will be a huge difference.
Employees have come forward telling about how employees have been mistreated, over worked and underpaid.
Do you guys realize that there are people paying for vacations but cant afford Genie and they barely get on any rides.
It has turned out to be that you have to buy it if you want to get on rides. We wont go anymore because the value is not there.
And the reservation system is ridiculous.
Losses of perks (not necessarily associated to Chapek):
Magical Express
On property extra magic hours
Pre paid tickets and discounts used when we decided (I used to be able to buy tickets at a discount a year in advance)
Tickets used to not expire
Free parking at on property resorts
Being able to drive your own vacation instead of a system telling you what you can do
Universal sounds like a much better cost effective vacation for families these days.
Bring the Disney Stores back for us to get the Disney Magic when we can make it to the parks. Bring back Magical Express also from MCO to the resort.
Talking dining plan from U.K. It’s sometimes included so you don’t see the price, also, if you are paying for it you can buy it in £’s so no exchange issues/fees etc.
Happy Birthday, Jen! 🎂
Starting out with the theme song from "The Greatest American Hero". Love it.
Also thank you for all the Wine Bar George recommendations. Fantastic place.
Hi from Madison wi! Doing the Bob Iger happy dance
I love going to Disney because it reminds me of the time when my mom was alive and we went as a family. It brings me great memories but with all these prices increased I haven't been able to go in years. I'm hoping they get rid of the reservation system, and also the genie plus and go back to the old way you could do fast passes. I also enjoyed the season passes even though I was stayed away I bought one so it would save us money on the hotel plus get all of our pictures. Now you have to pay for them all individually because it's all about the mighty dollar. I'm hoping he sees this is a family place and families need to be able to afford to enjoy it. They will still make plenty of money on the souvenirs and the food.As well as the special events.
Maybe people were asking about Tim's sache because Adam the Woo mentioned it in a recent video?
Also I recently went to DisneyWorld, (wish we ran into ya'll, been watching since 2015) and all the cast members were burnt out and not speaking nicely while "on stage". I don't know if I didn't notice it before, but it was very noticeable this time around.
Also also, happy birthday Jenn and Jackson!! Hope ya'll have an amazing day. Happy Thanksgiving!!🦃🦃
Also also also, you can name your little one Maximilian or Maximus?
Hi from the O’Dells in England 👋🏻 we’re heading to Florida for Christmas & NY!! What is a must do in WDW and Universal for Christmas & NYE please? We love you guys!
Well for Magic Kingdom I would say the Haunted Mansion and the Christmas lay over of the Jungle Cruise. Well for Chirstmas it is called the Jingle Cruise. If the line is not to long. Seven Drawves Mine Train. To relax and rest your feet for a while the Carousel of Progess and the People Mover. Its a Small World is relaxing and long. Just beware you will not be able to get that song out of your head. Also Pirates of the Caribbean. I think I listed most of the rides there. Give or take 3 or 4. My favorite rides in Animal Kingdom are Flight of Passage, Would say Kali River Rapids but that one is probaly down for refurbishment. Expedition Everest a Roller Coaster. Nav'i River Journey is very relaxing. Epcot. Mission Space Green side is not intense. Orange is. I can't recommend Guardain of the Galaxy Cosmic rewind since I have not ridden it. The ride inside of Spaceship Earth.. Hollywood Studios. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. If it was a freefall ride. It woud be called a drop ride. But there are extra cables attached to the bottom and the top. So it will pull the ride down faster down gravity can. I also have not been on the Millennium Falcon or the Risde of the Resistance. I did not like the Rockin Roller Coaster. Also did not wear new shoes. If you do you will get water blisters on top of water blisters. Also don't try to do everything in one day.
Yes The only way to save money W the dining plan was to always order the most expensive thing on the menu and make sure to use all snack credits. It's a convenience, not a money saver. People just want to pay up front and not think about money on the trip.
My guess is disney need more staff to support the technical aspects of dining plan and they are strapped in that department.
Hi Trackers!!! So excited to catch you live! (Second time!)
The dining plan is a money maker for them. It is not a lesser price because people usually don't use all of their credits. Look it up, it's factual!
For us, the magic of the dining plan was that it was prepaid. When you were "in the bubble" you didn't have to worry about something as bubble bursting as keeping track of a budget for food. I dont know that we actually ever saved money.
After returning to the parks a few times without the dining plan, we realized we are definitely timely saving money by not having it. Pre-paying for your meals was nice, but we always had extra credits at the end, and just bought some snacks to bring home. It just didn’t end up working out in the long run.
Happy thanksgiving!! And happy Birthday Jenn and Jackson
Dining plan was amazing and a main reason I don’t go back
In buffalo, New York has 6 feet on snow but I’m from NYC no snow, yet but chilly today, 42 degrees
Ann from PA, you get to go back to live streaming in the Parks. I'm a DVC member. So I;m glad Disney is going back to the were it was.
Hi!! Love you guys! So sad I missed you at IAAPA Tim!! Hopefully I can see you all at another major event!
Michael Eisner was the creative part and Frank Wells was the money man, when they were in charge. As far as Iger, fix the rides, bring creativity back, take care of castmembers. Hope y'all have a great night. Sorry I missed the live show.
Yes. Even if I had to pay $130 a day, I would buy the dining plan. Knowing that I didn’t have to continue to budget for food while there made the trip less stressful.
As a Disneyland Magic Key holder who lives out of state I actually like the reservation system. I know that I'm going to get into the park when I make a trip out there.
Hi just made it while cooking dinner from the UK it's 6pm! Love having you guys on xxx
I love how you talk about naming your baby bob. My husband always called my two sons bob, they’re names are Jon & nick😀
Travelers Insurance?…ask Kitra about that after her accident on the cruise ship when she fell and broke her ankle. It would have come in handy toward expenses.
After losing all four pets (3 dogs & 1 cat) within 18 months (age & cancer) It has taken me almost 14 years to be ready for a new pet. Unfortunately I’m not healthy enough at the moment. All to say, you will know when you are ready. No pet will replace Bandit, he was your heart dog. Someday you may be ready for a new companion. Don’t rush, I promise, you will know. Much love ❤️💚❤️💚
I wonder if they’re going to call their new baby Garrett? I think in the last show they said it rhymes with a vegetable or something which is close to carrot! Hahaha
Or if it rhymes with Jackson maybe Zack?
Lots of good options that rhyme with vegetables. Wabbage. Frauliflower. Stucumber. Brotato. All winners!
Ahhhh -2c....makes me miss Europe in winter. I woke up before 5am to 28'c (80'f) yesterday in Brisbane.
Tim's hair looks very different. I wondered when he was going for a cut. He's what we'd call a fuzzy koala butt in my family - where your buzz grows out a bit & gets fluffy.
Most food bloggers/ vloggers have said Disney made money on the dining plan. Most people didn’t utilize it to its fullest potential.
Because I missed the live show…
If you get another dog, don’t think of him as a replacement for Bandit. Also, as an early childhood educator, having kids grow up with pets teaches them more about compassion, empathy, and responsibility more than we can show them ourselves. BUT definitely get a puppy only when you’re ready.
Also, I like Max for a name! Maybe make it “Maxon” just so you have rhyming babies. 😂
In regards to Bob Iger, I agree that he won’t change anything that Chapek put in, but I think Iger will focus on the creative again. Perhaps, even re-hire the Imagineers that they’ve laid off. Also, Iger, like D’Amaro, is just more charismatic.
Happy birthday on Thursday Jenn.
Just got done work this is awesome!
hopping after 2:00 needs to go! AP sales need to return.
Finally made it on a live show! Busy time on the last cruise. Can't wait to see your new baby!
I feel like they would not have offered the Dining Plan for so long if they didn’t come out on top. A few things to note - restaurants that were in the signature tier “cost” 2 table service dining credits, unless you order the most expensive things the table service credits wouldn’t break even, and at its most expensive it cost our family of 5 almost $600 (for 3 table service credits and 2 snacks) a day since our kids are too old for the kids pricing.
I think you should pluck the few Grey hairs under your nose. Maybe it's just me but it's distracting and was very noticeable in the last cruise video.
Would love tables in wonderland and package delivery to resort, use to buy more. Maybe it's better if it doesn't come back 🤔 lol
Would like to see Iger get rid of Genie+ and bring back maxpass - had better options. Great vlog guys ❤️
We are all walking on air today! Welcome bk Iger!
I miss Greatest American Hero. But I did get to see the actor that played Ralph at Pensacon,
Alaska Disney cruise sounds amazing
Jenn its my birthday on Thursday too 🎉 but i am much older than you 😂 I am reaching the big 5 0 !!
Happy Birthday for Thursday from the UK 🇬🇧
Happy 50th birthday Michelle! 🧁🥳 My birthday is also on the 24th, but I'll be turning 37.
My guess is people are leaning DCL bc it's the old magic of Disney: 24/7/top to bottom classic & modern Disney immersion, Disney service, Disney quality, controlled environment, "pre-paid," hassle-free, predictable--everything that gives that magical feeling.
I hope that he gets rid of park ressies, LL/G+, & limiting past perks. I would love to see EMH's at night for ALL resorts back, dining plans, & FP's.
Don't forget about charging for parking at a resort when you are staying at one of their resorts.
I understand your feelings towards getting another pet. I lost a pet as well. A cat. But don't you think it's a bit selfish not to give your children the joy of growing up with pet?
Revamped or reintroduced fastpass system
do you remember the “BOB Wehadababyitsaboy” 📞 Geico commercial?? 😅
“It’s a telephone!” -Jackson
If there is a problem with capacity at the oarks...they should expand...villains, marvel...etc
To get a rough estimate of degrees C to F double it and add 30
Love you guys!!!
I’m just hoping they bring annual pass sales back
I'm a huuuuge Dr Who fan and I'm so excited now with Disney coming in board with it. What do you guys think? Altho I do t think you 2 are big DW fans but that's ok, you soon will be lol 😂💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
They only have the streaming rights for outside the UK, it’s still owned and produced by the BBC.
The Power of the Doctor,” the BBC announced that the adventures of incoming Doctor Ncuti Gatwa in season 14 will be streamed internationally on Disney+. However, The Telegraph has found that the deal doesn't just involve streaming rights but also production support.
They're also partially financing future series and episodes, Bad Wolf Production still own and produce it and RTD is the creator and writer but Disney do have financial input altho they have no legal sway in any other sector of it
Happy Birthday Jen! Our Birthdays are 1 day apart. I'm the 25th.
Love your live shows!
What are some good options for Christmas dinner around the parks area possibly not in the parks
Was just landing in JFK from Dublin when this started so missing it now.
Desert hot dog idea. Choux pastry, nutella, bananas, toasted hazelnut on top with a light salt
It is hard to say because things don't always happen quickly so one ceo may start something and another one finishes.
I hope iger will coach ans seekout someone who sees the vision. Obviously Bob c didn't hit all the goals.
Igor may not have had all the ideas but he supported those who did.
I have friend with dvc who complain that their benefits were cut back.
We also need to remember that the parks is only a % of disney.
Hello from Knoxville Tennessee!!
Chapek only cared about the money, Iger cared about the quality and experience of Disney. As a DVC member I’m sooo glad Chapek is gone! Hopefully Iger will restore the Disney experience as the focus and do away with Chapek’s disastrous policies. Fix the Genie+ crap and make it more like Fastpass.
Love live shows! I’m with you Jenn - I like how Disney makes me feel. Just the optimism of Iger returning is good for the Disney Company.
Hotdogs are good at baseball games
There's no discount for the DDP
Tim I totally agree with you about prices and other stuff but people have to remember thing aren’t going to happen overnight
Tim's hair does look different, but it's comparable to us girls doing our hair or not. It's fine either way, but we feel more put together when it's done. Starcruiser is not doing well. Glad Bob is gone, and Bob is back. Hoping the vibe changes and if it doesn't, I'll wait to visit when Universal's new park opens. Based off your personalities I think the baby's name is Blake or Sage. Just my guess.
