What happened to the Camaro build? You guys got as far as doing the rear flairs now a new build I was really liking that build! Has it been put on the back burner 😢
Unless I missed it, looks like he forgot to measure carrier bearing (total) preload. To me, that is the more difficult one to set and just as important since carrier bearing preload prevents the ring from pushing away frim the pinion under load.
Sometimes you just got to do it. Safety shmafety the gear noise goes away. Eventually all at one time followed by about four seconds of tires screeching depending on how fast you were going. After that quiet as a mouse forever.
@@jasonmorales1846 true and some don't know the difference between a Tahoe and a Blazer. Tahoe has 4 door's and a Blazer has 2 door's. Hell I'm old enough to know. Some of the older blazer's had a removable top and that's why they were called a truck. I've got an 1983 k-5 Blazer. But some folk's knows more than us old people. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great vlog guys, very informative. True, but these days I would much rather use oem vs the cheap “new” hardware. Can’t tell you how much new stuff I’ve had broken off. If it cleans up nice and isn’t mangled I have no problem re-using it.
paying attention to how you take a drum apart? its a gm drum. the design hasnt changed in what 60 plus years, if you've token one apart and reassembled congrats you've done almost every version of gm drums.
@@19chev81 yeah I wonder what I could have done in my younger years I used to work out in the front yard on my cars put them up on Jack stands it's hard using a jack hoist or and engine hoist in the grass lol
@lyndelllyon754 yeah definitely. Ive been working on a 51 chevy alot just on Jack stands in the garage...a hoist would make everything so much easier rather than crawling around on the floor lol
When servicing any vehicle on a lift, why do you guys work over your head? Ergonomics are at stake for filming is my guess but I would not remove a wheel from a Yugo at face level. Still, love the videos!
No pinion depth check, and crushed the sleeve too far. .010" play is already at the very end of the spec, and it hasn't even seen the road yet. No worries though, the torn axle seal will run the bearings dry in no time, and they can rebuild it right the next time.
Not feeling this at all.....WHY would you stick with drums in the rear when you go through ALL the trouble to disassemble this?????????????????? Yes the rear diff. too...... Seems like BS low buck TV to me....😕
Watch Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/kJluvYzwM_k/v-deo.html
I put in a tru-trac and disc rear brakes on my 1991 GMC 1500, what a difference in braking ,and no more one wheel spin .
What rear disc conversion did you go with ?
Absolutely outstanding!
😮😮😮.... Def need a Personal class, maybe several demonstrations on how to do the rear end thang...
Love it!!! Thank you for the video!
I feel like this tahoe belongs to some lady Jeremy is trying to bang...
"Sure, I'll fix your crappy truck if you'll have dinner with me."
I wonder why they never add a drain plug for the rear axle?.. or the automatic transmissions for that matter..
"Lifetime Oil" Lifetime of the warranty.

This reminds me I need to look over my jeep diffs front and rear
Good information
Put grease under the washer and pinion nut before tightening it up makes it a lot easier
The drums never come off that easy.

yeah that was a good episode
Using a metal scraper for gasket removal is usually a no no
It was ok for that, the surface was steel. If the surface were aluminum, you are correct, it would have been at risk for damaging the sealant face.

Only up to 97 has serviceable pump, 98 has whole fuel pump module.
What sux is that's actually a new gen blazer but they call it a Tahoe.
tahoe was in between a blazer and suburban.
They also call it a truck which it's not!
@@jasonmorales1846 it's built on a truck frame. it's a truck.

For the love of God, why would anyone ever re-use all of that crusty old brake hardware, when it's maybe $5-$7 for a bag of new springs etc....?? 🤦
If it isn’t all rusted out there’s nothing wrong with it. You use old bolts don’t you?

Yes...they are mentioning it because someone might be doing their own for the first time...
Rather than paying abunch of money for different kinds of “setup” bearings just modify & use the old bearings as setup bearings.
More than likely old bearing are worn and out of spec. Use new bearings as set up bearings.
Don't buy new tires, just wrap them in Duct Tape...
You guys make it look so easy
It really isnt hard. But definitely easier with a hoist than on jackstands

They failed to mention anything about pinion depth.....
That's what I was thinking
My first wife had a ragged out rear end....
That happens when you try to stuff 9" parts in an 8.5" rear. 😂

15:10 tore the axle seal.
Yikes 😣😣
No, he didn't. That orange on the outside is paint on metal. The seal is black rubber on the inside.
@@catsaregovernmentspies the orange part is part of the seal.

Flip the tires around the white letters look stupid!

Chinese parts for you chevy😂.

That axel seal isn't gonna last long tearing it, didn't even lube it could ha just used a small dead blow to install it.
It wasnt torn....the orange is the paint not the seal
