    I had there most expensive battery. The battery was showing fully charge. The day before my tournament it was dead dead. I was shock. After two weeks of use. I call the company they said it needed to be restarted. When threw the procedure still dead. I sent it back for a full refund. There 50amp ok for trolling motor. The 125 Amp don't bother or check it often. I ran two 15 inch solix, one Garmin 12inch one Lowrance 12 unit. Plus 360 mega and Garmin livescope. Then boat live well it couldn't handle all of that as some people say. May need a 5th battery just for units only.

    That’s the kind of review I have been looking for . You have convinced me to buy lithium. I fished yesterday on a river and fought the current all day and limped home on a dead battery. Can you suggest a battery size for my boat,it’s 15 1/2 foot aluminum bass boat StarCraft with a 12 volt 40 lb thrust minn kota troling motor . My fishing day is about 8 or 9 hours long

    Don't know much about these new batteries but they seem to be the way to go. I thought you couldn't use one for a cranking battery? I saw somewhere that Mercury Marine doesn't recommend them for their engines.

      The ionic opposed to other brand name lithium are a safe option to use as a cranking batt as well!

    Do you have a Power Pole Charge or any on the GO charging? Or is this usage data STRICTLY on the 50ah batteries as a stand alone while fishing?

    Do you see a problem with running live scope and 360 on the cranking battery

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  2 роки тому +1

      I personally decided to isolate my 360 and livescope to a seperate amped outdoors 32ah battery. You can run them off your cranking battery but I took preventative measures against any interference or power issues by isolating them. Livescope and mega 360 are power sensitive sonar components. You can give it a shot and if you are experiencing any difficulties, you can consider isolating power for them.

    It seems that most pro fishermen use 36 volt trolling motors. What kind of performance would you get fishing a 24 volt trolling motor for an 8 hour or longer day in 15 to 20 mph wind?

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  3 роки тому

      That is a good point. I have never used the 50ah batts on a 24 volt set up. I do have a small jon boat that is full electric for long island ponds. For that i am still using the big everstart batteries. I have heard that the 100ah ionics are more ideal for the 24 volt set up. The llittle 50ah batts are made more for the 36 volt set up. They will surely work in 24, but the 100ahs will put alot more hours in.

    How much better did your boat handle with the weight reduction? Does she sit shallower in the water? How was the hole shot?

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  3 роки тому +2

      The handling is great but it was also good before i had the Lithiums as well. (I have a hydraulic jack plate that helps alot!) Phoenix doesn't mind the weight in the back, but now i can whip-turn the boat even faster. Yes she does sit more shallow in the water which is also awesome to compromise for weight of a co angler in skinny waters. Hole shot was decent already because of my hydraulic plate but now even better. All benefits 👌
      One thing to pay attention to is how heavy you load the front of your boat. If your front is very loaded and your rear is super light, you will not hit your desired max speed. Balancing a bass boat is a key element to good handling.

    Do you like the Talons? There is a local guy selling the 12 ft models for a very good price and I am temped to buy them. Especially since my 99 Triton TR21 doesnt have much room in the back for pumps. I am also thinking about upgrading to lithium TM batteries. I have an 80lb Fortrex and with group 31s 210 reserve capacity I run them down to about 30 percent every time I fish. I may buy 2 100s but I really wish I could get away with 2 50s. The max amp draw of the fortrex is 56 so buying a 50aH probably isn't smart

    Have you had ant problems with the lithium starting your engine ?

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  3 роки тому +1

      No problems what so ever. I have talked to some service centers and they have noticed a considerable amount of issues with lithiums cranking. Fortunately the ionics are the one brand that have not had any issues. I can vouch for that personally from experience. Also note that i have a merc 2017 pro xs optimax 2 stroke. That being said, the bms system must really be on point because i haven't heard of issues with cranking the new 4 strokes either.

    What are you running your trolling motor on speed wise? I have a 80lb thrust 24v on an 19ft aluminum boat and I can't get more that a day out of my 2 ionic 50ah batteries. I got off the water the other day after 9 hrs and only had 7% left. I average about 20% left after a day of fishing.

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  3 роки тому +2

      The speed i run always varies depending on wind and current. The 50 ah batts do much better with holding life capacity when you run 3 on a 112 pound thrust.

    Hey Dk do you leave your batteries charging or do you charge the night before you go out fishing. Because the manual for Ionic batteries claim you can leave their charge plugged in continously.Thanks.

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  3 роки тому +1

      Hey, i have looked in to that a bit when making the switch from wet cells and agms. When using wet cell of agm batts you get in a solid habbit of keeping them on the charger 24/7.. However with lithium it is more recommended that you just charge them prior to use. There is no reason to have them hooked up to a charger 24/7. If the manual says you can, i would not disbelieve that, but i have been in a steady habbit of charging the night before i fish.

      I actually called Lithiumhub today with that same question. They said you need at least the 100AH battery for cranking. It has a higher peak discharge rate than the 50AH. My application is for a 35hp Mercury (1969)

    Why does you app show five batteries but have five batteries in the boat

    • @dktourfishing
      @dktourfishing  3 роки тому

      The app is displaying 4 batteries. The top bar is a search bar incase you want to specify search for a specific blue tooth battery. I do have a 5th battery. It is a seperate little amped outdoors NMC lithium solely for 360 and livescope sonar components, however it has no display on an app or anything.
