- In a world often divided, the story of Cindy Tutko and a kind stranger at the Atlanta airport serves as a heartwarming reminder of the power of human connection. When Tutko was struggling to reach her gate due to a limp, an unexpected offer of help arrived. David Begnaud has their story.

Michael said it, this should not be news but this is the world we live in. Kindness is a universal language
Exactly-
So true! I wondered why it was even news in US, It's common here in Europe!
That LA gentleman is right. It's sad that, in this society, a random act of kindness makes national news. Sad.
I liked how he went the extra step, making sure she was taken care of by getting Cindy the airplane first because of her condition. He treated her like she was his mom. Beautiful story!
“Be a human being.” Well said!
CBS Mornings, you're giving a sip of water to parched people in the desert. We're so thirsty for good news in a media ecosystem filled with bad news. I always look for David's pieces because they're so uplifting. Thanks!
💯💖
I agree!! His stories r very uplifting!! So r Steve Hartmanns On The Road!
A True southern gentlemen ❤❤❤
Great example of Humanity...Blessings to All!!!
What a Gentleman❤Wonder why they didn’t ask airport personnel for a wheelchair? She was more than justified needing one😊
Excellent! People can actually be GOOD people! 👍
Love him! Be a human being ❤❤❤
This is my mom, that says it all! ❤
I love stories like this. What a kind man.
He is so right just be a good human being!💜
*right! Just (to fix your run-on sentence)
We need each other 🌍🌎🌏
I believe they will be friends for life!
bless him what a kind man
I once shared my walker with a woman in church who had a mobility issue. Helping others had been part of the priest's homily. My son-in-law told me I had followed his homily and I said, "Huh?". I didn't realize what I did.
But, my favorite story was when my dad was on his way home from work. He had arrived there that morning and was told his dad had died. So, on his way home, he saw a woman on the side of the road with a flat tire and 3 kids in the car. He pulled over and changed the tire. He realized that the 20 minutes it took to change her tire wouldn't bring back his dad, but it put another family safely on the road. I've always been proud of him for that.
What a beautiful story. Faith in humanity is restored. Thank you, Michael.
Humanity at it's best. 😊😊
*its (possessive pronoun)
it's = contraction of "it is" or "it has"
All contractions have apostrophes. possessive pronouns never do.
How wonderful to see a story of a stranger helping another stranger with no thought of reward. And how sad that such a sweet story has to be newsworthy.😢. We should ALL be ready to help someone we perceive is in need.
What a heart warming story ... ❤️🩹
What a lovely lady. And an amazing young man for helping her.
The good you do really returns to you❤
My own airport connections…..I do not like escalators…..so every time a approach to go down, I simply look back, stuck my hand out for help, and every time a fellow passenger would come by and takes my arm and support me going down the escalator….it happens quite regularly…..kindness and love in a world we need it so much
Assistance with a wheelchair can be requested of the airline during or after booking. I do it and it’s a great help!
Fabulous story well told. Gave me tingles and tears. I love how gracefully Gayle King won't be interrupted and then, after she speaks she pivots to include another. Master Class on kind assertion. She stands for herself but not against another. Powerful piece in so many ways. 🙏🏽❤
That's so nice!
I was watching this while posting it on facebook people now days not care about kindness 😢
It is in every one of to be kind and wise. Find your hearts open up your eyes. For everyone’s sake. Plus it lifts your own soul when we are kind and helpful. Serving others is what we are here for.
*of us to

We need more stories like this 🙏
As a solo world traveler, I have encountered so many kind people who went out of their way to help me with directions, especially in towns all over Turkey, during my 3 weeks travel.
I would have done it but that's how I was raised take care of those who need help
Y’all are trying to make me cry! I won’t do it. Be strong. 😅
🤣 same! But they got me!
Yeah, well, can I share your Kleenex box please?
We were waiting for our plane and a stranger began teaching our children how to knit while my husband was playing the guitar for her. She said she was going to get something to eat, and then she left. Time passed, and our plane began boarding. We sprinted through the terminals looking for her until we found her and we all made it back just in time.
I'm really glad this stranger helped this woman. Even if she didn't have a limp or a brace, being older and having to walk a long way is much more pleasant with someone thoughtful enough to carry her bag and selfless enough to join her on her journey. Being from the suburbs of Chicago and walking through O'Hare myself over the past several decades, I'm sure-whether she was familiar with the layout of the airport or not-that it was a comfort to this woman simply to have someone encourage her that she was almost there as they approached the gate.
As an aside, there are many people who only tell people where to go or what to do when they appear to need help. That's why I like shopping at Home Depot. Like this man, the workers there ensure that we get to what we need.
Thank you for this story. Yes, Louisiana is backwards in some ways, but lots of Good people. Thanks for sharing this sweet story. Kindness should be natural.
I love this story! Good people deserve good things!

Great story! Well done Michael🙏👍🏼
So simple and so kind!
Great story and I too had to walk the concourse that day, it was awful and a very long walk. No one told anyone the trains were down 😢. It was crazy .. and I was heading home to Louisiana myself. I’m glad she had help, I’m sure if I had connected with her.. I would’ve helped her too ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful person. I hope he inspires others. ❤
Kindness is good
Wow! Such a sweet story.
David knows how to find these beautiful stories like the hopeless romantic Steve Hartman😂

Good sent you an angel ❤
I love the Cajuns! Good people there In Louisiana! I can always tell by the voice. My parents were born and bred and LA. Love this story!
Good going!
Awesome 👍
Yep, this is what our society should be like, with people helping each other, not with 12 or 13 year old carjacking people at gunpoint.
Kindness is a very overlooked manner - I have taught both of my boys to stop and help people - something as simple as putting groceries in their car, or reaching something off a tall shelf in a store - the Bible says in Hebrews 13 “you may have entertained Angels unaware” - be kind and just be a good human being
Warm story
Not sure if I would walk the entire airport with her, esp. if I had my own flight. But, I definitely woulda walked her to an airport employee / gate and helped to coordinate wheelchair or cart transportation for her.
We need more Michaels! ❤
We rise by lifting others. But don't most airports have wheelchairs for seniors who have mobility issues?
You have to request it when you book your flight
@@tedrinaboone6800 You can actually ask at the desk without pre-booking. You might have to wait quite awhile (heck, you often have to even if you pre-book). My guess is that it would have been forever if the trains were down... too many people might have needed them.
I think she benefited more from a kind stranger than she would have from someone whose job it would have been to help her.
It's sad that this is so uncommon that it's considered news
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!!
Great story. What a Gentleman. Michael kind of looks like Luke Perry (alive and well) no disrespect.
Southern gentlemen ❤
Yes!
"It is important to take care of others even if you don't know them" how beautiful to hear in the US.
But why did the poor lady not book a wheelchair?
I recalled the only time I was connecting in Atlanta in 2017 with only 25 minutes, I was able to get a golf cart to my terminal
Yes, sad that being so empathetic makes the news…but here we are. Southern men rock
Why didn’t the son call ahead to the airport, knowing that his mom was disabled, ask for her to have a wheelchair or assistance? Thank God Michael was an angel in disguise!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.... I'm reminded of this quote.... 💚 💙 💜
“Research has shown that a simple act of kindness directed toward another improves the functioning of the immune system and stimulates the production of serotonin in both the recipient of the kindness and the person extending the kindness. Kindness extended, received or observed beneficially impacts the physical health and feelings of everyone involved.”
- Wayne W. Dyer

if people can put down their phone and look to be a helper the world
would be a better place. as a health provider i feel we have practice as a helper. but every day people dont exercise that helper muscle. especially as more and more people are on the phone
Praise God for kindhearted people who help others.
Michael’s act of love and kindness reminds me of Jesus words…
Mark 12:31And the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Luke 6:31 Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.
Her leg looks so painful 😢
One hand, into another! 🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝🖖🤟🤘☝️👈👉👌🤌✌️🤞
It took them 55 minutes to go from concourses C to F. They didn't have to walk all that way- they could have gone down beneath the concourses and taken a train from C to F. That train has been in that terminal since it opened in 1980- a lot of time and exercise could have been saved.
The trains were not running that day
Lovely story. There is a little thing called wheelchair assistance. Though perhaps there was nobody around.
❤
