Alright time to clear stuff up because people want to fight:
    1. People are saying that the "all martial artists must be Asian" thing is a harmful stereotype that is perpetuated by characters like Lin Lie because it's too common. However, I can name very few mainstream comicbook characters that are Asian and have a focus on martial arts other than Shang-Chi. Lady Shiva? Cassandra Cain? Lol. I don't why people are so insistent that this is a burnt out trope when it makes sense that a character that is extremely proficient in martial arts is from Asia (where we can assume martial arts would have richer history and deeper culture). I'm obviously talking about the comicbook landscape rather than any other medium. If you have one single Asian character in a film franchise and his main purpose is to be a martial artist, then yes, that would be stereotypical. However, I'd argue that's different from a legacy title being passed down in a world where there are plenty of Asian characters that do other things. Who do we have in comics in terms of mainatream martial artists? Richard Dragon, Black Canary, Black Panther, Wildcat, Batman, Taskmaster etc. Many characters known for hand-to-hand combat aren't Asian in Marvel and DC comics.
    2. To people who are adamant that there is nothing wrong with Danny Rand's creation, even when looking back at it now: If the story was instead set in Wakanda, Danny Rand was orphaned and was raised there, and gained the title of the Black Panther, do you still not see the issue? If you don't, then feel free to argue your points to any average IQ adult in real life and see how that goes.
    3. I know it might be ironic of me to say this but it's not that serious people. These characters aren't real. No need to claim that Asians are being tricked by this change and being suckered into Mickey Mouse's tit and only YOU can see the strings. Trust me, we know that companies want more diversity, you're not special.

One issue with the 2nd point, that exact thing happened. A white kid gets adopted by tchalla father, later on becomes the white wolf, the leader of wakanda police or special forces (i forgot).
He did become a villain because the usual i deserve better plot line and tries to kill BP, but fails and died on a volcano (i forgot).
BP as a title is an inherited power from Bast, for a random guy to just appear and be BP wouldn't make sense. Meanwhile Iron fist isn't specifically passed down to members of the same family/race/royal family, but whoever is worthy by i think the Thunderer or the guy that guard the gate in current modern comics.
Hulk and Thor had received training to become Iron fist though they didn't get the actual powers.
And Lin's Iron Fist doesn't actually use the same power as Danny's (the dragon thing) but rather from the Sword shard (which to be fair, comes from the dragon too i recall).

Before he made it to K'un Lun he was a rich bratty kid, he was ignorant about the ways of the world. It was through his training that opened his eyes about the world, and other cultures. The title of Iron Fist is earned not by race but by your CHARACTER. I mean Danny in the comics gave away ALL his money and assets when he learned where he it came from.

It's also pretty derivative to make every matrial artist asian. There's martial artists in every country and Asian characters can do more than throw kicks. Let's broaden everyone's horizons and not get stuck in this tired old stereotype.

At the end of the day, Danny was created to be Iron Fist by Marvel because he was White. Whether ppl want to admit it or not, he’s literally a version of White affirmative action. Placed there so white readers interested in Asian culture could feel represented. Not to mention, the white guy in foreign land trope. I have no problem with that… but what I do have an issue with is White ppl feeling entitled to these mantles, and yet ironically- crying when a live version of The Little Mermaid is Black.
It’d be considered woke if they made Thor another race, yet some White ppl have no issue with how many movies/shows they themselves have whitewashed or rather, inserted themselves in a place in history where there were either none or very very few.

Different communities and cultures are gonna have different outlooks on these things, we puerto ricans hardly have any representation so we appreciate Miles way more than Peter. While there are characters like white tiger, there's no one else to grab on to. These characters aren't being pushed and there's literally no notable puerto rican character from DC. Only for him to be fired/kicked out/get backlash from the public because he doesn't have the "right" ethnicity.

I feel like the general answer to issues of representation tends to be "make more of it, and make it different"
Like, no ONE character can be the "perfect Chinese representation". And it IS kind of unfair to expect that. It's not an issue that can be fixed just with Iron Fist, it needs to be fixed by making more diverse Chinese heroes IN GENERAL.
I love Chinese characters who are deeply tied to and defined by Chinese culture. But if every single Chinese character is only about being Chinese, that's ALSO an issue. I love Chinese kung fu heroes, I love Chinese fantasy, but I don't think every single Chinese hero NEEDS to be about kung fu or Chinese fantasy. Marvel has so many characters, there's room for characters that occupy a variety of niches, and Asian people shouldn't have to settle for EITHER "This character is ONLY about being Asian" and "This character is Asian but their Asian heritage is barely a part of their life", when they should be getting a variety of Asian characters representing a variety of experiences and cultural ideas.

I used to think that Danny Rand should be played by an Asian-American actor, preferably adopted by a white family, but my opinion on the matter changed a long time ago. Nowadays, I'd rather Marvel do the legwork in promoting lesser known non-white characters instead of race swapping established white characters. I think raceswapping is just lazy. I think a good way of bringing back Iron Fist into the MCU would be introducing Lin Lie, as the student of Danny Rand during the second Shang-Chi movie or in their own TV show, just like how Daredevil Born Again is a spin off of the Netflix show. This way we would not only get to see Iron Fist and Shang-Chi again (and working together) but it would also fix the current MCU Iron Fist complaints. I have some ideas for how this could work, Shang-Chi 2: we get the main Shang-Chi 2 story, whatever that may be, but alongside that we get introduced to Lin Lie who is introduced as Iron Fist to us, it could be a cool team up see what martial arts characters working together and they could also get the help from Danny Rand's Iron Fist during the film as well. Iron Fist Disney+ show: It could follow the story of Lin Lie, like in the comics, where he gets mentored by Danny Rand to becoming the new Iron Fist, that's my idea for the show so far. Obviously, its not all perfect as I just came up with this all just now, but I could see this working for the MCU.

    4:16 Hi there.
A lot of People didn’t know Danny Rand has a Half Sister who born in K’un Lun. And the mother of his half sister is Asian woman who native to K’un Lun.
Danny’s father also grew up in K’un Lun. He was Orsen Randall’s Ward. So Orsen Randall is technically Danny’s grandpa. So K’un Lun is within the family.
Unlike the Netflix show, Davos has more a rivalry/grudge towards Danny’s father that leads into Danny himself. Because Danny’s father beaten Davos in a fight, to take the Iron Fist Trail. But Danny’s father didn’t get to take the Iron Fist trial. He escaped K’un Lun and live a Normal life.
4:47 Race to me doesn’t matter.
5:31 I agree. It doesn’t save the show. The show bad on its own. Except Davos. He is only good thing from the show.
7:09 I read the comic. When Danny First met Lin Lie, *Lin Lie literally ran away from Danny when Danny tried to help him.*
Lin Lie accepted Danny as mentor at the end.
Also that same comic made unnecessary jabs at Danny Rand. And that same comic gave an inaccurate history of Wu Ao Shi and K’un Lun’s history.
    That comic is really bad.
7:33 Sadly Marvel Killed off Danny Rand on his 50th anniversary. That is cold marvel. Really Cold.
It sad that *Lin Lie cannot build his own legacy as Swordmaster.* That was Lin Lie’s original moniker before marvel made him into Iron Fist.
Making Lin Lie into Iron Fist, is just Marvel saying Lin Lie is not good enough as he own identity as Swordmaster. He is not good enough to grow into a popular hero on his own.
It is like Kamen Rider have to change his identity into Batman because he is not good enough.
Or Ultraman has to become Captain America
Or Luna Snow take the stage name Dazzler.
    No one would want that.
Like there are new Asian characters that created at same time as Lin Lie and Luna Snow that people don’t about.
Aero, Silver Fox, Crescent, Wave, and Tiger Division team
*Marvel should just make Pei be the only Iron Fist.* She is born and raised in K’un Lun. She is Danny’s Ward. She train under him. She is an Asian character who had a fish out of Water story in America(Parallel into Danny’s youth in K’un Lun) Pei is Danny’s True Legacy Character.
*Go Read Iron Fist: Living Weapon and Immortal Iron Fists by Kaare Andrews. It is worth your time*
But no Pei lost her powers. Or she has it? Alyssa Wong is really inconsistent with their writing.
But Pei is reduce into a side character rather than being Danny’s legacy.
Lin Lie didn’t know who Danny Rand is, and he Ran Away from Danny Rand.
Also Lin Lie literally cheated in the Iron Fist Trials. He didn’t beat the Dragon, he ask the dragon to lend his power to him.
No. That is never how it works. Pei herself beat the Dragon. Why can’t Lin Lie? Because he say the dragon is his friend.
Loki is the main witnesses. Curious there no interaction with Lin Lie and Loki in Marvel Rivals? Maybe Loki will spill the beans to Moon Knight how Lin Lie got his Iron Fist Mark.
Well. Good thing Robert Kirkman made his inspired Iron Fist comic. *Fire Power.*

The accusations of him not trying to learn the choreography came from one choreographer who ended up getting fired himself after season 1 anyway. So it really seems like those accusations were unfounded and just a shift of blame for the mediocre product. But everyone ran with it. Hopefully Marvel is smart and realizes recasting is completely unnecessary.

When Davos was brought back, a former Iron Fist was introduced and then the history of the Iron Fist was revealed. Danny's dad was heading to Kunlun because of his relationship with this Iron Fist. Not the white savior trope but it is the "kung fu" trope. By "Kung Fu" I mean the 1972 show with David Carradine playing Kwai Chang.

Even tho Danny is more of a "mighty whitey" than a white savior, leaving out the recent retcons, I dont really think they made him with prejudice in mind since he was created around the time when martial arts movies had EVERYONE wanting to participate in that genre. The whole issue with the Iron Fist show and Danny in general when it comes to media, is that people want an asian actor to be cast in the role AS DANNY. To me, that makes no sense because 1 being white is integral to Danny's character and 2 it plays into the "all characters based around martial arts must be played by asians" stereotype that I thought people were supposed to hate.
Outside of that, Its cool there have been other Iron Fist, but with the show being so lackluster, I dont want them to start acting like Danny doesnt exist when he's the most well known version of the character, because he deserves a proper adaptation. I dont think it makes sense to add another IF to Rivals because the moveset would be the same, but if we see him in the MCU proper, I would hope it would be Danny.

Also concerning his creation, 1 they already have an Asian character that knew Kung Fu. They didn't needed another one, hence making him white. Also making him Asian would be technically more stereotypical. TBH. There's nothing wrong with him being white. I think it's awkward putting this version of him in Rivals considering who came first. I hope that they put Danny in Rivals at some point. He can not only use his powers for beating ppl up. He can also heal folks as well. Make him well rounded support. One that can switch between guns/fists. As for MCU that ship sailed. They could've done OG Iron Fist proper with the Netflix shows. Problem is they brought in idiots that didn't cared for the original property. Hence why it was not only a crappy show, but it was easily the lousiest show in the Marvel/ Netflix run. The fact that we got an actor for the role that won't even do his do his part & be on time for stunts/shoots. The cherry on top with a show doomed to be bad because the producers/writers didn't care for the source material. Hell even the intro music was crap! Marvel RN is too hinged on M-She-U to do him justice. 😐

Here’s at least one good Asian character for people to check out who isn’t tied to just stereotypes. Go check out Amadeus Cho, the dudes cool, a super genius, has a cool friendship with Hercules, and has been hulk but eventually becomes brawn, basically a skinnier hulk. He’s a cool character imo if anyone wants to check him out.
Now here’s the main problem with iron fist currently. They basically forced Lin Lie in as the iron fist after his swordmaster comic was a flop, and instead of Danny Rand mentoring him as the new iron fist or even interacting with him, they just deleted him from existence. Lin lie was just suddenly the new iron fist while Danny was no where to be seen.
So the difference between him and miles is that one has a very interesting and captivating story in how he takes up the mantle, while the other got shoe horned in as a lazy way to make people stop complaining.

Lin Lie Swordmaster (12 issues) > Lin Lie Iron Fist (5 issues)

I think the issue lies more with what made the Iron Fist character popular than anything else. I personally didn’t even think there was any other Iron Fist other than Danny because that was the only one I ever saw. When I saw that he was getting added, I was excited, and then quickly disappointed to see he was added but it wasn’t Danny. With that said, I came to like the design for this version of him and I realized it didn’t matter much anyways cause we’d just end up getting a skin for Danny eventually. Kinda wish we got this same character with his sword though cause that low-key seemed dope af.
What bothers me is when people downplay Danny and act as if he never should’ve been the Iron Fist when the character is nothing without him. This kind of goes for all legacy characters for me apart from a small few that surpass the original character because the original wasn’t all that great. Best example I can give is Miles since he’s the most well known. He’s a cool character on his own but what bothered a lot of people when it came to his character is when it felt like they were trying to replace Peter when they haven’t even given him a proper conclusion. I’m all for the everyone can be Spider-Man thing but ultimately Peter Parker is THE Spider-Man. Anyone else who wants to make this about race or politics is just exposing themselves. This isn’t some woke move from Marvel, just something the devs probably wanted to do since they’re Chinese and wanted representation and I don’t think a majority of the normal people who were upset about this were upset cause they were racist but just that their favorite character got replaced for someone they probably didn’t know or care for.

Danny Rant's Iron Fist was in no way racist because the story didnt portray the white race as a superior to the Asian people~
These whole arguments of white savior and mighty whitey are so cringe because youre looking for and forcing and racist ideology to a story that wasnt racist in any way. There is nothing wrong for a white blonde haired, blue eyes character to be the main character in a story around Asian culture. Its only a problem if the story itself pushes this narrative that his white race is what makes him better than Asians, but no, Danny grew up orphan, worked hard and earned his title of Iron Fist~
I am Asian by the way, and as a Iron Fist player, I want Danny Rant in the game, I dont want Sword Master rebranded as Iron Fist when he has his own story and unique character design to show off as a Chinese Marvel character. I know he gets his title to Iron Fist in the comics, but so many other characters too. But Danny Rant is THE Iron Fist that I know and love. As an Asian, I want Danny Rant as a playable character~
