My musk turtle is older and bigger than yours. I've got a tiny filter., but the tank looks way more cleaner. No algae at all. I've put big lava rocks into my bare bottom aquarium. I also have a lot of water lettuce in there.
The water lettuce probably sucks up a lot of the waste in your system! I don't think algae in a tank is a problem though, it looks pretty natural in this tank

What a cutie, musk turtles are amazing animals, they make good pets for people who are new to turtles, they are hardy, stay small, have great personalities, but they can be kinda cranky, they were my first turtle, another good turtle are mud turtles.
So how’s preparation for summer tubbing coming along? Any vids of that coming up?

As a kid my favorite thing at the petco was the turtle tank. Just a dozen turtles all swimming at the glass furiously trying to get to your finger!
Lol!!! He's such a bad swimmer it makes him cute when he is swimming up to the blood worms. Is that just how they swim?

Could you keep a Stink Pot in a 29 gallon? I really want to get one and I have an empty 29 gallon but if it’s too small then I’ll wait until I can get a larger tank. You and Emily at Snake Discovery made me fall in love with them 😍😍😍 Are you going to do a care guide soon? I’m also waiting for that!
