Trying to to join the army and I got a DUI haunting me, keeping me from joining! I been sober 3 years and my only slim chance is to get letters of recommendation from credible people in my community. I'm gonna go talk to the mayor of my town next week to see what I can do to earn a letter from him. This song literally keeps me motivated to not cave to the old me when it seems I have no chance at life. Everyone is different but I know this song was wrote for those in pain no longer wanting it.

@@jhs2285 Well, it's like pages torn out of my life, all through the tracks. Old ones, new ones, always spot on. Even got a family tree from the same dark forest to sing of. My mom od'd when I was 17, my father died painfully 2 years later. The last time I saw my brother and sister was at his funeral...25 years ago. Disowned by the rest because of my habits. Some of the songs are like letters from my best friend that died 3 years ago. He lived in Brooklyn. William Cox. I loved him so much that I never let myself date him. I was too afraid of losing him to some kind of breakup. I broke his heart for 15 years. Mine too. I still talk to his mama in Alabama all the time. She wants me to move down there. The traumas I've lived through are a source of constant torment..."but all the drugs in this world... won't save her from herself". -MM
I've had some of the most amazing dreams, so happy and in love, just to wake up next to someone that is just as sick of me as I am of him. Just living together still like roommates, mostly for financial reasons. Too many tragedies stacked up against us. In just a few months time I had a hip surgery go wrong, can't walk can't work can't dance can't fuck. A month later we lost our son. We started using after that and lost our home. I got hurt worse on the street and ended up in a nursing home where I was sexually abused on a regular basis by the guy that was in charge of my activities. E.g. If say I didn't feel like eating his dick, I didn't get to eat my dinner. He'd bring it into my room and drop it on the floor and then push the emergency button for the nurses to come give me a shot because I was being "combative and throwing things". Aw, and he'd always come back to check on me once I was good and sedated. Much harder to fight him off then as he video taped himself doing whatever depraved thing to me that I deserved. I finally called my ex. He took me from there and made sure the guy was fired. I didn't want to go back to him, but it was the lesser of 2 evils. So I've been hobbling around in dirty ass Dorchester for the last 4 years.
I went on methadone for 2 years and ended up 80 pounds heavier. I use a walker for every step I take. I'm fucking broken. But you know what? My heart is still beating it's war song. I live for music and conversation. I love to sing. I played guitar for 20+ years until the crapple tunnel took over. I wish I had a "Terrible" friend to talk to. I'm not trying to climb up on anyone. Fuck. I'm 44 with a busted hip, dragging around 80 pounds that don't want to leave me.
