I'm so devastated that this show was cancelled. I've rewatched it several times and I'm so sad we won't get to see the stories continue. Such an artful, heartwarming and funny show. Also it's insane that Rick is so talented as a dramatic actor in addition to being hilarious - he is a comedian to his core and he was still able to slip perfectly into the seriousness of this role. Amazing show.
It's a terrible show. And ableist. The characters are literally 3 the most common autism stereotypes - the isolated (Albert's character), the antisocial (Rick's character), and the inappropriate (Sue Ann's character). Seems obvious that this show was written by neurotypicals.
He should've gotten the part for the remake of white men can't jump instead of jack Harlow. Dude has serious ball skills and what people don't get 99.9% of us are on the spectrum
I just watched the show and cried at every episode. I must have been under a rock because this didn’t come into my radar before. Beautiful show with so much heartwarming humanity and honesty.
TYSO has some of the most honest and human interviews I’ve heard and this epitomized that. So cool to see the offscreen chemistry amongst the cast and the only downside is now I can’t wait for season 2.
Mr. Glassman, This episode was probably the most honest, funny and vulnerable podcast I have seen about the subject. Thank you for the comedy, sincerity and wonderful people as guest's.
I love how Rick was so gentle with this interview. From his endearing love for these two friends, to the way he allowed each of them to be authentically true to who they are. I loved getting to see true Albert. He's a complex, engaging, charismatic and hilarious. I did see Sue Ann in many other interviews recently, and she appears to have a deeper connection to herself than most and communicates beautifully. Rick... you showed a sense of humanity that made me melt.
My heart goes out for Albert. Such a sweet guy. I can relate to being too hard on yourself. The thing is... everyone makes mistakes, on the spectrum or not.
Rick, Sue Ann, Albert, you are all such amazing people. I cried watching As We See It almost every episode. My brother was diagnosed ASD (among a lot of other challenges) as a child and I found out I have it as well last year. I felt so uncomfortably seen as each of your characters experiences mirrored so much of my life. Truly incredible work and thank you for sharing yourselves with the world. I have been able to start accepting myself and my brother thanks to all of you.
I like the way Rick sat in the awkwardness for a moment after he made a snap-away joke in response to Albert's story. I LOVE the snap and it will always make me laugh, but this time I appreciated him being vulnerable and letting us in on his inner thoughts. Great episode and love the show!
One of the best TV shows I've seen this year! Everyone killed it, and as a fellow neurodivergent person, there's a lot of things in this show that I see in myself: insecurities, relationship dynamics, money/jobs, etc. Fantastic job from everyone involved!
@@kicksalot7214 I really know timing and beats of jokes in standup and on TV shows. The show is so well written and acted that when the payoff IS the punchline and you see it coming it hits way harder. I cried happy tears so many times during the series.

I quite enjoyed "As We See it". Thanks for showing us the real people behind the characters. I'm a month into living as a late-diagnosed ASD person (at age 53!), and get a lot of insight from the various portrayals of the many ways in which Autism presents.
Watching this was super therapeutic. as someone who has ADD and dyslexia, I don’t have a lot of people to relate to so it’s nice to see people that struggle with the same thing
Thank you Sue Ann and Albert for sharing personal stuff about autism and related things. It helps people who don't have autism understand and interact with people who do- to better understand.
41:33 I experienced the same thing Albert did. I learned to suppress tics and stims for YEARS because of the looks I would get, even from friends or family. I channeled it all into finger drumming, leg shaking, nodding my head to music, things that wouldn't draw as much unwanted attention. I even suppressed them when I was alone because I subconsciously thought they were "bad". After a mental breakdown I experienced before being diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and ADHD (still haven't been diagnosed with ASD but I'm 99% sure I'm on the spectrum), I started experiencing huge full body tics that were impossible to suppress. It was like being electrocuted or something and I'd often make a "tssht" noise. Sometimes, during a panic attack, I'd go into what looked like a seizure where I couldn't stop shaking for up to 10 minutes. That only happened when I was alone, thankfully, but the full body tics would happen anywhere. People would look at me like there was something wrong, or even think I was doing it on purpose. I had no explanation for it or awareness of why it was happening, I didn't know what was going on either so it was really awkward trying to play it off or move past it. I also started doing more "stereotypical" stims, or ones more classically associated and idiosyncratic with autism. It was like they were always there but I held them in to the point where they would eventually just turn into a shutdown, thousand yard stare, stomach aches, and fidgeting with clothing. The worst was just having no way to explain them to myself or other people.
I just discovered the show...As upset as I was with finding out the show got canceled, this really helped me close the book on As We See it. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL SHOW!
I get teary eyed just watching you guys back together 😩🥲 Loved every minute of this. Albert is such a sweet person you could tell how much love he has to give. Can’t wait to see you guys in many more projects.
I know it’s stupid, but wearing glasses helps be present more, because you have this little barrier of protection. It doesn’t have to be sunglasses, because I feel bad that people can’t see my eyes since that’s how people communicate subtly and it’s weird wearing sunglasses inside, but glasses help.
I really hope this show comes back. as far as i know, im not on the spectrum, and have never been tested for it, but there was so much i identified with i a very visceral way on the show. Thanks for being a part of it rick. Great work to the whole team!

So excited to watch this! Been along on this crazy TYSO ride since the beginning…also binged As We See It in a few days. Just feeling very proud of Rick (feelin dorky saying that because I don’t know Rick it is what it is…) and this whole show’s gang. Such a great show and loving this trio’s dynamic. Hyperempathy is true and certainly as you're learning as a young kid. One of the most detailed memories in my life is when I was just a few years old and I had to blow my nose. Afterwards my grandfather threw the used tissue into the fireplace and I lost it. I cried like I was dying. Cried where you can hardly breath anymore. Water just gushing out of my eyes. I've never cried like that over anything or anyone ever again as I cried over that tissue disappearing from my life and how it must feel to be burned. And it's kinda sad that it wasn't an emotional response but just me figuring out how I have to do that empathy thing. Learning that you don't have to cry like that over a tissue getting destroyed. It's just a tissue and it can't feel. But it trains you over all those years and after a few seconds of meeting someone, you recognise how bad and how good things in their life are going. You can just sort people in boxes after a few minutes meeting them and then other people act surprised if someone doesn't turn out to be who they thought while you always knew. You can just read them unless they are in on it and act knowing how to circumvent it. Then it's a camouflage you can never get past.
We need a part 2 of this it's podcast gold. When casual conversation becomes healthy therapy and sharing personal experiences with a unique perspective. Sue Ann was a mars one 100 finalist I would love to hear about that experience. If Albert could hit up Disneyland and share if it lived up to the hype in his mind. Also if Sosie showed up mid show in character as Mandy I would lose my shit .

I felt connected to what you were all speaking about, this was such an uplifting thing for me to watch. I laughed a lot! Thank you to each of you :) :) :)
I think the world would be a better place if we all learned from autistic people and concentrated the same amount of effort towards learning ourselves & improving ourselves.
i'm 23 and finding out that a lot of the things i attributed to anxiety and bpd might be related to autism. the show and you guys' talking so openly about things you may have or may have not realized were attributed to autism has helped with me coming to terms with myself. always being told that there's something wrong with me or that i should understand certain things without them being said. called stupid and slow etc. i found it so soothing to have a character (and an actress) i could relate to so strongly who made me feel like i'm okay, and that there isn't anything wrong with me. edit: i don't have the money or resources to be properly diagnosed right now, but my mom just dropped the A-bomb on me out of nowhere a month or 2 ago. and while the potential explanation makes me feel a lot of relief, the lack of a concrete yes or no or official diagnosis stresses me out a little more and makes me worried that i'm faking everything.
i'm also worred bc a lot of people say that getting diagnosed as an adult and a woman is a lot harder. so i feel as though even if i did try to pursue a diagnosis i'd keep hitting walls.
Literally looked up the show on Imdb after you(Rick) mentioned the Amazon series in a different ep of TYSO. Was very curious after I saw the Imdb rating, watched the "pilot," had a few tears inadvertently fall from my eyes during the intense dialog between characters... Bing watched the entire rest of the season 1 series from "Pilot" to "Please Don't Leave." Bravo Rick and crew, f'n loved it!!
I have 2 more episodes to watch of As We See It and I am really loving it and I am crying at every episode because it relates to me so so much and I don't cry at anything that I watch at all. This show is helping me so much, Albert is my favourite and I would love to meet him in person one day if possible that would make my day better and so so happy. I hope there is a season 2 coming out soon

I just loved this so much, such a great episode, would love to see a Rick adventure to Disneyland with Albert and Sue!
i love rick's relationship with albert. of course sue ann is also totally incredible; i loved her on the show and i love her even more here.
As We See It was a blast!!! Laughing with tears in my eyes! Phenomenal performances 👏 💖
Stumbled across this podcast a few weeks ago and became aware of As we see it. Just finished watching the show and oh boy did it hit me right in the feels. Really beautiful stuff. Thank you.
I love the real versions of you guys as much as I love the characters
I am so excited! I have watched As We See It twice! I hope there's a second season in the making. You guys are the best!
I just finished watching the show last night. Watched it over two days. I’m so happy to now watch this episode and learn more about Sue Anne and Albert. Rick, you were great on the show! It will be on my list to recommend to others.
Albert is such a legend!! One of my favorite TYSO episodes
I truly love watching you interview. This episode was special
That aunt commercial had me crying. Such a funny show
I felt connected to what you were all speaking about, this was such an uplifting thing for me to watch. I laughed a lot! Thank you to each of you :) :) :)
I think the world would be a better place if we all learned from autistic people and concentrated the same amount of effort towards learning ourselves & improving ourselves.
This was the most pure interaction I’ve witnessed in a while. You’re killin’ it, Ricky G.
Great to have this episode and Rick is getting funnier and quicker every week!
i'm 23 and finding out that a lot of the things i attributed to anxiety and bpd might be related to autism. the show and you guys' talking so openly about things you may have or may have not realized were attributed to autism has helped with me coming to terms with myself. always being told that there's something wrong with me or that i should understand certain things without them being said. called stupid and slow etc. i found it so soothing to have a character (and an actress) i could relate to so strongly who made me feel like i'm okay, and that there isn't anything wrong with me.
edit: i don't have the money or resources to be properly diagnosed right now, but my mom just dropped the A-bomb on me out of nowhere a month or 2 ago. and while the potential explanation makes me feel a lot of relief, the lack of a concrete yes or no or official diagnosis stresses me out a little more and makes me worried that i'm faking everything.
i'm also worred bc a lot of people say that getting diagnosed as an adult and a woman is a lot harder. so i feel as though even if i did try to pursue a diagnosis i'd keep hitting walls.
Literally looked up the show on Imdb after you(Rick) mentioned the Amazon series in a different ep of TYSO. Was very curious after I saw the Imdb rating, watched the "pilot," had a few tears inadvertently fall from my eyes during the intense dialog between characters... Bing watched the entire rest of the season 1 series from "Pilot" to "Please Don't Leave."
Bravo Rick and crew, f'n loved it!!
Best. Episode. Ever!!!!! Love you all so much, and love the show.
When Albert screamed as he walked in. 🤣🤣🤣😄
During such dark times, this warmed my heart. Everyone is so real and sweet.
Have refreshed so many times today
Another unbelievable intro production, well done TYSO team, continually impressed & appreciate the effort
It was funny when Albert said "smash and grabs" 😂
Finished season one after watching this. Great show all around. Hoping for a second season 🤞
Lovely people , tysm TYSO!
It’s a testament to how well acted, written and defined the characters on the show are that when Albert is talking about the potential struggles he would have living in LA, my instinct was ‘he could just ask sosie to come help’ 😭
Just watched the whole series through twice and had to come watch this ep, absolutely amazing show. Great stuff!
I loved As We See It *SO* much. I'm less than 2 minutes in and this might already has potential to be a top 5 TYSO ep
I hate to disagree, but I feel like the one with Will Smith definitely takes the cake. This is for sure a close second though!
@@brittonspeciale9075 Will Smith is a two-parter and.. I can rank ep 1 with Will in top 5 and ep 2 6th. Kristen Bell's first appearance will be number one on the Mount Rushmore of TYSOs forever. Adam and Erik have ben on so many times that they're splitting votes against themselves as guests.
Albert my man, your story about your finances, your mom and Fleetwood Mac, was like taking a page out of my life 😿🧚♀️🌈
Hands down two of my favorite guests on the podcast 🥰
Show is incredible … thanks for all you do !!
Rick, you have an amazing ability to make things funny, but you also know where individuals lines of comfort and safety are. I know you have wonderful intentions with such a diverse group. Keep up the great work. It’s my favorite pod
