Yes. They are. This siren is based on a sea creature named 'sea butterfly'. Well, not the rigging in this case, but the girl herself is. If you look at her hair and the creatures around her, for example. You can fish them in Animal Crossing, LMFAO

That being said, it doesn't seem to be a bother for Yostar to reuse already existing sea animals: Omitter is a Basking Shark, so is Empress. Strength seems to be another kind of shark, and so is Purifier (hammerhead shark). Compiler... I don't know how that animal is called, but The Tower (or the High Priestess, as some think) also have their rigging based on the same animal, apparently. Temperance and Observer Zero also are jellyfishes. It also seems to me that the Enforcers are deviating from that idea, and don't seem to *have to* (some do) follow any animal inspiration, at least from what I can tell.
It's their faction's symbol. It has appeared various times in the game's resources, specially as fleet effects or the Strongholds in OpSi. Though, never full or in bad quality. It's honestly my favorite emblem. Just a (ancient greece I think?) Siren playing her flute.

That's just her name, just how Observer Alpha is named... Well, that. Arbiter's names are named after Major Arcana Tarot cards, the number after the 'Arbiter' representing the number of card they represent.
GD has gotten extremely dull and boring to me. I left the community like 3 years ago, and it STILL hasn't gotten any meaningful update. Nothing. Heck, the only meaningful new features added to the game are the ones that other hackers (now modders?) decided to add because said game was lacking. Plus, GDHM by adaf and MegaHack by Absolute should have you covered with any hack you may want. TL;DR, no. Don't expect me to get involved in GD anymore. I may create a level or two if I feel like it, but I wouldn't count on it.
