    I taught classes on Japanese pop culture at a university for quite a few years, and I can verify that, yes, this may be exaggerated a bit, but only a bit. The weeaboos I taught tended to be good kids, but some of them really did struggle to differentiate between fantasy/anime/video games and reality. So, I got a pretty good laugh from this.

      What's the deal with how they add this "uru" suffix to so many words in this sketch? What does it mean? Is it an actual word/suffix or are they just trying to sound "more Asian?" Also, it's a kpop show, right? Doesn't that mean it's Korean/inspired by Korean culture? But then there are a lot of Japanese references in the comments...they're two totally different countries.

    • @priyachoudhary9896
      @priyachoudhary9896 3 роки тому

      @@ntom5579 well uru isn't actually a suffix, the writers made random words to make it sound like japanese, which further signifies how obsessive people like them don't even know the morsel of the language but would pretend to know it and no its not associated with k-pop. It's literally written in there. J-pop.

And if I can read Japanese (which is really my only goal, I don't care about speaking it all that much), then I should be able to generally understand written Chinese as well. As a psychology major with a minor in Japanese culture studies (aka collectivist psychology) I can tragically confirm that my freshman year, every student in language class were like this. Even by the second semester they had mostly thinned out or disappeared since they had to come to terms with the fact that learning Japanese requires actual study and not binge watching Naruto, but still, that first semester was agonising. I pitied the professor, a young Japanese woman who clearly came to the U.S. to share her love of language and culture and instead had any remaining ambition or dignity brutally destroyed. Sometimes I wonder how she’s doing nowadays, if she’s actually stayed here or retreated back to Japan.

      Bigfoot hot breath 🤤

    • @MarcusCato275
      @MarcusCato275 4 роки тому +8

      @Bigfoot There's a difference between foul smell coming from poor hygienge and an attractive scents naturally produced like pheromones and musk. Body odour and rancid sweat aren't attractive, science or no science. Musk in subtle doses can be attractive as well as good hygiene and cologne.

    • @MarcusCato275
      @MarcusCato275 4 роки тому +5

      @Bigfoot I'm pro hygiene, whatever form it takes. In medieval Europe people would towel bath regularly, if not everyday in order to clean themselves eg. draw water into a small basin (and if they could they would scent it or if they had access to soap they would soap the water) and with a linen towel wipe themselves clean. In our times, in countries where certain communities lack sophisticated public infrastructure and have no access to private indoor plumbing, ordinary people would still put in the effort to draw water from a stream, river or community well and clean themselves in this manner. In the towns and cities people had access to public bathouses so they could bathe quite regularly. But private full immersion bathing was rare and happened once a year as a lot of effort had to be put in to draw and heat enough water. For scenting the body and reducing the smell of foul personal odor Medieval people used flower and herbal bags and if they could afford it perfumes made from essential oils. People's underwear also contributed to good hygiene and the reduction of personal odor. Underwear consisted of a shirt and stockings which covered all of the body. Odor and sweat was entirely absorbed by the undergarments which (unlike the outer garments) was washed frequently and that contributed to good hygiene and reduced the accumulation of sweat and foul odor.
      If you live in a modernised country with good public infrastructure and access to affordable consumer technology then the easy provision of water, and the affordable procurement of showering/bathing equipment and a washing machine leaves no excuse for you to not take care of yourself.
      Certain people and certain weeaboos are just lazy when it comes to personal hygiene.
