I lolled when the Polar people got to stop and the Garmin boys had to keep running. But really, watching a fantastic workout by these world-class runners that happened in East Africa this morning... That really is mind-blowing. Thanks for bringing it to us!
L'émulation autour de Wanders est juste incroyable ! Belle perf' de Studer sur cet entraînement face à des coureurs pros alors que lui est triathlète...
I would be really interested in videos looking into the average East Africa Runners nutrition, and how it changes with different training demands. Thanks for the great content.
From what I've seen over the last few weeks, recovery food is not amazing. There's some decent stuff happening for supper, some awesome greens, some meat and then Ugali (ground corn) but so many of the guys just have tea and bread as a post-run meal.
For most of us (Kenyan not Elite runner lol) there isn't any special diet just a light breakfast before the run (Tea and bread) normal lunch and supper our staple food is Ugali so maybe a lot of Ugali, beef and skumawiki (Kales) which btw is what 80% of the population would have on a normal day...I personally can't do the paces this guys are doing but its not in the nutrition lol
I don't! I'd love to get one! But a few other things on the gear shopping list to pick up first. Think it'd be so cool for some of these long long runs!
I'm not entirely sure. The information he's allowed to give is limited. But from what I can tell talking around it that its a new shoe... Don't take as gospel though :D
@@TheBaltino Yeah, it's not a big % really. I think Garmin say there's a +/- 2.5% error with GPS, so it's within that margin. Just funny to see such a marked difference between the two brands.
Many people have different understandings of those words. I feel like they are so often interchanged that it doesn't really matter whether it was tempo or threshold... it was fast.
Angus here. An interesting thing I learnt recently is that one of the benefits for Kenyan runners, especially those from the Iten region, is that their leg strength to muscle mass in lower legs is very good. It is not good for running efficiency to have high muscle mass in the lower legs. Imagine wearing small weights around your ankles (or having wet/muddy shoes) it is way more difficult to run than if that weight was around your waist or even upper legs. As for why footballers can have more bulk, I am not sure, maybe for short bursts it is ok to have bulk or that for changing direction/acceleration more bulk is better than higher efficiency.
I wan to know where do kenyans get money to afford those 200 dollar plus shoes? unless you have a sponsors it is impossible not to mention other gear you need and time and DIET( isotonic drinks, jells that and this). Not to mention how many pairs you need in a year(6 pairs?). And these folks dont work. I know white folks dropped it on their credit card and it is nearly 10k dollars already. BOOK IT! This has become an expensive endeavor as is.
The TRI Guy Max Studer was amazing to keeping up with these World class Runners!!!Big thumbs up for Him.Very inspiring video, thanks for sharing!

The infamous Garmin kilometer that is in average 5% longer than the Polar one :)
No way. I tested it on the track and garmin was precise as a Swiss watch. 10 k were exactly 25 laps and not even a meter more
Loving the Kenyan coverage recently!
This channel has been an inspiration for me to improve upon my running
so basically for me, this would be a very long run at my sprinting pace…
This is so surreal, like I'd maybe manage to stay attached for 1min30 at most
Insane indeed, my maximum sprint pace for like 400m is like 3min/k after which I'll blow my lungs out 😂
@@soraya217 Meanwhile they can literally jog my 400m PR for 12 miles for TRAINING!
Amazing that these guys run 3:03 for 20k. I couldn’t keep that for 400m. Fantastic video again.

This is an obscene workout. Well ran.
They can literally jog my 400m PR for 12 miles for TRAINING! Shows how crazy fast these Kenyan runners are going.
They are not jogging💀 it’s their threshold pace.

They probably have resting heart rates of 20 wouldn’t be surprised

Just a little bit of advice, DON'T talk to a runner in a tempo run. You think they're running easy? Shame on you
