Jessie Roberta Cowan was from Kirkintilloch , she may have worked in Campbeltown.
The older Taketsuru Pure Malt (black and gold label) was really good, Yamazaki 12 is really fine, but the Hibiki Harmony is a masterclass of blending. It's just a shame most of the Japanese Whiskies have gotten out of control with prices and availability...
It's crazy isn't it - Suntory have just announced price hikes too.
I think I will have to get my self a Hibiki soon :)
The Hibiki is a Masterclass in what a blended whisky can be.
Have a Taketsuru and Hibiki 17 ready to open for my 40th next year.
@@sjobakk Better than Blue label? Would be good to try them side by side!
Never tried a Japanese whisky.in the early days, where did the first Japanese distillery source its barrels from? Was there a ready market of sherry (or other types) casks or did they have to specifically import or make their own?
Ive onlyy ever tried a few Japanese whiskies like Yamazaki,Suntory very old rare and Hibiki ,and I can honestly say, they weren't upto much.Prirty much operated,as I've tried far better Scottish whisky at a fraction of the price of these Japanese ones.
