    WHY is adding air assist helping the make things better ?
    Specialy at those high pressures ?

    • @ChadsCustomCreations
      @ChadsCustomCreations  2 роки тому +1

      I don't know the exact science behind it but besides keeping your lens clean to work at optional power I would guess air is also removing the particles that are being burned clearing the way for the laser to continue to pass through thicker layers without being blocked. I also think that there is some kind of adding fuel to the fire thing going on if you imagine blowing on a campfire it intensifies the heat and I believe the laser is having something similar happing here. I am Interested to hear what others think aswell.

    Compressor Question: I like the idea of the HPA, but am struggling to find a compressor. The one you are showing may be workable, but one thing you are not mentioning is how long are you running it at 40psi? Is that the maximum continuous output of the machine? Is the motor cycling, or, running the entire time? How long can the motor manage that? When I am completely up to speed, I'll be doing 380x800mm ish pieces with deep (1.5mm) engraving, which could take quite a while, even if I used the 40w, so, I am trying to find a machine that won't leave me with a pile of compressor motors in my yard.

    Another question or two:
    - a fellow teacher said he uses xtool M1 in his class, but it’s a good chunk more $ and the biggest difference I can see is the enclosure. Are u aware of any differences that might be worth the $?

    • @ChadsCustomCreations

      So the M1 is enclosed and also has a vinyl cutter but I've never been a fan of the all in one machines as they to me seem to do the jobs less well than a dedicated machine.
      I am about to get the enclosure kit for the D1 and make a video on how to setup a laser indoors.
      But yes for the classroom enclosure is a good idea as you won't have to have glasses on everyone in the classroom.
      Venting will be big for you have access to a window? If not there are units that filter out all the smoke and can be left indoors but I haven't personally used those yet.
