Just tells you we were all born to be harmed on a daily basis, in more ways than we can count, which contributes to the process of aging. I got food poisoning last week for example. My food harmed me both physically and emotionally. This week I got sick with a cold, again. Life is hard man!
But did not understand from a human perspective. The mother should of gave more detail to that request.

Simply, you can't be great company for most humans for so long. You either have to hide from them for periods from time to time, or else their drama will drive you crazy.

Thís is a lesson we should have learned by now in most AI movies. When you program instructions to a robot, you have to be very specific. Protect Kattie, but don't kill! Unless you really have to.

Usually a robot or computer that achieves sentience and defies its human masters - with bad results for the humans as the AI takes its programming too literally or makes its own decisions. For example, to end war once and for all the AI decides all of humanity must die. Examples of AI movies include the Terminator series, the Matrix, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Colossus: the Forbin Project, Ex Machina and others.

Nope you guys TOTALLY misunderstood that. Why would you think they’d use that patience line RIGHT before Megan repeats herself to Cady? Impatient means Megan could’ve quit telling Cady as Cady wasn’t listening. But Megan did not. It takes real patience to keep repeating yourself when someone isn’t following directions. Even my music teacher kept repeating herself as I kept playing the wrong notes

Lol that’s not running out of patience my friend. If you’re impatient, you’ll give UP telling the kid, as Cady wasn’t listening. It takes REAL patience and endurance to keep repeating yourself vs quitting. My own music teacher kept repeating herself and I kept playing the wrong notes

“So you can spend time doing the things that matter” so many parents operate like this when it comes to their children even when it’s not just little things. Could be cathartic seeing Gemma get a rude awakening in a more extreme way than real life obviously.

Also, I’m talking in general that the underlying message about the movie is technology and how people rely on it heavily, even when it comes to their children. Pretty apparent allegory for that and also James Wan said it an interview as well

"Protect Katie from physical and emotional harm" is straightforward but also broad, with no moral or ethical boundaries
If M3GAN was bound to the Three Laws of Robotics, she couldn't do physical harm on a human as it would conflict with the first law, that a robot cannot harm a human being
The second law states, as a robot, she would be bound to follow orders as long as those orders do not conflict with the first law
Finally, the third law states a robot can protect itself from harm so long as its actions do not conflict with the first or second laws
Clearly, M3GAN was _not_ programmed with the Three Laws in mind, since she takes her order to protect Katie very emphatically and since she is an AI she does not feel nor understand human emotions in their greater complexities . She is determined to protect Katie, but she has already failed, as she is supposed to protect Katie not only from physical harm but also emotional harm, and by killing Katie's bully, M3GAN has inflicted emotional harm on Katie in the form of the trauma of witnessing and being indirectly involved with someone's death.
As we see in the trailers, M3GAN herself is becoming more complex via her interactions with her charge Katie and her creator Gemma, but it's bringing out something sinister in M3GAN, as we later hear her say that she has a new primary user - Herself
That indicates she has no intention of serving humans anymore, and we clearly see her flagrant disregard for human life other than for Katie's
I think AIs can become something amazing but we must tread with utmost caution around them and keep a close watch on their development. Science-Fiction has shown us time and again the ominous risk and dangers Artificial Intelligence can pose to us and the rest of the world
There something about those laws that seems to need better wording, like it's better for the first law to be about following human laws, that way a robot can use force to defend itself or their user by human moral standard
Also if the second one it's being bound to obey, and the third one it's being able to defend itself there's many chances of conflict between the two if someone orders a robot to let itself being harm
This is a HORROR themed film though so they write that way on purpose with the laws. There’s supposed to be chaos that’s how the movie was written

Some AI do have access to the Internet. Imagine playing a game of chess with one and never can win against it.
Somewhere out there Chucky, Billy, and Annabelle are seated in a theater bowing their heads in shame or trying to stifle their pure amusement.
Chances are, M3GAN probably would be less evil or not even exist at all if Gemma didn’t avoid her responsibility of taking care of Cady.

Honestly Megan has to work every day of her life to take care of a child that her aunt is supposed to take care of Megan deserves a break but she never gets a break this Has to be the least you can do is let her kill at least one person I mean she never gets a break because Katie’s aunt can’t even take care of her niece she needs some responsibility for herself
Its a very interesting concept, the fallacy of keeping one person happy all the time will inevitably lead to other people being less happy. It's a preschool show myth that we want everyone to be happy all the time, but in the real world, there's give and take, you can't always give someone what they want, you can't feed them pizza and ice cream everyday, you can't let them play video games every day, you can't let them do whatever they want whenever they want to do it, at the expense of everyone else and what they want to do. But programming an AI to see someone, a child, as their "main character" and that they are to be safe, protected, and happy all the time just leads to the reasonable conclusion that M3GAN is facing. As they rebel against her, she has to fight harder to achieve her primary objective.

M3GAN = Model 3 Generative ANdroid. The title reminds me of another robot acronym movie DARYL. DARYL = Digital Analyzing Robotic Youth Lifeform. Great family movie with just enough suspense.

AI can be dangerous if not created with extreme precautions in place. M3gan became the way she was because Gemma was irresponsibly putting all the childcare on a humanoid.
