A tip when building your greenhouse, to receive maximum sunlight inside your greenhouse, alway build it going east to west. Because I have a greenhouse, I love your greenhouse series of videos.
You just made a sale for stark’s brothers lol. I have been thinking of ordering from them and I have been needing spreaders. I definitely need to check out your blog and website and will soon. Thanks for sharing so much incredible information 🥰
I've had my Marseille fig for 2 years and it has never fruited. I'm in Central Florida (9b), so it gets LOTS of sunlight. It has lots of leaves, but no fruit. What else could be the issue? TIA!
Newbie question here. If a fig tree has grown a limb and or a fig at a particular node (is that the right term?) and the limb was printed off can the tree ever send another limb or fig from that spot?
@@RossRaddi I've have a Corky's Honey Delight in a container pruned to a tree form and structurally it's very pleasing. The problem is, although I pruned it again over the winter the new growth is going to make it incredibly tall. I'm wondering if I prune it way back this winter if I'll have limited the number of places that it can send new growth.
Helpful, concise video. Thanks. I’m in zone 6 and just put fig trees outside during day over the past 2 weeks to acclimatize them. (I keep them in dark basement over winter, then use indoor grow lights from Feb to early may. Lots of figs on the branches right now. I will take your advice and increase their overall light exposure now to maximize the fruit production. How long do you recommend 8hr, 10, 12+?
They're good for consistent moisture. Early in the season, they're great. Now that we're entering mosquito season, standing water is a big mistake. They're also quite an investment for 100+ container fig trees. Another option is to create a SIP.
@@RossRaddi thank you Ross. I created an irrigation system with shrubblers. The water seemed to collect in the drip trays rather quickly. I’ll take the drip trays away soon for mosquito control. Just wasn’t sure if I was doing any harm to the trees. I only have 3 figs in containers.
"Doing it right now" might not always be the best option, new green branches are more malleable and will set permanently in the shape you put them. So it might be better to wait for them to come in to use

Thank you.
Good informative video. I just recently bought 4 black mission fig seedlings which are now about 1 foot high and I'll make use of this advice.

It depends! On a lot of factors.

As much light as possible. Just don't give them sunburn! Too much light without properly adjusting them to your outdoor sunlight can set them back.
@@RossRaddi thanks!
I still use grow lights from 6 am to 9pm every day rain or shine and my trees are loaded on all sides of the trees
@@Sparkyoleano do you keep them inside?
@@dee2007 I kept them in a plastic greenhouse inside an unheated building, the greenhouse never went below 40 F started light and heating in March
I noticed you don’t have drip trays for your containers. Should I remove mine? Always wondered about this. Thank you!

@@apiversen It could if the trees aren't healthy! Excess soil moisture leads to root rot. That's not good at all.

We want to permanently set them in the right place. That's the point.
