Love love love this house! So realistic. And so nostalgic! Like, really love how you used the colors of this time. I totally am envisioning this family now. I love it. I love your family homes and this is one of your best. I love it when there are houses not in the expected. Like something of a former era like this. It’s very 70s without being gimmicky. Like, it’s real 70s. I’d love to see more “former era” builds like this. Love it!
This reminds me of my grandparents house while I was growing up. Everything looked 70s but with random more modern things. Like the living room TV. Lol. My grandma had all her 70s furniture in her living room when she died in 2010 but she had a flat screen TV on her old TV stand. Only updated things when she HAD to. 🤣
If the terrain is raised up because you placed a basement, you can lower the basement to ground level (like how you adjust foundation) and it would go back to normal. Floors and stairs might be deleted but you can just replace them:)
This looks like some homes that still exist in my neighborhood (minus the pool, because I'm in Wisconsin... though my grandparents had a built-in pool in Wisconsin in the 80's and 90's, so this could still be accurate.) I love the detail and thought you put in to everything!
Pure nostalgia! I grew up spending summers with my grandparents, running the same neighborhood my mother grew up in and most of the neighborhood is built in this style. Absolutely love it! ❤️
I love this house so much. It kinda reminds me of my grandparents house a little bit and gave me such good memories just now looking at it. Thank you for posting your builds. :)
Fun fact, most of the bathrooms in the 60's and 70's were generally either fully pink (most popular), green (second most popular), yellow or like a turquoisey blue. And I mean the whole bathroom. The toilet, the sink, the tub, the curtain, the towels and rugs, even the decorations. I know this because my grandparents had a mainly yellow bathroom. Even after they'd moved into more modern homes. Twice. Also, most kitchens had small round tables to eat breakfast and lunch at. Then there was an actual dining room with a super long, fancy, rectangle table for dinners and fancy-esque get togethers.
I got the That 70s Show vibe and LOVE this build. I just love the 70s. I think the house looks like a home handed down from grandparents to grandchild. That it has elements from the 60s to the eary 2000s. That it's a well loved home by generations of a family.
I really like the retro vibes in this home. I'd like to see a sims version of Goldbergs house from "The Goldbergs" show set in the 80s. "That 70s Show" is great, and I'm super excited for "That 90s show"! Functional tire swings would be incredible. I think play kitchens would be awesome for toddlers and children, maybe it could develop a baking skill from young sims
Since discovering your channel 2 years ago so many of your builds have been my favorite. But...this one...so nostalgic and hits me in the feels. SO many houses still look just like this. Awesome build!
This house reminds me of my uncle's house :) it's a very fond place for me and practically went there every week. All my extended family always had gatherings/hung out there. Good times....
to say i'm obsessed would be a total understatement. i love retro everything so i love this! :) it's really making me want a fully retro save file to play in oof
this video made me want to renovate my sim's house!! i wanted to lean heavily towards a 1970s aesthetic with her and this build gave me a lot of inspiration to redo her home
I’m a little late to the party here but I just wanted to say, watching this made me so happy. I grew up with houses like this one and it brought back so many memories watching you build another one here :)
I want to start the family dynamics challenge in this house! Thank you for your builds. I also have your save file in my game. I'm not the best builder so the gallery and savefiles are one of the best features of this game for me!
i love your builds honey! i used one of your builds and my sim immediately changed her mood to some sort of happy mood (not sure which one). it was because it was so decorated and i was honestly so jealous because i sims never do that when i make houses because i not a good builder, i play on my playstation4 so it is much more difficult to do the things that you do!
This reminds me of my childhood home, it was yellow with a brown roof and it had a tire swing too. I kind of want to make a version of my childhood house now. You did a great job :)
This is pretty crazy cause I built the Brady brunch house on the lot right next to the lot you’re using just quite recently too, and for the same reason! The neighborhood is just perfect. I’m totally adding this build to my sims
I once figured out a way to stop the terrain from raising when placing basements- I don’t remember what it was (I did it on accident) but it makes me so mad when I make a basement and it raises the terrain. Anyway - I LOVE this home!!! I get “suburban American” vibes
For the basement, what worked for me was to start with the house on zero foundation, put in the basement then raise the house on a foundation. The basement doesn’t raise the ground around the foundation when done this way. :) This house is so nostalgic!
lovely build simlicy really does look retro 👌, but I think we need the ability to make screened in porches would add to the feel but sadly we can't , oh well 😢.
I love this build bc it reminds me of the houses in the neighborhood I grew up in. It’s very nostalgic and true to the American suburbs.
frrrr
This house is so nostalgic. It looks like every home I ever visited and lived in in my childhood.
Really loving the realistic family homes lately. They’re my favorite style to play in! So excited to build a family for this house and play in it :)
Def need to replace all the homes in my game with more realistically built houses!
So cute!! It’d be cool to see it updated with the next generation, like if the toddler grows up and inherits the house for their family
I love this! Definitely reminds me of the 70s houses up in Pennsylvania. Also music choice was perfect
The tire swing is the absolute cutest thing ever!! I can’t get over how talented you are !💚

I love your "All American suburban" type builds. You emulate the style and aesthetics so effortlessly! Xoxo
This one is so cool. Such a fun departure from the norm, and very well done!
I love this house! So much character, so retro & realistic !
Love this house! I grew up in Northern New Jersey and homes like this were everywhere! Really reminded me of that classic 70s house

Perfect layout. I can imagine the real house like this and feel satisfy with how much it is functional
Since discovering your channel 2 years ago so many of your builds have been my favorite. But...this one...so nostalgic and hits me in the feels. SO many houses still look just like this. Awesome build!
this is the first speed-build i've watched, and i loved it so much! this house is adorable!
The attention to detail in this build is insane! Job well done!!!!!!
This is my favorite build you've ever made. I feel so much nostalgia!
So many homkes of this style where I live in Alberta. Nailed it!
This house reminds me of my uncle's house :) it's a very fond place for me and practically went there every week. All my extended family always had gatherings/hung out there. Good times....
Dawn your builds are really inspiring and I find them very relaxing. 🥰🥰🥰
to say i'm obsessed would be a total understatement. i love retro everything so i love this! :) it's really making me want a fully retro save file to play in oof
this is so perfect and nostalgic, it reminds me of my cousins old house that i would spend a lot of time at! sort of an early 2000s suburban home
this looks exactly like my grandmas house.. it’s kinda scary how spot on the living room is
This is a great nostalgic build and the music topped it off. Thank you for sharing this!
this video made me want to renovate my sim's house!! i wanted to lean heavily towards a 1970s aesthetic with her and this build gave me a lot of inspiration to redo her home
The song at the end is such a perfect choice for this too
The kitchen isn't GOLD enough. Everything GOLD
I feel like I've seen houses like this my entire life? It's kinda surreal to see in the Sims!
An above ground decked pool would’ve been so cool in this build!! ^^
A perfect 70’s home! The tire swing is awesome too
This is my favorite era and you did a great job making this build feel cozy!
I’m a little late to the party here but I just wanted to say, watching this made me so happy. I grew up with houses like this one and it brought back so many memories watching you build another one here :)

Love the little retro suburban details.
i love your builds honey! i used one of your builds and my sim immediately changed her mood to some sort of happy mood (not sure which one). it was because it was so decorated and i was honestly so jealous because i sims never do that when i make houses because i not a good builder, i play on my playstation4 so it is much more difficult to do the things that you do!

I really love this build and I think it fits perfectly in Dem Sol Valley! :))

i love this!!! i love the colors and the way it looks lived in. so cozy and realistic
Loved it!! Very 80s or early 90s style!!
everything about this house is absolutely perfect omfg
This is pretty crazy cause I built the Brady brunch house on the lot right next to the lot you’re using just quite recently too, and for the same reason! The neighborhood is just perfect. I’m totally adding this build to my sims
I get 80’s 90’s vibes!!!! from this build , but can you do more base game builds?!
I agree. The early-mid seventies had more wacky color combinations and vibrance.
I've watched 2 of ur vids and I'm allready subscribed lol. Ur channel is just so likeable
Wood paneling was very popular. I remember having that in our house 😂
the tire swing is such a cute idea!!!
Oooooh I've been looking for a family home! Will need to download it! :D
Fantastic build again Dawn! Absolutely love the style you’ve done here, it’s so authentic 😊
I'M LOVIN 'IT!! I'M GOING TO USE IT
You covered every detail! This obviously took a long time! So good!!!!
I feel like everyone has a house like this near them. Everyone feels a sense of nostalgia from a house like this lol

very very well done, even the music choice is perfect! great work again lol
I would love to see you do a build through the decades!
I just downloaded this and I'm obsessed 😍 I made some changes to fit the family I'm using, and I turned the kid's play space into a Teen art studio 😀
I loooooove this style of houses so much
Yesss PLEASE do more retro houses like this!
i love your builds!!
This is so good probably one of my favorite builds from u
Beautiful 😍 the 🧐 you have to make everything flow together and really look lived in is amazing 🥰❤
you should make a series building retro/vintage houses!! you could do ones based on different decades maybe!!!
You should build the house from That 70's Show!
the house turned out so beautiful!!
Love the build
I loved it 💜💜💜 I’m about to download so many homes right now to my save
I love this! I'd love to see more retro builds!
The way you used the gras was genius.
And i think Bowlingstuff is a little bit mor 50s or 60s
Your builds are incredible! Very creative and detailed. ♥️
oh my god this is absolutely amazing
I love it it’s to cute!and I agree with the lawn mower!!!
On short wall hight, you can add 3 steps ; just use a regular door (as scale) if you have any doubt.
Thks for your work ❤
This looks like the house I grew up in! My room was the whole basement too!
I once figured out a way to stop the terrain from raising when placing basements- I don’t remember what it was (I did it on accident) but it makes me so mad when I make a basement and it raises the terrain.
Anyway - I LOVE this home!!! I get “suburban American” vibes
You can move objects up and down by clicking 9 and 0 I always see you type in stuff and that seems like a lot of work lolll
For the basement, what worked for me was to start with the house on zero foundation, put in the basement then raise the house on a foundation. The basement doesn’t raise the ground around the foundation when done this way. :)
This house is so nostalgic!
OMG I would love it if you could do the Foreman's house, or the Pinciotti!!
reminds me of mike wheelers house from stranger things!! beautiful build x
Omg the half walls remind me of all of my great aunts' houses 😂 bonus points if instead of a half wall it's just a railing
Amazing build very talented keep up the good work
It really reminds me of the house from American Dad!
whenever i use platforms i always place a fridge to make sure it's short enough for sims to walk through, it's a good reference height!
Your builds are my favourite :)
Aw it reminds me of the house from the Fairly Oddparents, although I'm not sure that looks anything like this now that I think about it 😂 love this!!
This build is really cute :) Great job!
Ah-mazing! I can't wait to play this!
omg PLEASE recreate the Foreman house!!!! I always loved that house :)
Strangerville is such an underrated pack!
Hiii! Can you do more 3 generation house? Your builds are amazing!
wow ur a great designer!!
lovely build simlicy really does look retro 👌, but I think we need the ability to make screened in porches would add to the feel but sadly we can't , oh well 😢.
