This is a really powerful version of a classic song. I bet Donovan would really love this even if his approach to music was more "mellow." Thanks for your time putting this together & sharing it so we can all enjoy great music on youtube.
joan jett dous do great cover of the songs that she does I think everything that she does is great keep on rocking joan love you the queen of rock and roll always 😎❤🎤🎵🎶🎼🎸
Woman I grew up with in the city who were punk and humble but fierce and so generous with the junkies and poets at St Marks - we lived and always will love fierce lives now and boy is it needed ladies
I'm a little younger the Jett, but no doubt in my mind the no name decades following the dreadful 90's are complete shit. There does not seem to be a feeling to the new century's ..... whatever, I can't even describe. The 50' 60's, 70's and most importantly for me, the 80's we're identifiable entities those who experienced them or have taken the time to study have personalities, identities, etc. I will close that in my book being a young stoner in the 80's (11- 21) it was the birth, evolution and culmination of the greatest form of metal (which is rock and roll) was the push to take it the the extreme. Faster, louder and then some was a movement I loved and hate the fact it was ending before it got started. Only two bands made more than 1 true thrash metal album and we all know it's Slayer and Exodus. "Angel of Death... flying free. Glad to know there are younger people who feel like you. I always wanted to be part of the 50's, the 60's, 70's ??? truly lamented I had missed out on being part of the creation, the scene and one day have an identity equal to those...and I TOTALLY DID. I hope you can have that same experience, but I don't think it's a possibility. I admit I was always a closet fan of Jett, but the times we different and I made the choice to champion thrash when the kids stuck in the past had no clue what. They get it now, but fuck those posers. And fuck Metallica, Kill Em All started it all and they posed by album 2. They chose the money and abandoned the cause. Hail the Almighty SLAYER!!!!
J.J. you have always delivered! Rock is your destiny! I would love to know you.since that's not likely, You've touched many people ! I'm 55 and still feel, the magik Shines )0( Blessed Be
OK you NAILED this tooo Donovan is great but your version, I am so biased huh YOU are so kick ass girl! Since jr high You sang so beautifully so long ago before the world knew the Queen of Rock and Roll! Rock on Love you!
@stilettospike - No dear - The Heavy Guitars are well needed and make the song even better. Donavon's is good but very tame if you know what I mean. Joan did a FANTASTIC job on this and Tony Bruno is playing those awesome RIFFS on Guitar who is now in Enrique Iglesias band and Enrique's music manger. Heavier is better !!!
Well, this is the only song by Vanilla Fudge I know and I love it. Then, I listened to the Hole's cover, and I've fallen in love with it, too. And now this... JJ is a fucking genius!!!
@KRISODEE Courtney Love/Hole are amazing. I agree, Joan's version of this song is WORLDS better, and I love Joan Jett more, but Hole made a lot of great music. Courtney is NOT Kurt, she's an artist in her own right.
This lady is a living icon. She is as rocknroll as people come.
She is legend.
Forgot about this song until I watched the Sons of Sam documentary.
Literally same!!!!!!!
@@69mwagner DITTO!
Moi aussi. Documentary was pants apart from first episode, which was of interest.

Joan did a fantastic cover! These "strong" instruments fits very well with her way of singing, great style.
Son of Sam is the reason I am here...Joan is the reason why am stayin
Kool. I like the original version of this song. Joan just took this to another level. Sounds great. Love her voice. Wow!
This is a really powerful version of a classic song. I bet Donovan would really love this even if his approach to music was more "mellow." Thanks for your time putting this together & sharing it so we can all enjoy great music on youtube.
OMG, she did an awesome job covering this! This is great!
Yesss! Joan slayed this tune.

Wow 🖤🤘🎧
My God, I can't believe that was released in 2004. It feels too good to be an 00s song, more like those awesome 80s songs.
Very creepy and obsessive..I put this version, the "Super Session" cover and Donovan's original in my Jett playlist. Thanks for the upload!
SEPTEMBER 22ND, 2024* -----****HAPPY 66TH BIRTHDAY, JOAN!!! **** 💖💥💫💫💥💥💥🗯🗯🗯 THE ONE AND ONLY....The Coolest, The Most Georgeous,THE BEST@!!!!

Never heard this song b4 so I thought it was Courtney Love at first when I was watching Sons of Sam. Good song tho.
I love you Joan This song makes me even hotter for you 💕💓💖💘Since 1982😋🇺🇸
Joan Jett
She Sounds like courtney love in this song
@ScienceProjek - I know Courtney Love covers this classic song but this is not Courtney this is JOAN JETT !!!
That's what's up!
Sons of sam.
Holy shit, this fucking rocks.
You were born in Her Time ! - Trust Me !
You make her time whenever you like ; )
no... I wasn't born in this era... yeah it's old o: I still like it tho! that doesn't take away from this being a great song!
I am number 13 in this video. I am the darkness of the season of the witch
Can this just be released already
While I love the original Donovan version the live version of this would probably have a little more oomph
@DaleSrRocked - Yeah, she will kick your ass !!! hehe - Never fuck with a girl with a machine gun !!! hehe
Best version ever.
@imamaie Hey, dude. It's a song written and performed by Donavan in 66....The blues brother's version is yet another cover..;-)
💜
This is the best version of that son they took the original and made their own sorry donavan
I loved her badd ass since day 1

SÜPER LADY WOMAN JOAN JEET LADY VOMAN
That's showin em....
I am not sure but is this song was in the movie "the other guys" or was it some other singer's cover ?
I love her although when I was kids she seemed so out there and radical but not so much now. This one is as good as it gets. It's almost punk.
it was she !!!
I thought Hole was singing and oddly enough they also covered it.
Pretty sure this closed the show last night on True Blood or was it Hole? Any ideas?
😍😍
anyone here for the son of sam
Anyone else feel like that if it wasn’t for people like her they wouldn’t be people like pink
on 0:58 when did this happen ?
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
@ScienceProjek Pssh. Courtney Love WISHES she were Joan Jett!
Joan is one bad azz rocker, great cover, prefer it over Donovan's.
Well, this is the only song by Vanilla Fudge I know and I love it. Then, I listened to the Hole's cover, and I've fallen in love with it, too. And now this... JJ is a fucking genius!!!
Benedetta Innaro
it is a Donvan song not Villa Fudge
@cuteNADA1992
listen to this /watch?v=-g5B4DWlVX0
it's the original version of the song, and it was featured in Blues Brothers 2000
@KRISODEE Courtney Love/Hole are amazing. I agree, Joan's version of this song is WORLDS better, and I love Joan Jett more, but Hole made a lot of great music. Courtney is NOT Kurt, she's an artist in her own right.
Joan nailed this leaps and bounds better than Courtney Love's version. Courtney trashed it, Joan epitomized it!
JOAN JETT'S VERSION IS FUCKING BETTER ! Just Saying ;)
yo
yeah!!but the better is Julie Driscoll!!!!
Lana Del Ray ruined this Donovan classic. Joan Jett rocked it!!
????
