I live in place without a good kayak/ paddle shop nearby. Your videos are extremely helpful. I bought a fishing yak in April based on your reviews and couldn't be happier. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing! Would love to see this for people with a larger shape. Both my husband and kiddo have a hard time finding something that is comfortable without going up around their ears. They're larger in the middle so things tend to ride up.
Great video, very informative! I think that's a great point not made enough, the back is generally designed to sit higher than the front so you float in the water chest/face up.
Great video Dan. I’m gonna say it again you should consider taking a road trip to Arizona and paddle some of our lakes we have some great views out here in the old west.
hey Dan awesome video very educational full of information is always I got a question if you can get a chance to review it oru kayak I'd love to hear your take on what you think those kayaks are as far as performance and durability
Maybe it’s the season winds down. Right now I’m struggling to keep my head above water and post videos each week. I do really enjoy the podcast and talking paddle sports with other folks.
Ok I’m just gonna say it, please don’t bash me etc. I always have my pfd with me in my kayak where I can reach it and I do know if the craft ever flips I may not get to it. I’m taking full responsibility for my actions. I am a bit claustrophobic. I also don’t do any whitewater, just relaxing paddles in lakes or slow moving creeks and rivers. Now that has been said I would love an ultra light pfd. Do they make anything of this sort? I’ve seen some SUP users with the belts on, would you think these would work with a kayak? Or does any brand make one without the back flotation? I live pretty rural and we don’t have any stores to check any out. I’d appreciate any insight so I can paddle more safely and responsibly, and maybe level up on which water I feel safe in. Love your videos guys! Very helpful and insightful! 👍🏼
Is it possible to come into the Lodi shop to try on/buy PFDs? I’ve had a hard time finding one that fits my body properly but still has the features I want.
We can't find PFD's for someone with even a small belly. My wife and I even tried very expensive ones on. All of them ride up unless they are real tight. The most expensive ones were lightly better because they aren't as hard and bend to form fit better, but still not great. The only salvation are the straps on the sides catch under the armpits. Why doesn't someone understand this and make the side straps higher on the PFD? Another option would be the belt clip some have could be made to go under a belly. Fisherman are typically over weight. I asked a high-end specialty fishing company with a store about this and they didn't know a PFD should not ride up because "they all do."
2 minutes and covered one of the most important topics on the water. Thanks so much! 👍👍

New to kayaking here in Ohio. Your videos are very informative. Keep them coming. They help a lot.

I agree. My days of a greyhound shape are long behind me.
Just got my Stohlquist Descent last Friday. Holy crap! I freakin' love it!
Great video, very informative!

Great video! I see a lot of people wearing their life jackets improperly
Have you done any videos regarding the best life vests?
The best PFD is the one you're wearing and fits correctly. The more comfortable it is, the more inclined one will be to always wear it.

Thanks Dan!! As always a great tip video. Looking forward to your next installments!

I just got one. I love it.
Great video. Have to show this to the wife. How about a new podcast? Life on the road?

Welcome back to Bend, Dan!
Becoming my home away from home. Love it up there.
When is the video on the Equinox coming out? Not much out there about this boat.
Yay, it dropped today! Thank you!

Hey Ethan remember me 🤗
Did you find a kayak?!
This is not captioned, not sure if you can turn those on

Wait - people adjust them? I just open it up entirely and then fight to get it zipped up. I'm 6'6" and 300 pounds on a very optimistic day.
🤣
