As you can see in the video, I really only died on the Tower 4 times during the run. What the "hardest room" counter keeps track of is the number of deaths that you've taken in the room since the game was loaded, rather than the number of deaths from the start of the new game. That line indicates that I died on the Tower 49 times since I originally loaded the game (which was due to practice and earlier resets). Hopefully that makes sense.
Thanks, and glad you enjoyed the run. I think everyone realized the problems with the way donations were handled this year, so hopefully the new method of handling (and reading/acknowledging them) works well. As in, have a ticker somewhere and read out the big donations and a few other ones sporadically. Or at least have someone familiar enough with the game (or runner) reading donation comments. However, it probably didn't help Mike that I talked a lot more than I originally planned, haha.
Hey bro great job on your run at SDA, btw they piss me off man, I wouldnt want to be interrupted to listen to the guys say "so and so donated (hey what you guys do is great)" ad nauseum and infinitum. Btw I DIDNT miss the checkpoint glitch in the tower, and I thought it was really nifty! lol thanks for the entertainment man.
What the fuck. Dping things the hard way. You literally just went there, got the trinket and left. On my first try, I spent like 4HOURS on that room. Good job.
Thanks! It could have been so much better though (RIP 17:43). I need to resist the urge to try and sub 17:40. Maybe if I were decent at line clips...and consistent at everything else in this game. 100% is just nearly impossible to do cleanly.
Maybe an example will make it easier to understand. Let's say before I do this run, I practice the Tower section a bunch of times and die 23 times in that room in total. Without completely closing the game, I play through the game and die 4 times in the Tower. The game will say at the end that my hardest room was The Tower with 27 deaths, instead of the 4 that I actually took. However, if I had closed the game before that play through, it would say the hardest room is The Tower with 4 deaths.
Hey man, can you please explain how to line clip? I mean I understand it is basically passing through the bounce line, but no one has ever explained how to do it. Even a brief explanation would be helpful. Thanks.
T0PH704gaming Line clips can only be done with horizontal lines that are close enough to the ground. While on the ground, press any flip key and then two frames later (not too bad since you have a 33 ms window centered around 67 ms) you need to hit flip again. It's all timing. You can read another explanation from Masterjun here: tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13849 (listed as Going through "Inversion Planes"). Hope that helps.

I love how he just passed the "Vertigo" room without dying when my total deaths in that room was like 180
JUGULATOR75 how
You just have to be patient (especially in the next room).
"Total Deaths: 23
Hardest Room (with 49 deaths)"
wtf?

Dude I heard this game was hard as hell, but damn! This beats Mega Man by a landslide (spikes)!

I just came from the Game Grump's attempt to play this game.
...this was a thing of beauty.
Extremely impressive!

Bruuuuuuuuhhhhh this is epic
How did you skip the section after you rescue the green guy?
If you mean the intermission, it appears at different times depending on what part of the game you played first
