I just started a breeding project with Kinixys homeana. Somehow I managed to bring a wild caught female into perfect health. By far my favorite genera of tortoises.
I love how he changes gloves each time to keep the turtle safe from contamination that you don't want on the turtles

I actually use to have one of these as a kid. But when we got him we didn’t know much about the species, and any kind of google searching wouldn’t provide us anything. Sadly it passed away. But very beautiful. I would let my beardies and him run around the house sometimes, and he would always try to bite my beardie lol.
So this guy uses a glove on his right hand but not on his left hand that he keeps handling them with.

Love your trips!! This man had some beautiful specimens 👍🏻 some of the stories about animals in other countries sure r sad, how they are kept for selling or trading 🙁 the holes drilled in their shell to hang is awful. Sharing stories like this helps ppl become aware. Then they can join together and stop those practices 👍🏻 didn’t they say the holes aren’t done anymore? Cool!

Kinixys are my favorite tortoises. I would love to find a CB erosa....
He has an awesome rack system for maximum storage of turtles. Would be cool to see you do something like this as well in New barn. You will have plenty of room to go height wise. I can see you going at least 5 or 6 high. And you can get a ladder on wheels to move around the perimeter of room.
