    Gordon Jenkins was an American composer, arranger, and conductor who was born on May 12, 1910, in Webster Groves, Missouri, and died on May 1, 1984, in Malibu, California. Jenkins was a highly respected and influential figure in the world of popular music, known for his sophisticated arrangements and his ability to create lush, orchestral soundscapes.
    Jenkins began his career as a pianist and arranger in the 1930s, working with a variety of big bands and vocal groups. He gained recognition in the 1940s as the arranger and conductor for Frank Sinatra's recordings with the Columbia Records label, including the classic album "In the Wee Small Hours" (1955).
