Same here! Had me looking at my past videos and pics of my 20 year old Chihuahua and 17 year old Miniature Schnauzer. I was in tears! The sun sets way too early now!
Bro I’m 41,some people think it’s crazy I want to live in a van…but the ones who know the real me,they are the ones telling me to go for it! I’m super pumped for my future full time van life! I car camp part time and absolutely love it!
@Campingandfishingwithandy yea im in my mid 30s. All the people that were close to me support me living on the road. Everyone else thought I was crazy and even a "bum". Oh well. This is my life
I'm sure many people have told you this but you are the one who inspired me to commit to Van life I was living in my pickup truck you might remember me sending you the video like 5 years ago! Anyway you inspire many people. We're all one big family now ❤️✌️😎
This is my first time commenting 😊 I am a part-time van-lifer. When you made the comment that life is better with a van parked in the driveway, I started nodding vigorously. I get away in my van as much as I can. It has made my life so full; given me space and freedom when I need it; and peace and quiet when I crave it. It has made me feel so secure within myself. Even though I own a home, there’s something in the knowledge that if I have my little house on wheels, I’m going to be ok xx
I'm 56 and thanks to watching and learning from Chrome, I've been living happily in my SUV for the past 6 years... If Chrome's BEAST is as big as a Bathroom, then I guess mine is a Broom Closet! 😅😅😅
I love your shop. I love your van. I love the business you're developing, I love Emi, I love Cruzzie, I love your channel and I love YOU! Why the hate?? Because they're just haters, and that's what haters do! They gripe and complain, they always find fault. They're just miserable folks. Easy does it Chrome~
I live in my van when work doesn't give me a hotel. Family & friends don't understand, but I am never renting or owning a real home/apartment ever again.
I couldn't have said it any better moving into a van has been the best. It has had its ups and downs but rather live in a van than sticks and bricks. Stay weird my family stay weird. As I say in my videos we are a weirdo nation and a weirdo family. Thank you chrome and Cruz for introducing me to vanlife
41, I will be buying a van this year and moving in full time. Watching Chrome now since the beginning of his journey and it legit looks like an awesome lifestyle, it’s got its ups and downs but it seems to bring some real joy to life. Who wouldn’t want to wake up at the beach or down by the river! Cheers Chrome and thanks for the awesome content as usual.
71 years old& starting Lol been shitting in a bag on occasions. Long trip to a portapotty oh starting out from New Jersey U.S.A Got big Agnis for an early Christmas present Better than my bed. Even got Xmas lights inside. Merry Christmas to all.
I'm 61, and started my permanent mobile living journey in June of this year. Not exactly van life...not wanting to give up my Jeep (which I lived in for three and half months 2 years ago), I converted a 5x8 cargo trailer to haul behind it. I'm not sure how long I can do it full time, but I don't see "settling down" anytime soon.
🇬🇧🦋we only live once , I love the vibe of vanlife …. Can be in touch with magical moments , know one knew would happen like the beautiful sunsets . I loved seeing Disco yesterday , I forgot to pop a comment down … made a few tears fall , but happy tears as he had a fantastic life , Disco certainly was a Disco Ball , much missed but not forgotten 🐾 💕
Hey Godfather, you’re beginning with epic. Your energies just bleeding through my screen. Thank you so much for what you do for all of us. Weirdos unite!❤
Exactly Chrome, you are so right . Having a van even just to have some special moments makes a big difference in life, I speak from personal experience. 🌹👋🏽
Bought my van!!! It was right up the road and priced right, a Roadtrek, kind of wish I'd waited to find a high roofed van to get Andy's package put in! I'll keep my sticks and bricks for the first year! You Chrome and others made me aware of this lifestyle ❣️❣️❣️
I built out and have lived in a cargo trailer I self converted five years ago. I’ve put aside 25-30k for a new build and I’m thinking I’d really do better in a van now. Thanks for your channel.
A 2004 Toyota Highlander has been The Answer for Me for the past 6 years! And she crossed A HALF A MILLION miles on her this past year. I'm so Happy and Proud of my Micro Home!!!
Hi Chrome! Thanks for sharing your days with us. I will be 51 on Christmas Eve and I bought a Promaster in July!! I am getting it built out the second week of January and am so excited to get on the road and adventure!! Not sure what I am doing yet and all I have in the van is a bucket chair, cooler and toilet haha but I love it already! Happy travels!
I’m 49, single. Lost my job a few months back. Been watching you for a few years. Been thinking about doing the van life for as long. Live in Ottawa so thinking of going out west. Love the mountains and the ocean. Just worried about keeping warm. Also lost my left leg below the knee last year so mobility is somewhat of an issue.
Really at this point in my life it’s detrimental for me to remain in a sticks and bricks and a relationship that is at best painful! I’m retired and get a comfortable amount of income to live modestly in a converted box truck!
I did think about living on the road about 4 years ago. Although I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. By the way, somewhere around 95% of stage 4 cancer of any kind is a death sentence. I know I might have been able to live in a vehicle and go have my treatments. I NEEDED my support people who cared for me and prayed for me. I was in remission for a year. Then, I was diagnosed with stang 4 cancer in 2 lymph nodes in my chest. So now I no longer think it's something I can or am willing to do!!
So sorry to hear that. I have cancer too. Waiting on a scan to see if it has spread. If I can get my van fixed up, I might live in it while getting treatment. Possibly D H Anderson in Houston.
The video back in the day, when you lost sweet Disco-Bear, crushed my heart Chrome. Your real emotions. Your not afraid to show who you really are...Thats why we watch you, and have since day one, and will be here til the day you decide to end Vancity Vanlife ( if that day ever comes)
Loved yesterdays video, I like all of them actually. They just keep getting better and better. I have been following you from the start and I have so enjoyed the changes you have made in your life, the positivity you talk about. You have helped so many people including myself 😊 I am lucky to know you and call you a friend. Be safe and keep those double V’s up! Weirdos Unite!
What more would I want out of life? A home in Dawson City, Kitimat, next to every lake, and beach in BC, and at the base of every mountain. Also homes in California, Montana, Arizona, and anywhere else I can drive it.
You're a die-hard van lifer. But you've made the best out of it, creating a business and content creator. It's your life journey, and it's an inspiration. You are really an anomaly when it comes to this kind of lifestyle. But it goes to show you you can make anything out of it.❤
Chrome, you are an inspiration. I am currently int he middle of building my own weekend camper "van" (Not a van, but a jeep). I plan to use it for weekend/day trips and "test the waters" of full time van life. Thanks for the great content
The only time you have to take knee pads off is when you take a shower. You can walk in them, drive in them and sleep in them. I wear knee sleeves 24/7. Different but I only take them off to shower.
Bro, I keep waiting for you to discover yoga mats. My two dogs and I have used yoga mats in MN cold for years. Light weight, portable, easy clean, slip free, stylish, cushy and warm. Let me know if you have tried them.
There’s definitely pros and cons to both sides of this life choice. I love your honesty! I’m curious for sure. Thanks for sharing and being so real!! Now though that I’m on the other side of my mortgage and finally owning my home…which was super hard to accomplish…I have more financial flexibility to also have the freedoms you enjoy. There are things I appreciate about both lifestyles! Stay cool ✌️Be safe!!
I had a dream about you. In my dream l seen your van and you were busy hauling stuff in or of your van and I waited passionately to say hi and just as I was going to approach you to say a polite hi my dream stopped woke up pissed because I wanted to say hi. I have been following you from the beginning of your channel, and I love every vlog you do! Give Cruz a big of from me! Your awesome Chrome!❤❤❤❤❤
If you're coming to Hamilton Ontario, my partner and I live an hour away and would love to meet up. We made a build for our Tuscon so we can take extended road trips. Would love to show you what we did! 😊
Been living tiny since 2012. Tiny house, tiny class C, 33’ class A, 37’ class A, and now Promaster with diy class B since 2020. Definitely a lifer 😂. Oh and I’m 67!

Hi Chrome, A lot of people have no choice. It is a sad situation when they have to.
I think you guys are forgetting about some of us who are the “armchair vanlifers.” We enjoy following entertaining van-lifers like Chrome but have less than zero interest in living outdoors effectively. I also enjoy watching the process of Van Toys and Overland becoming an ongoing business. I follow seven van lifers, three in Canada and four in the US. Back in the 60s travel shows were very popular on television. I think that following van lifers on UA-cam is one of the current-day aspects of that. Of course there are still travel shows both on television and even more so on UA-cam. It all depends on the style of the content creator and the composition of their content.
