- Welcome back to Space Engineers Survival 2024! We've got a problem. There are too many red signals on the screen and it's time to do something about that. Armed with autocannons, the De-Caffinator is ready for some outpost-action. In this episode we also plan out a massive hangar for the AMG Sandstorm and make a few small base upgrades.
If you like the video, be sure to leave comments and hit that like button! That's how I know to make more of these!

Well it seems it about time for a salvage ship to grind all those conquered outposts down fast and transport all the goodies back to base! :D
And I think a room like a controll center on the base would be cool. with Panels where u can see the overall power and power income, the oxigen and graphs about all the stuff. :3
I was thinking the same.
I think it’d be dope if it was a second floor too
@@Canoby "unnessesary but cool" is the essence of Space Engeneers! :D
You should use the PAM AI to mine out a majority of that ice area. You can use the smaller miner to do finer edge mining!
I had the same idea.
Yes, but don't waste the ice. He could make lots of O2 gens and tanks to really take advantage of the situation.
You also get the power cell out of hydrogen engines. Its only batteries that scrap.
Also the research points you can spend in certain trader stations for "upgrades" but you need millions of space credits 😊
I think the decafinator should have a projector protected inside of it to project a "repaired" version of itself overlaid with the "broken down after fight" version. This way the welders underneith it will readd the blocks that were completelly destroyed in battle.
Why not add a Data center? For your event controllers, Timers, and Emotion displays: You can add a rotor block, take off the large head and add a small one, add a pillar of light armor blocks, then add a bunch of timers and event controllers. Saves a lot of space and components. On ships it saves a lot of weight too. Basically you can add 125 event controllers/timer blocks/programming blocks/ LCDs/ etc… in a 2 large block area.
"Do you get power cells back from the shelf?"
Yes, and there is one other block you can get them back from, the Hydrogen Engine.
you also used to get them back from jumpdrives but i havent tested it for a long time, may be different now
Shelves and Hydrogen Engines are the two blocks that give back power cells.
YAY!!! Another Andrew video! Awesome! Let's get the AGM Sandstorm FLYING again!
The research points are used at the Upgrade Console in space stations near the projection table where you can sell ships. You can use the points to make yourself immune to the Anti-Jetpack and Personnel fields, along with a few other handy abilities.
The bedroom is SO awesome!
Also, if you want an easy way to drill a specific space, such as the hangar, you could go into a creative world and lay down a box of the correct shape, and then blueprint it. Then in this world, a projector projects the box where you want the hangar, and then you can drill to shape without having to place all the blocks right away.
I would use PAM to drill out all that ice. Then make a ton of hydrogen tanks and O2 gens to have a massive stockpile of fuel on reserve.
that was a hard takeover but well done
That dance at 24:33 🤣
This was a great episode! Love the claiming. Loved the design work and building of both the landing platform area and also the penthouse thing. So good! Also the singing was fun! Great episode!!
The fact that power cells can be placed on shelves is really good rp wise or for salvage only servers!
The shelf is not the only block from which you get the powercells back, you also get them back from hydrogen engines.
Also feel like you need a more robust ship for taking out the outposts
As soon as you said Frontier Outpost, I knew exactly what kind of pain was waiting. I hate those lol
Maybe you could do a double hinge door for the Sandstorm's hangar, with a program to set off lights and alarms for the departure of the ship
If anything, that penthouse is 50000sc lol. Love the series man keep it up!
Why not turn a conquered base into a mobile utility vehicle. Hydrogen wouldn't be a problem and it would seem they come equipped with most of the resources to convert them. It'll also be an easy way to transport large amounts of resources for the building / upgrading the sandstorm. I'd say convert it into a warship to get revenge on those who crashed it. Put some teeth on her.
I have been toying with the drones I’ve made and have the speed set to 40m/s. I’ve noticed that when the waypoint that sets collision avoidance on is when it goes. While it’s off, it’s slow moving. So far no issues for me but I had to speed mine up. That 20 m/s was killing me. I might bump it to 50 and see how it goes.
49:15 lol Dwayne Johnson doesn't have much to worry about! 😋 Nice rendition of "You're Welcome" though. 😂
Seriously though. Your hanger design gives you slot of room up top for more defenses (unless you plan to have your hanger door in the roof instead of the side). It pushes out far enough that you can cover your solar farm fro attack a bit.
As for the solar farm, you should consider adding another tower or two to it as your power consumption is starting to go up.
For your oxygen production, if memory serves, you have some O2 generators on base. Instead of delivering oxygen, you could have ice delivered and let the generators break it down into oxygen. You could just build a new delivery shuttle to bring in ice and have your miners stop dumping the majority of the ice they collect during their mining process. Maybe have them keep like 20% of it and dump the rest. That'll bring in enough to supply all of your bases.
All good ideas! The hangar is going to be a top-opening one because the AMG Sandstorm is much too large to go in any other way, but I agree that there will be lots of space for added defenses! For O2 and H2, my ideal setup would be processing it at the PAM base and transporting it back to the main base (and anywhere else) using dedicated gas transport ships. Even though I have the O2/H2 generators on the main base, the ice is already going to the PAM base so if I can process it there, I think that would be the most efficient.
Little fish,is running around :)
That was a great episode! The creative juices are really flowing I can tell hahaha I guess this calls for a grinder/scrapper ship!
It's probably about time for a scrapper!
love your vids keep up the good work. i think you need to improve your attack fighter to have better armor and weapons. and maybe a better fuel tank.
42:40 can even play some space engineers there
The biggest problem in salvaging the sandstorm will be all the doom-voxels inside the blocks. Things like that for justify the ‘drill,n,fill’ mod, so won’t have to find, drill then re-weld most of the ship. If you were going to do that it would be easier to just rebuild it from scratch! Also I think you got distracted from your vertical miners!
Yeah doom pixels could be a problem, but I'm going to be optimistic! And you're right, I do often forget what I said I'd do next episode in the previous episode!
As you progress the game you could add bigger weapon mods and shields. And of cause the mods that gives the npcs shields and weapons too
You should try building a drill station so you don't have to constantly keep collecting ore from the ground once the drills piston reaches the max you can retract it to get the ore it collected
I still feel like you need a control-room for all the data on your station. Screens with power management, and other practical information. Is the station pressurized? I vote for a bedroom/control-room.
Resarch ponits --> Trade Operators Coalition, this is the MES mod that spawns the trading stations where you can sell grids and buy suit upgrades.
Thank you for the clarification! I might have to add that mod lol it sounds cool!
@@AndrewmanGaming If I may add, you will want to look for anti-personnel field nullifiers and the like in the seats and lockers of the base/ship you have captured.
RESEARCH POINTS: You can find suit upgrade terminals in some trading outposts that you can spend research points (and lots of cash) on upgrades like the anti-personnel field nullifier and solar charging.
Does this work with inventory size?
I've never found any of those stations 😮 I need to look more I guess
@@DC_Joker187 Should be in a TRADE faction station if that helps 👍
@@TheGameGuy2024 I'm not sure and can't find a list of upgrades online for you. You'll have to find an upgrade bay in a TRADE faction station and see in-game to see.
yay ! the Darude Sandstorm is going to be brought !
It may be to late now, but what if you put the hanger by the solar panels and use it as a giant portable defense pillbox.
Dumb, expensive, and impractical idea that would totally work only once!: Build a massive P L A N K of drills underneath a larger cube plank attached to a buncha pistons on the edges so you can just use a controller connected to all the pistons and remotely mine for maximum laziness and maximum effectiveness! The next problem: getting all the ice back..
In the Server/Timer room, why not make some Server Racks? i.e., small grids with small grid timers, programmable blocks, and event controllers? Connected to the base with a Rotor or Hinge.
That's a good idea!
Set up a drill platform to drill out hanger for ice H2O2 generators for air
You should make the base look like an aircraft carrier, and it's been frozen in the surrounding landscape. Just a thought.
Ooooo that would look really cool!
You get power cells back from anything but batteries.
VERY entertaining! \(^_^)/
A bit sad that the Sand Storm did not get a port on top of the CoFeNi bar, but, oh well...
Its not that far for engineers to go I suppose...
The sandstorm might be a bit too big for the cofeni bar!
@@AndrewmanGaming The way physics works in Space Engineers, all of what might NOT work in real life, turns out to be stupidly easy tho.
The Sandstorm, sitting up on a 'mile high' [more of a phrase than a literal measurement] space port, being defended by a large, powerful capitol ship, would seem [at least in RP] a very safe and secure place to shop and take a little R&R as a traveling space engineer.
Yes, I realize that many S.E. ships are in fact MAGNITUDES BIGGER than the Sandstorm, but to bring those in would likely crash the game, unless one were working on one super powerful server. [I am guessing you don't have one of those?]
If I were rich, I would host my own S.E. server with a whole lot of really outrageous PCU and mod limits [as in stupidly high], but one thing holding me up from doing that, is the simple fact that even in the year 2024, I'm [basically] running on dial-up connection for the indefinite future.
I even have some of the hardware and framework to build such a monster server, and a brother who is a super electronic master engineer who DESPERATELY WANTS to build me a server...
But without a connection to the outside world...
I can't host an email account from here.
I would love to have a server with like trillions of PCU worth of server hot-rack capacity, but at this moment, it would like building a Saturn V rocket in one's basement...
You couldn't use it.
Maybe some year...
Maybe not...
Finally
Name the o2 and hydrogen ship the Nitro Expresso!
I think Energy Efficiency Modules return their power cells.
Just drill out your hanger ice and dump it into a cargo with o2/h2 on it, add in a couple of oxygen tanks and boom, unlimited air. You're over complicating things.
He should probably also double-check his conveyor connections to make sure the base's O2/H2 generators are hooked up correctly. He might have accidentally disconnected them from the O2 tanks at some point, or made it so they can't retrieve ice.
Why not just have the transport drone bring ice over? You have plenty of h2o2 generators which would also fill hydrogen on the base.
36:20 drills and pistons Andrew, drills and pistons
ORRRR... a PAM setup with the vertical miner!
@@MooseMan44 meh.. too obnoxious to set up and when it goes wrong is not funny, when drills and pistons go wrong, on the other hand.... xD
@@MisterZealotyou must be a low hour player. It would take longer and be 20x more obnoxious to use drills and pistons 😂
I can set PAM up in like two minutes by memory. But I guess 8429+ hours does that to a player.
Why not just build a ground-based automated ice mine and refinery and just pump it back to your base?
What are you gonna do with the broken ship on the PAM base?
sing until you suffocate
Hmm is there not any oxygen in the atmosphere? I know that we can get oxygen by depressurizing an air vent outside.
There's no oxygen on this moon it seems, but some other planets have oxygen!
You didn't work on the Sandstorm this episode
Scrap the base you attacked
can´t PAM do it?
No keep offscreen scrapping
To bad this game isn't co-op
bro what? ofcourse there is
Need a grinding ship with at least 2 large cargo containers
