Since I finally was able to be near an Orthodox Church and come home to the original Church, that is my experience too. Many songs play in my head al the time. As does the Jesus Prayer anything something troubles me, or I wake in the middle of the night and need to go back to sleep.
This is beautiful-sends shivers down my spine. Perfect contemplative piece. Even though I'm not Orthodox, singing this song, and other Orthodox chants, I feel like I'm connecting myself to the Communion of Saints, the eternal Body of Christ around the world and through the ages, and warding off the immense spiritual darkness which surrounds me.
+Tomorrow We Live +lokijuh I'm not just saying this simply for the sake of preaching but out of sincere concern. As we Orthodox beleive that to remove oneself from the church and to change the tradition and teaching will lead to failure. If you truly feel that your church does not hold the full spirituality of the faith and has fallen short. Seek out that which has retained it. God's peace and blessings be with you.
+AlmondWillow Thank you for your blessings and advice but I love my church, and leaving it would be as painful as a divorce. Orthodox faith is more true to the original faith but it also contains falsehood and heresy like the aerial toll houses and the all-male Mt Athos. I don't know if any church is fully in line with the original faith but I know that love of Jesus Christ will cover all flaws, so I have to trust in Him to take me where he needs me.
+lokijuh There aren't really any toll houses in orthodoxy. The doctrine simply refers to the fact that the soul still experiences things after death. And Mount Athos is not a theological doctrine. It's just a monastic peninsula that was set apart on honor of Mary. It has nothing to do with orthodox theology.
As a Pentecostal church member I absolutely love this song! We are all United by faith in Christ! May God bless all his children in every denomination. Thank you my orthodox brothers and sisters for singing such a beautiful song!
Please, may I ask a question? When I read Revelation for the first time, and several times after that, I always thought that the verse that says, "Come out of her my people" pertained to no believers becoming believers, you know coming out of the world, repenting, believing, being baptised as a cognizant being.... But just recently, looking more closely at the whole chapter, Yah is addressing the 7 chuches, why is He telling us to come out of "her"? What is wrong with "her"? Difficult for me to grasp. I think other than orthodox, at some stage during my life, I've attended just about every denomination. A fair amount of differences, yet all believe they have it correct🤔
@@dancing4himonly hello and thank you for a charitable reply and question. So about 20 years ago I started following this bible teacher named brother Harold Camping. Look him up you will see he taught extensively on the end of the church age and how Jesus was going to come back to judge the world in 2011. He actually had a few dates from 88, 89, 2007. Obviously jesus didn’t come and brother Harold camping is considering to other evangelicals as a heretic and false prophet. So one thing he taught highly on is the 7 churches of revelation. He taught that this message for the churches was to show that eventually the churches would become so corrupt that we would all need to leave out local congregations, no matter the denomination. He was a reformed Baptist Calvinist. So with that being said I left my church then. At that time in my life I looked all churches as corrupted by Satan and I would go around spreading the “real” gospel message of leaving your church. Now that I have left that type of reading of the Bible when I read the 7 churches i can see that yes, some of these churches need more correction, Jesus asks those churches to repent, did they repent? Well that’s hard to truly say, we are living just about 2000 years after this was written. But just like with any church no matter the denomination, we will have leaders who will fall at times, it’s part of sanctification, we will have regular members who are not ordained also fall, that’s part of sanctification, but we can come back to God through repentance. God is giving a stern warning about the pitfalls of being undisciplined.
This is why it’s also important to pray for your leaders at church. I’ve gone from having a reformed view of Christianity to a Pentecostal view. I flirted with orthodoxy for a while, but now I’m Roman Catholic. It’s not because I’m Mexican lol. I’m a convert to the Catholic Church. I used to be part of the camp that believed the Roman Catholic Church was the Antichrist. What helped me get passed that hurdle was realizing that apostolic succession of bishops is a real and truthful concept. Orthodoxy actually helped me realize this but learning about St Peter role in the church and also reading early church fathers on this subject of the bishop of Rome (not the Roman Empire) being the supreme patriarch of the church. So that and the Eucharist has brought me to believe in what I believe now. May the peace of Christ be with you!
