My beautiful husband, John Hadden was a surfer too. He passed away two months ago. John loved watching your vlog. You gave him the inspiration to build out a van and plan to retire early. Our claim was to surf and fish our way around the continental US.
He would have been stoked watching you out at Pipe, keeping it real for the east coasters.

I feel like Ben’s just starting to get comfortable out there. Taking his time being humble going for the scraps and making the best of it. I know he could ride some of those back door bombs but doesn’t wanna press his luck with the locals aka Jamie makes me feel comfortable out there. I only see Ben’s surfing rising and I’m happy to see it.

the second thing I learned in hawaii was to never ever even paddle for a wave that a local was paddling for.... the third thing I learned was that if a local tells you to go on a wave, you go no matter what, doesnt matter how late or how big that wave is, its kinda like tough love for haoles
Absolutely correct. Long time ago, I was in position and told to go. I paddled hard but back out last second. They ran me off.

Ben - I am watching more and more of your vlogs, because they're always interesting and you keep it real and live in the moment. Was watching you and Jamie at Pipe, and you did very well on that formidable wave; and it's natural to be nervous before you paddle out. It is a good thing to know your limits, but also O.K. to push your limits once in awhile. Congrats on your anniversary (I'm a little late as I saw this vlog was a year old). Shows you where our heads have been for the last year and a half. Stay positive, be kind to yourself and others, and enjoy the life that is yours.

Legend..people are claiming you stole a fin screw from Jamie..his filmer had to paddle out with a fin screw missing....we know different..you would never use an odysea fin screw on a wave bandit..)
The Gravy started out kinda thin and unrefined back in the day...But over the years the Gravy has become quite thick and much more refined. I recommend the thick Gravy and a few warm Buttermilk Bizzket's on da side! Cheers from the Lone Star State !

Great app but it crashes when you have a few seconds of the app and the screen to make a difference to the screen to make a difference to you to the game screen and the game screen is a good 😌 app for a little while to see the game and it has been the most game I’ve ever had since I downloaded this for my iPod and I had the app to play for hours while I had a good time with the game screen to make t to get the W off of the house 🏡 and I can get
I gotta say...after all these years watching......you truly earned and deserve all the respect you got. It ain't easy getting a wave on Oahu especially at Pipe. Yeah you ate it a few times but got some killer waves as well. That's how you do it .....and major thumbs up to whoever gave you the confidence to grab rail and drop knee on those heavy lefts.......such a major accomplishment to your already awesome skills. Back in 1979 my leash actually wrapped around the coral head and I had to pull it off to get above the water at pipe. So I was wondering if your new leash has a release pin? I just upgraded my leash because I'm starting to climb back up and surf size again... And I really wanted that release pin!

Other than than you'll be all good man... People don't realize big pipe is alot safer than small pipe bc of the amount of water pushing in. 🤙

Its crazy how pipe can make even a good surfer look like he is riding switch, ben looked uncomfortable as hell going backside. Just goes to show how amazing the pipe masters are at surfing!
