Richard Ashcroft has got his own spirit and influence on people. He is as he is. Doesn't change himself for any reason. The same wife, the same family. Not pretending anything for the sake of money. On the stage he closes his eyes and sings from his heart with all of the spectrum of his emotions and feelings. You can feel it from his voice, which in itself is strong and powerful (I'm not talking about the loudness but about the purity and some sort of being natural without faking anything to show off). He is a kind of an artist you either admire or simply dislike.
I like his style and expression. He doesn't care but at the same time he is soft in himself.
Beautifully said. Richards’s voice is so unusual and his vocal style & control means he doesn’t need much else in a song, though he writes deep stuff & his touch on orchestration is superb.
fantastic song, great video, no fancy cinematography just Ashcroft's soul and personality, Britain's best singer songwriter enjoying his own music, and seeing his confidence and listening to his vocals inspires.

And now whenever I listen to it, I feel nostalgic for, and even like it is, 2016. In a sad way, because now I feel like I MISS it.
I first became aware of this musician in 2013, when I downloaded his solo song "Human Condition" from Google Play Music because it was the free song of the day. And in 2016, I just had no interest in his music....
What can i say about this genius theres not enough superlatives to describe this man's craft ever since i bought urban hymns soo long ago was actually the first ever cd i ever purchased & now have every verve album and all his solo albums and i adore them all it's like fine wine.. you know when i going through bout's of depression bad days anxiety.. his music seems to help me somehow and i am so thankful for his music and hope he makes many more albums defo one of best songwriters this country has ever had

Just got this album & this guy is AWAKE. Love some of these lyrics. & he's so effortless with it. Actually "They don't own me" just had me picking up my guitar for the first time in literally months. Three/four chord anthems, Ashcroft at his best.
Is it just me or does Richard directly talk to us and knows we are great minds alike? I wanna see this man live my big brother seen the Verve he's no longer here but he got me in to the Verve and Richard when I was young. I remember the days of bitter sweet sympathy before school. Memories to last a life time hope you come to Belfast sometime soon and of course vaccines and CPR tests won't be needed as this great man is against the plannedemic

I'm a life long Verve and Richard Ashcroft fan, I have to say at first I was not really feeling this latest album...but I went to see him at the o2 and was reminded of how amazing he is! I've listened to the lyrics of the songs again and now It is obvious to me what he is saying, I'm on the same level as Richard, he understands what is going on in the world, he has an optimism and defiance in his songwriting which shows us he still there making important music with integrity, unlike 99% of the crap that is on our radio these days, superficial materialistic spangly bollocks. Richards video is unimportant, it's the sentiment of the lyrics which matter to me in all music. I hope he keeps on writing REAL honest music.
