i use an empty toothpase tube that i cut open a bit at the front and the back so i can route the cable through and wedged it between my two monitors. Its similar to the "tape hack" but that way you can make the cable originate a bit closer to the center of the pad so the cable can be shorter and you can still reach the whole pad. Its pretty gentle to the cable too because if you accidentally pull on the cable too much, more cable can just slide through the tube. And during normal use the cable length doesn't change.
I came up with it because I heard that some people use straws as bungees but i didn't have a straw and i feel like a toothpast tube is even better because its easier to attatch to a monitor and it's more sturdy.
