Depressed folks often have the best humor precisely because they're depressed. Its a defense they build up and mastered and honed it like a martial artist hones their fighting abilities.
Well, hard to tell, because whenever there's a suicide, seems to be a lot of folks that say "But *insert person here* was always joking and getting others to smile all the time. I don't understand."

Why are there so few cast interviews about Bojack Horseman?
It's such popular and critically acclaimed series and the only cast interview I can find is this video and none of the actors seem to have press interviews or convention panels which I feel like a show like this really should have some !!

It's awesome that this show, despite being filled with talking animals, is one of the most realistic shows i've ever seen. It covers every single darkness in life and yet is still able to make laugh. This is why I love dark humor so much.

Yeah Aaron Paul’s Todd voice is different from his regular voice and his Jesse voice. But whenever Todd is being serious or yelling, like in his “it’s you” speech, all I hear is Jesse.
@ts_mythicality Exactly! And this is not merely true for Aaron Paul in the role of Todd here, yet voice acting as a whole.
I think there's a reason for that.
When doing a certain character's voice, you usually have a certain attitude in mind that you act out with emotion rather than just altering your vocal color.
As NEUROGENISIS said, he makes his voice sound cute and childish, in a way.
That means when one has to voice act parts of extreme emotion, it gets very hard to keep that character's unique feel since one can't sustain that 'emotional baseline' in the voice.
hearing a room full of bojack character voices but they are actual people is so funny to me. they all have such a good sense of humor (no shit) and i love it
Paul F Tompkins is literally Mr. PB in real life. I liked everybody on the panel, but this interviewer had the actual worst questions. It was like he was repeating himself the whole time.

I was baffled at Tompkins, because he speaks _just_ like Mr. Peanut-Butter in the show.
I always thought the VA would give Mr. PB this 'excessively bengin' voice intentionally -- but judging by this interview, that friendly delivery appears to be his actual default way of speaking.
Someone needs to animate Mr Peanutbutter doing Paul F Tompkins standup, even his jokes sound like stuff that Mr PB would talk about

I've been obsessed with Alison Brie since community. The more she keeps doing awesome roles the happier I am.
Community actors seem to be doing well mostly. Alison is obviously doing great (and is some kind of goddess either way), the Russo brothers (who worked in Community and IW/Endgame) got Danny Puddi on Winter Soldier, and Donald Glover has taken over the world for breakfast.
And not only the Russo brothers hit it big with those incredible movies, Dan Harmon also hit the jackpot with a certain cartoon that everyone knows about.
As a Community fan, all I feel is pride. And a little bit of sadness that out of so many people listening to Gambino, taking about Thanos or R&M, so few of them have ever watched Community, which is just as fantastic. :(

I feel like the only problem people have with the show is the animation, but... think of it like this: If the animation was really impressive, or if the show was live action with all humans, it'd be WAY too dark, and most of the humor would disappear leaving out the masterful balance.
will arnett and the actor for mr peanutbutter (i cant remember his name) both act like their characters. will has dark humour and is extroverted but only talks every now and then while the actor for mr pb is loud and happy and positive

Dee Whoa I’ve always thought he doesn’t like the show as much as the others. He never talks about it outside of when forced to and he isn’t ever at any of the press meetings. I think he took it for the money and then thought it would be a one season paycheck. Then it blew up and he was there.

@@paperchasindude6578 A lot of people, me included, was put off with by the first episode. Really, the first three to six episodes isn’t really that good. Episode seven is when it began to get intriguing. You can either force yourself to watch the first episode and binge the whole thing, or, try watching the seven episode and see if you’re interested, and if you do, watch the whole thing. I thought the first half of the first season was very weak, but the second season was unexpectedly good.
