2024 sure was interesting year for sure. We got the Tricky Trials, which added trial chambers, a pretty banger update if I do say so myself. We got Armored Paws, the best drop imo since it added the best mob vote winner to date in the armadillo. We got Bundles of Bravery which at last finished the saga of adding stuff from Caves and Cliffs. And we got Garden Awakens which added the ability to pause on Bedrock Edition, the most groundbreaking feature of the year! Ohh.. and it added the pale garden too. That being said, I wonder how 2025 will go for Minecraft. I think the year could be very interesting for sure, especially since it'll be the first full year under the drop system (technically they started this year, but they didn't make the shift towards drops till late 2024).
Armadillos might actually be the worst because not only did it shaft extra reach but it's also completely redundant because sea turtles already exist, and wolf armor didn't even fix wolves. Also adding a mob that only exists to serve another is bad design "which added the ability to pause on Bedrock Edition, the most groundbreaking feature of the year" If pausing is considered groundbreaking then something is seriously wrong
I've been getting deeper into minecraft this year after over a decade just putzing around on it. Looking for Minecraft content, I found wattles and now I actively follow and enjoy every upload. Cheers, wattles! Your videos are top-tier.
Okay, but *to me*, this was a great Minecraft year! Think about it, we got 4 great updates, each adding something of value and they clearly pushed a few of their own boundaries! I never thought I would see the day we’d get wolf armor, but I’m glad we did! The bundles are also a fantastic addition to the game since we have more storage options. The creaking, while being the least good of the updates, is still a fun one to me! The tricky Trials update is my favorite this year. Everything from the trial chambers, to the new mobs, and the mace! Not to mention, no more mob votes! Thats one less thing for people to bicker about! Overall, if I were to rate this year in terms of the updates, I’ll give it a solid 8 out of 10! Is it on par with 1.13-1.18? Not quite, but it’s certainly a year that was worthwhile and I can’t wait to see what’s cooking for the future!
"we got 4 great updates" B.O.B and Tricky Trials were OK but 1.21.4 was completely worthless. The entire biome is just a botched copypaste Wolf armor would be completely fine if they actually fixed anything wrong with wolves and didn't add an entirely redundant mob instead of fixing the old scute source, not to mention armadillos shafted extra reach
