So glad you mentioned, "Plenty of water". Rode the Whole Enchilada from the very top Labor Day 2018. Blew through 3 Litres of water and ran out. Very hot day, 106. Rode for three hours without water. Very scary. For anyone riding, take twice as much water as you expect to use.
Agree. Do not underestimate your water. We rode on the "off season" (late July) because we were bike packing from Durango. It was HOT and 5 liters from the Burro Pass trailhead was barely enough. I had 2 liters on the frame and 3 on my back. Still, an amazing ride.
Wow I am so glad you made it without water on such a hot day!! I couldn't believe it either and it wasn't even to hot out and we were definitely not at the top. Such a fun trail and great experience I can't wait to go back and be able to do it from the top!!
Fun video. I used to live in Moab. It's fun to see others discovering our old stomping grounds. Back in the 90s, we rode those trails on hardtails and there were no food trucks so we always ended up at Eddy McStiff's.
I did the WE in the first week of Sept 2023. It was amazing and went through 4L of water. Got a flat (thorns) and my buddy fractured his arm on the Snotch. We finished the ride in 6hrs (at 49yrs old). Cant wait to go back. Heather this video was great as always.
Hey, total respect. I just came back from there and rode a bunch of EASY trails that stretched me beyond my comfort zone. You’re a rock star (that’s a partial pun). Thanks for sharing this.
Because of this video I went to Moab July 3 and experienced the Whole Enchilada. I’m the only woman in our group it was hot! Thanks you inspired me to keep on riding!
did TWE from the top a couple years back like 40mi. down the mtn, and all the different scenery was just beautiful. snow at the top, white aspen tree forests, then bush, sandy and then ROCK . just got my Sprinter van coming in soon, can't waitto build it and SEND IT
Our MTB club here in Buckeye AZ takes a trip up to Moab almost every year in September. We'll be up there the first week of September this year. Heading to Angelfire and Bentonville next month for a week of sick riding 🤘
Thanks for the video. Mid september to mid October for the WHOLE Enchilada (WE). ( Burro Pass, Hazard County, Kokopelli, UPS, LPS, Porcupine rim.) 3+ liters of water, lunch and snacks. I have done it 3 times. great ride. Budget 5 to 6 hours of riding plus breaks. Take the early shuttle (7AM).
The background in the distance just reminded me of those old school arcade racing games (foreground moving, background , stunning as it was. Added to my bucket list trails)
Definitely bucket list ride. I rode it this last weekend, was able to start from Kokopelli at the bottom of Hazard County so the 2/3rds enchilada. @9:35, I did the exact same thing and didn't realize how tight a squeeze that rock was.
that was gr8! I was suppose to make that trip this season, but not ready yet.... I am 50, w/ COPD, GOT MY WIND UP THIS SEASON, gonna train over the winter and heading out for end of spring next year..... love the video.
Nice video footage! Did this trail a few years back in early July and also couldn't start at the top due to snow drifts. Shuttle was only able to get us to start of Hazard County trail. Hope to get back to ride all the trails. Hey, that's why they call it the Whole Enchilada baby!
Love it!! We rode The Whole Enchilada back in May 2019… your vid brought back some great memories! Time to start planning another trip to Moab in 2022!
Hello 👋🏼. Moab is one of my most favorite places. This video randomly showed up and I’m so glad I clicked it. How would someone start with riding? What’s the best beginner bike? How do you get into starting to ride? What equipment is needed? Any and all information you can give would be so awesome. Thank you in advance!
Hey Shirley!!! So awesome thank you for watching and YAASSSSS so stoked to hear you want to ride. First off just get a mountain bike, head over to a local bike shop and see what options they have. I ride a Liv, its a women specific bike and I LOVE it. If you go into my description tab you can click the link to their site and check out all the great bike options. In my opinion what you need to start is a bike, helmet, knee pads and a bottle of water so you can spend hours on the trails. Don't be overwhelmed either, just hop on a bike and ride!! It will change your life!! Let me know how it goes and if you need anymore help, Im here 😊
My husband and I did this trail in early May 2018. We were the oldest and I was the only woman in our shuttle- bus group. We were not prepared for such an epic ride at all, no snacks, not enough water and I was using a Black diamond 24 inch kids bike then. Because I am only 5 foot tall. Most of all, we didn’t have enough training. Most of our rides before were under 10 miles at a time. So you can imagine how challenging it was for us that day. Cold on the mountain top, hot and extremely hot down to valley, exhausted and dehydrated half way, a few minor crashes caused scratches and bruises …. However, we managed to finish the whole ride ahead of half the people in our group. As soon as we cross the road through the big culvert, We rode to the campground on the riverside to look for water. One camper gave us too bottles of water and we gulped it all down within 10 seconds. Then rode another 8 or 10 miles back to town. This is my lifelong unforgettable memories. Will I do it again at age 58 and after ? Why not if I am still capable and well prepared. You will never know how strong, how capable you are and how much you can endure till you push your limits little by little. Thank you so much for sharing !!
What an epic ride! You and your buds make Moab look like xc, but I know better. When my husband and I were in our 20's we honeymooned at Sundance, where we rode the switch backs on the mtn. Then on the long drive back to Texas we stopped at Moab for some slick rock. So nice to relive some of that with you and your buds. Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
hahah Moab has it all xc and great downhill fast flowy sections, such a beautiful place. That so awesome you got to ride slick rock. I can't wait to go back and explore more of Moab and all its trails. thank you for watching 😊

Why not Milt’s?!?
My first Moab ride was 1987, full rigid bike. Live here now, still riding 37 years later.
I did the WE in the first week of Sept 2023. It was amazing and went through 4L of water. Got a flat (thorns) and my buddy fractured his arm on the Snotch. We finished the ride in 6hrs (at 49yrs old). Cant wait to go back. Heather this video was great as always.

Where did you guys camp at? Heading there in March

Love Moab. Have been on many trails with my two adult son’s. At 70 years young, I may be getting too old to handle the Whole Enchilada!!
You got it!!!! Moab is incredible, can't wait to go back
Subbed great channel thanks , some of those trails look brilliant, from a bone chilling UK :)
