I now have it set up on my plane. Works a treat. For some reason I didn't need the negative weights in the mixer (all mine are positive). Happy customer! Big thank you!
Thanks Darren! There is no need to apologise but it shows your real commitment and care to all of us watching and learning. I'm old school and always have done this mechanical but will give this a go to see if there is a different feel to it. I've learned lots from you around iNav and enjoy your presentations. Thanks and keep up the good work
Thank you Jeroen. I’m glad that you feel like that. All I want to do with these video is help people. But I also want for people to see me as genuine and honest. For me, a big part of that is owning up to and correcting mistakes. We all make them. But I’m probably quite harsh in myself when I do. So long as everyone is safe and enjoying flying, I am happy.
I love watching videos like this, because I learn something random and relatively obscure like Roll- and Roll+. Even if I don't use it for this specific purpose I bet I'll eventually think of something and be like "aha! I know what I can use for this!"
I tried out a new way of making the videos this time. I can now record all my cameras and screens at the same time. So it gives me more freedom in what I show on the screen and where. Before, I had to record from one source or scene at a time. What do you guys think?
Thank you for your work. I realy like your videos. I had trouble on mixing differential thrust in ethos. May you can make a video about that. Greetings from Germany.
Hi Darren, I've been watching and following your videos on the last few weeks now. I'm setting up my throws prior to maiden. Do you recommend setting up this Differential before or after autotune and auto servo tuning? Thank you.
Hey Darren This is GOOD stuff. I am building a twin seaplane and don't want adverse yaw but do want differential thrust for water handling. I'm concerned because in Inav you can't turn the diff thrust off and to co-ordinate a turn will likely need rudder (or differential aileron). Is there a way to turn the motor differential off while flying (or vary it with a switch or knob) ? Thankyou
Thanks Dave. Unfortunately not at the moment. It would be really handy if the motor mixer could make use of the logic conditions with an active column. Then it would be possible to select when differential thrust is used.
Just tried this in INAV 7.1.0. The down servos don't respond at all to roll commands. I haven't read through all the changes but the mixer options are still the same as in this video (which I've used many times before). Edit: Got it to work. The mixer fooled me - it shows S3 (L) and S4 (R) in the graphic above, but S1 (L) and S2 (R) below in the rules - This is wrong - similar to how it was wrong in this video way back when. I followed the numbers from the rules and it works just fine now.
There are 2 different numbers. In the servo table. It shows the servo order. This isn’t the same at the output mapping. That table shows the signal output, the same as the image.
@@MrD yes they worked, if i turn everything normal it wil act normal, so,, roll to the left "left aileron up and right aileron down". i also used the new inav 5.0 btw.. what i tried is multiple diffrent things in the servo mixer to get it maybe work but i left over with only one up and the other aileron that supposed to be slighty down that wasnt even moving.. also there is no red or green labels on servo mixers. on the plane picture there is only a number on the motor position so no red or green flags on the wings like servo 3 or servo 4 you know? i dont know how to fix it. hope you have any idea ! im bit new to the wings/planes stuff thanks :)
The colours has been noticed and fixed. So don’t worry about that. If you are new, I wouldn’t worry about differential. Just use the standard mixer for now. That is fine in most cases.

If this is aileron, you may not need negative weights. Depending on how the servos are in the wing.
Thanks Darren!

Nice - it's good to know there's always a way to make a model fly better.
Definitely. I’m hoping the weather improves soon so I can demo with it on and off.
@@MrD That would be interesting to see, also what it looks like if you have too much dialled in.

Totally Frank. Stabilised + and - were new to me too. That simple mixer looks to have hidden tricks.
@@MrD I thought the exact same thing when you said it was simple in the video 😜

Another good one! Learned some more today!
Thanks Alan 👍
Thanks, needed this video very much today 😊
Glad I could help 👍🏻
Thanks Darren, another great video.
Thank you Davie.
Great explanation, thanks a lot.

Thanks Stefan. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. I've added differential thrust to the list 👍

Thanks Edgar. If you want to use differential. Set it up before tuning and trimming.

on my wing it wil not mix the ailerons. so if i roll left, only the left aileron is moving up.. what cause this problem?
To be honest, there really isn't enough information there to diagnose this? Were they working before you tried to add differential?

Perché non farlo anche in ethos?
