Having such detailed mod breakdown for the video is really A+ man. Above and beyond to not just showcase a mod but include the load order to achieve the state you showcased it in.
IM MODDING the game for over 2 years now ond and off. ALways hoped to reimagine the combat system but could never really get it to work. after a couple off days i finally got your mods to work and i have to say its a welcome change. I love the pasing and the weight it gives combat. hit and slashes have weight to them and enemies react really good. im in aw
You're lucky you came in when you did. None of this was remotely possible for over ten years of Skyrim modding. The best attempts at it were some janky alternate movesets, animation replacers that would glitch out if they didn't precisely match vanilla parameters and, the BIGGEST development in Skyrim modding for that decade, the ability to attack while airborne.
@@vitriolicAmaranth So true, i've been modding for 6 years now, and changes within the last 2~3 years were so drastic. Back when FNIS was considered the most cutting edge framework in the modding community, i had to cope with freezing animations, clipping, bugs and stuff. 3PCO or something, a 3rd person mod, was extremely buggy and stiff. There wasn't even a single animation mod for TK dodge without rough edges and abrupt stops. Compared to nowadays Dynamic Dodge Animation, DMCO, Infinity Dodge, etc, back then was really clunky. I had exactly 255 mods back then (esl weren't common so i hit my maximum plugin limit), and even with the maximum mod number the game hardly changed for the better. My setup before 2021 was just a vanilla+ skyrim with better graphics, slightly better AI, a few new animations, and more items.
I owe you a BIG word of thanks for putting out these videos of selected mods to use together in different categories, and for making them very easy to install by linking your modlist and load order. I have been using quite a few of them to build my new modlist with, and it all seems to be working very smoothly so far. I chose to also follow your video on community shaders with all of the new add-ons. I teamed it with Azurite Weathers 2, and it looks pretty amazing! I like it because it gives me a lot more fps to use on other mods for larger cities, textures, and animations. Again, thank you!
Excellent showcase and explanations man! I look forward to playing my favorite game when I get home, Mod Organizer 2: The Nexus Download Queue Strikes Back. Jokes aside, I'm pretty excited to implement these and show them off to my friends once I get everything up and running.
This is the best video ever, thank you so much friend! The simple fact that you provided the updated link for MCO DXP would be awesome, but you offered us your modlist (with a dedicated combat tab and links!) and great tutorials, great explanations, and great choice of mods as well.
I really wish there were more 1st person combat mods, and just general gameplay elements just imagine Skyrim with the gameplay of mordhau or dark and darker, would be great. Nonetheless great video and very informative. All love ❤
There are. You don't need to go into third person at all. Just Google first person combat overhaul Skyrim. There are a number of perfect first person overhauls for everything from horse riding to eating to sleeping and especially combat.
I just went with CFPAO, blade&blunt, precision, camera noise, No BS projectile dodge, and elden parry. All the 3rd person combat mods require way too much 3rd party programs and patches, beside they look too clunky for my taste...also some are way too much anime-style
@@ellvis94 That covers combat. What about the rest? There's an Immersive First Person... something mod... Can't remember the name. It should cover most other things.
@@davidcopperfield5345 because nowadays most people don't actually care about first person combat in skyrim, it's as simple as that, maybe in the past, but with better third person cameras, better gameplay controls in 3P and mods like MCO, most people like combat in 3p, and 1p is only for immersion or to see things closery, i'm basing this on the current player base and nexus downloads, cause all combat mods that i've seen someone play are based on Dark Souls, and all have hundreds of thousands if not millions of downloads
Great video Soft Gaming! I really enjoy your videos. And i have a suggestion, bring more videos about immersion and quality of life in the game. Game mechanics overhauls, that brings modern RPGs mechanics to Skyrim. Like a The Witcher 3, Dragon's Dogma, Dark Souls, Modern Assassin's Creed, etc. Honed Metal and convenient horses is a great exemple. Sorry for my bad English.
Hey! Just wanted to say, thank you for taking the time to make this video, and linking all of them in the description. It took me while to set up, but man was it worth it!
I mean this is modding, just get a mod to make the AI harder, deal more damage, smarter, or find out mods that can actually make the AI peform the attacks like the player, there's thousands of mods, i'm sure you can find a combo.
I use imperial animation pack SCAR for Npcs fighting style, combat pathing revolution, organic faction and organic faction extension so factions in Skyrim are more organized, powerful and smarter, knockback and stagger remastered, power attack knockout, Lawless and more enemies mods. Now I'm getting my ass kicked and have to work hard to get those powerful modded weapons so I can survive. You can even add in some poise mods like Loki's Poise but that's going to make Skyrim into Sekiro level of difficulty.
Here's the thing: this mod list to overhaul the combat IMO is probably the best you're gonna get at this time for Skyrim. However, one aspect is fundamentally broken due to multiple factors: the dodge mods. What do I mean? Well the three dodge mods listed: "TK dodge RE, The Ultimate Dodge or DMCO" all have issues and they are as follows: 1. TK Dodge This mod no longer works correctly with True Directional Movement. TK Dodge is hard-coded in a way that conflicts with other mods and as a result when combined with TDM you can either no longer dodge left and right or you can only dodge forward. I've seen many posts about these issues on Nexus and Reddit, but I have yet to find a concrete solution. 2. The Ultimate Dodge Mod This is not an issue if you're a K&M user but for all controller users, console, PC or otherwise will have one major problem. You cannot effectively rebind the dodge key. By default, it's bound to clicking the left thumbstick which as you might already know is how you sneak in the game which means you have to rebind sneak to something else which also causes problems... That said, the cool dodge animation mod shown in this video doesn't work well with TDM. 3. DMCO This is the most functional of the three and IMO should be the one that you use for K&M and controller users. Why? It actually works and works well! Two minor issues though... Since DMCO has been updated in the last 6 months, it no longer functions with the aforementioned dodge animation mod. This is an issue because IMO and many others, the default animations look the worst out of the three mods. The dodge roll doesn't really suit Skyrim so you're forced to use the step dodge which looks a little odd... It sort of makes you look like a Looney Tunes character like Wile E. Coyote trying to step over land minds or something lol. As I said before, minor issue but it does look the worst out of all the dodge mods by far and you can't fix it by using the superior animation mods so... And keep in mind, all 3 of these dodge mods require multiple other mods in other to function correctly! You will see guides and more info on the mod pages discussion board. At this point in time, it's tedious and annoying to try and get to work correctly with other mods, unfortunately...
I love blacks too!!! I really like that they're not so anime style and are pretty believable. Many based on Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Origins. I was subbed to his pareon even for a while. But he releases them all for free on Nexus, at least last I checked like a year or so ago.
The thing about combat overhauls like MCO and SkySA is that compatibility with Animated Armory is a bit sketchy, and that's a mod I can't play without that this point. Even Precision doesn't work perfectly with it. A combination of Elder Souls - Sweep Attack and Realistic Melee Range is fine for me.
i love the fact that Skyrim has so many mods and so many re-releases that ended up actually updating the game's system that you can full on make it a fully playable game in 3rd person, good luck trying to do the same for older Bethesda games like Oblivion tho, better play those on 1st person most of the time 😂
Any plans to create a Wabbajcak modpack? Considering the amazing mods you use and review, and how stunning your visuals and gameplays looks, I'm sure that modpack wouldn't only be absolutely brilliant but also one of the top downloaded ones.
I saved this video so I can go through it later. I'm pretty happy with combat, but I was wanting a new animation package. Also the newest MCO has dual block built in. Just move it to the bottom of your load order.
This looks cool. The last time I got into Skyrim modding it seems people only wanted to turn it into Dark Souls. This looks more fun. I'm worried about all the hotkeys though, because I'd prefer to play with a gamepad.
I'd really love to know how you made Precision, TK Dodge RE and Dynamic Dodge work together. No matter what I do Nemesis just refuses to generate a behavior patch. At least if I do what the mod description tells me to do.
Im really not satisfied with my current combat setup. There are too many bugs and discrepancies. Will clear my whole combat section and try your setup instead!
I was trying to avoid bothering you with this, but I have totally failed with making dynamic dodge work. Do you by chance have a text or video tutorial of how to get it going?

I do not know why but all these mods like Skysa and Disastr mod all feels a little bit wierd and strange to me.Like the attack looks redicoulsly fast for example also there is something like purple aura around my character when i do swing i do not know why. Hey, very very great video you got there. I have a question to ask, is there any way to you to show your load order that combine your UI+HUD and combat overhaul? I'm new to modding skyrim and have no idea how to set the load order. Thank you
I have no idea what I am doing. I installed the mods. But my game looks nothing like this not even the animations. I sware I installed the right mods but it doesn't really seem to work. If anything it feels more buggy than ever.
i don't know what was the problem of my nemesis because i download the valhalla and the requirments for the valhalla and the distar attack animation was not showing in my nemesis is there any way to fix this i need really help, i clear all my mods and uninstall my skyrim and reinstall it and i'm using vortex and clear the nemesis cache folder again and again but it still not reading the valhalla mod and it still no distar attack animation in my nemesis engine (sorry for my english) Edit: i Just recently fix it the reason was i don't have attack mco dxp why i ignore this requirment because the website was closed and i found the new website and now my problem is solve and the animation was so good like BDO game
No, just install the one called maxsublock, its the first on the list. Bear in mind, it has a soft incompatibility with Valhalla, it makes Valhalla’s timed block behave a bit weird

Ashes of war mod isn't doing anything, please help
This is awesome, is there any chance of an xbox version? I really want to go through Skyrim again but struggling putting a working mod list together
hey man, how can I do a roll dodge? I'm only able to do step cancel and side dodge. Thx for your videos, i am learning so much!
Hey, very very great video you got there. I have a question to ask, is there any way to you to show your load order that combine your UI+HUD and combat overhaul? I'm new to modding skyrim and have no idea how to set the load order. Thank you
That's all in here ua-cam.com/video/msreiell7qE/v-deo.html
I have no idea what I am doing. I installed the mods. But my game looks nothing like this not even the animations. I sware I installed the right mods but it doesn't really seem to work. If anything it feels more buggy than ever.

Is there any way you could do a full tutorial to installing your modlist?
I am making a wabbajack that people can easily install
@@SoftGamingOfficial When can i expect to see it?
is there a setup install package Or big zip file of the game? i want your version
do u think joysticks will be more suitable for this kind of gameplay?
I see alot if people using this mod doing a back flip how do you do that???
what's the mod to make the combat third person look like that?
I (with a low end PC that can't run hyper modded skyrim) refuse to believe this is Skyrim
Dude, any idea how to install the Maxsu Block Overhaul in Vortex? There are 3 rar files, do I need to intsall the 3 of them?
No, just install the one called maxsublock, its the first on the list. Bear in mind, it has a soft incompatibility with Valhalla, it makes Valhalla’s timed block behave a bit weird
Attack mod requires DAR it says. But now OAR has been released which is maybe same but new. So will attack mod work with OAR.
Hi yes OAR works and is the better option
