This was a great comeback for the show. Fox was probably kicking themselves for cancelling it, only to have Comedy Central bring it back with 4 amazing feature-length movies.

eh, I liked the movies but I didn't love them. There were several moments that stuck out to me because they seemed more like family guy jokes than the brand of humor I'd gotten accustomed to from the previous four seasons. I noticed flanderization of characters like Zoidberg, Farnsworth, and Hermes, and a lot of "haha look we made a reference it's funny because it's culturally relevant for now" type humor. It's hard to put my finger on exactly what was so "off" about it, but I think that might be it. The timing felt off, too. Like it was just hammering in a bunch of jokes as fast as possible instead of weaving together one or two really good jokes. Another complaint I've seen is how Lars' timeline ruins the impact of the fate of Fry's dog, but in the show's defense, Fry is his own grandpa. It's not like any of that made sense anyway. I forget at what point tattoo-less fry branches off from Lars' timeline, and it still confuses me that Lars was doomed while that fry, that was a copy of Lars (whom I'd thought was the original Fry), got to live on. So far, my top 3 episodes are Roswell that Ends Well, The Sting, and Parasites Lost
