When we think of the best schools in the country, what often comes to our mind is privately funded large institutions that cater to every need of their pupils. We rarely consider how a grassroots movement can also create the best school of the country. To tell us more about this, we have a visionary and social change maker who has dedicated many decades of his life towards public good. Bhatu Sawant tells us the story of how Signal School was conceptualized, the many struggles that came along the way as well as how through sheer will power and perseverance, the school empowers third generation beggar kids and is turning them into contributing high earning members of the society. He also tells us of the many real-world learnings the pupils obtain: right from soldering, robotics, woodworking, maths and science, to banking, taxation, life planning and many more. From winning competitions internationally to visiting ISRO, Signal School has truly transformed these beggar kids and turned them into geniuses. जिथे अत्यंत आवश्यक आहे तिथे व्हायला हरकत नाही. तो सिग्नल शाळेचा नवीन एक पॅटर्न तयार होऊ नये असं मला वाटतं. कारण आपल्या सर्वांसाठी असलेल्या शाळेमध्येच ती मुले. शिक्षण घ्यावी व समाजात मिळून मिसळून वाढावी आणि त्यांची प्रगती व्हावी ही इच्छा. मात्र आपली जिल्हा परिषद शाळा एवढी पुढचा भविष्याचा विचार करून चालणारी नाहीये... त्यामुळे आपल्या सरकारी शाळेला सुधारून सगळ्या सिग्नल शाळा त्यात विलीन झाल्या तर खूप चांगली बाब होईल...

चांगले प्रश्न विचारले, आणि त्याला योग्य उत्तरे मिळाली...
मुळात सिग्नल शाळा हे सगळ्या बंद व्हायला पाहिजे, जेणे करून सगळी मुले समान पातळीवर शिकू शकतील...
उलट सिग्नल शाळा वाढत आहेत. काही हरकत नाही, फक्त शिक्षणाने हे बदल घडू शकते... तुम्ही तुमचे हे कार्य चालू ठेवा आम्हीही मागे येत आहोत...
