Hello Paul- how many times should you inspect the one part for each of the variables?

You inspect 1 part for all 40 samples reqd of the DOE...

Allen, I have a question regarding the MSA session in your book DOE for 21st Century Engineers: In page 195, you show us an SPC XL Anova results where Repeatability seems to contributes to 48.88% to the total variation, whilist Reproducibility contributes to 0.46% to the total of 49.33%. But in this very page you wrote that actually REPRODUCIBILITY is 10 times larger than Repeatability, and then show us how it can be explained by the operators differences in measuring. I just want to understand how, based on THIS Anova the Reproducibility is actually producing more error than Repeatability. Thanks in advance, keep up the good work. I really enjoyed the read and I will definitely recommend it to other.

Hi there - looking at the page, you are looking at different columns on the results table. It's not easy to explain in a message, but the contribution is based on variances, I'm refering to standard deviation....
