  • Another day, another all-mineral sunscreen I'm reviewing. I don't know why I keep going back to them, maybe it's wishful thinking that I'll find the perfect 100% all-mineral sunscreen for me. Also note, the more I think about it, I believe the dry patches I mentioned may actually be due to my prescription change - I bumped up to 0.1% Tretinoin from 0.04%. so I may actually be going through a retinization again!
    Just remember, YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary). What works for me may not work for you!

    My skin is slightly pinkish? Idk cool or warm but I looked gray after using this one. If only it was not that expensive, i would stop using it in a heartbeat.

    How do you feel about the uncertainty in safety of nano particle spf? I’m having a hard time deciding because I love how this one looks too!!

    • @michxmash
      @michxmash  3 роки тому +3

      I've only tried 2 sunscreens with nano UV filters and the one thing I noticed so far was the sensitization after application, but that could just be a mere coincidence. I do like how they really reduce the likelihood of a cast and with the all organic UV filter one I'm currently trying (very high UVA protection), I find it makes the formula more elegant and not so greasy. I understand the concern about them, especially since that study on the older UV filters came out about how traces of them were found in the bloodstream after generous application and reapplication all over the face and body. For me personally, I do not apply sunscreen like that ever, probably the most is in the summer when my skin is the most exposed but even then I'm not reapplying 2mg/cm2 every two hours. Overall I'd still use them, but am mindful that sunscreen is only the 2nd line of defense when it comes to sun protection.

    The best all mineral sunscreen I tried is Olay mineral sunscreen spf 30. It leaves no white cast and protects my skin well and isn’t greasy. And is affordable. It’s worth a try.

    Would you recommend this to an oily acne prone skin who lives in a very humid land with a lot of mask wearing?

    • @michxmash
      @michxmash  3 роки тому +1

      Depends if you like the glowy finish it will give! Also if you're wearing a mask all the time, the tint will probably transfer.

    Hi Michelle, Can you recommend a mineral sunscreen for dry winter months? It doesn’t have to be 100% mineral, but should work for hyperpigmentation. I’ll save this Skinceuticals sunscreen for the summer. Thanks!

      I'm loving the DRMTLGY Universal Tinted Moisturizer SPF 46! I use it on top of my go-to moisturizer and it leaves me skin looking nice and glowy

      It's so annoying, but if you want you can put a band-aid you use when you wash your face on the corners of your hair or a wig net (:❤

    This sunscreen is expensive and I don't trust its UVA factor. I have known that only white cast protects skin with efficacy. I still want to try it anyways. Excellent review, I like the details, explanation and pics that you share. And your cousin is cute^^

      Unfortunately the highest UVA protecting sunscreens usually feel the worst lol! I've been having good and bad days with the Bioderma one lately.

    Can someone with darker skin use it ?

    • @michxmash
      @michxmash  3 роки тому +3

      The receptionist at my derm's clinic said a lot of their patients with different skin tones like it, but I think the grey undertone will be more obvious if worn alone. It may be more passable underneath foundation since it is quite a skin-like finish. Hope that helps!

    My cousin's response after we tried to remember her full opinion on this sunscreen:
    "Yeah I would've said it was shit lolll"
    Basically she liked it and had no reservations about it - other than the absurd amount I made her apply :D

    Unsure why the overly hyped reviews on this sunscreen, this is one of the worst sunscreen i've ever used.
    Extremely pricey, smells like chemical or wall paint, texture is extremely weird as I felt there are tiny tiny beads rubbing against my skin during application.
    Super oily, I couldn't finish it due to it's horrible scent!!
    Why do people adore this sunscreen i'm confused!!!/????
