Hi @Ultimate DIY thanks for the help. I also found another fix. I just renamed the folder placed it in C: drive and deleted it. Since my corrupted folder was originally in a Hard drive and not in C: folder like yours, i think this can also be used to delete such folders.
This is what worked for me. Scan and repair didn't help. I just cut and pasted the problem folder from the external drive to c: then deleted. Interestingly I had 2 problem folders and both showed 2 parent folders (..) when running dir in command prompt. I suspect this is related to why it was saying folder not empty. Weird.

For what it's worth, I fixed this by adding a text file to the lowest level directory that would not deleted, then deleted the file. I was then I was able to delete the directory. Apparently that also cleared up the corruption.

I think it will either prompt you to fix if it finds something or it will fix automatically. An hour is not much. On some hard drives it takes many hours.
When i select properties on Disk C , click tool , click Check Error Checking , it just show only 1 Scan Drive option , i can not see the " Scan and Repair Drive" . I can not delete my Folder .
if nothing works then try Just use CMD to delete fiel go to location and then type del/f (file name) e.g i want too delete jkl file on desktop .. step 1 open cmd step 2 type cd desktop to come into desktop (note: use * cd .. * to come out frome the foldder and use * cd nextfolder_name * to gointo the folder ) you can go into any folder step by step .. you can see the folder path form the top bar below the menu baar of any folder.. step 3 type comand del/f folder/file name and enter step4 type Y and hit enter.. thanks me later

Tried this. 1st I had no Restart and Repair now option, just a scan now option. Did the scan, no errors found. Issue persists. Any other ideas?

Hi there! Right click on C drive, properties, disk clean-up, clean system files and select all. It should remove the previous Windows install.
I scanned the drive but it could not locate the Corrupt file. Then what to do?

On an old Dell laptop I use for back-up but still functional.
