And TD's, meds, heavies start to scream: "You useless, garbage spotter!; Noob! Report light!" while you spot everyone on the field and none of them shoot the spotted targets. :)
I think there should be only 2 light tanks per team. Would be so much better i feel the same way as you explained. When ever i have 3 other lights in my team i feel like im fighting against other lights in my team who gets the most assists etc..:)
I joke that my 100 is as flat as a pancake but as big as a barn. As soon as I am spotted, every shot hits me. No matter how fast I am going or how much cover I have. The gun also seems to shoot cannon balls: rarely hit and rarely pen.
As LT player I concur.. Nothing more frustrating than spotting enemy after enemy...getting pushed out of position, retreating...and having some yokel yelling LT SPOT You Mor.on! .... yeah.
OMG Armando you are so right. They don’t shoot the Borat or Cromwell rushing you, but they cry like babies when you run away from the fast medium that you are not spotting. I actually don’t mind them using text as much, because you can at least communicate your next move…. I am glad you dropped video of this type. Recently whenever I played light tanks(tier 8&9) my wn8 dropped massively compared to when I play mediums or triangles. Playing Light tanks solo nowdays is quite a pain if you ask me.
When losing a game, people complain about how bad the Lights are, but no one complains about those several top tiers heavy/mediums who die in the first minute of the game.

Hi Skill, when playing a LT there is nothing more frustrating than spotting enemies and no one shooting them, this happens so often now that I hardly play LT's any more. I might take out an ELC now and again, set up for snipping and view range and just sit in a bush. I never fire untill the end game when my HP can count.
For some reason I am extremely struggling with Russki lights (T100 + 432), it seems that the matchmaker penalizes it for some reason and I'm struggling to leave the 20-ish winrate while with others I'm usually well over 60%. Like no matter what, you just end up on the loosing team, even with individually good scores.
This game is like citrus limon - you squeeze from each battle everything you can and go to garage. This game is simple - reacting to the actual situation on map. Enough much and so much.
I am currently grinding field mods for the T 100 and most often the problem is that you get outspotted by Manticore or you get spotted by a cracy EBR…. I have very little good spotting games but do way more damage compared with other lights
I am glad I am not the only one struggling to play lights. The biggest problem I find is that many players dont understabd the dynamic of “you spot, they shoot”. So you spot enemies and they are not even in position to shoot.

One of your best videos, Skill, because it is so honest. I've just bought the LT-100 and have done so-so in it so far. I feel like lights at tier 10 have 3 problems: 1. you are hardly ever alone as a light on your team, so competition is intense and the enmy counterspots are also intense - so you are wise to be very passive at the start. 2. you are normally up against an EBR and they are just so fast that they end up surviving longer than you do. 3. mediums (and some tds) have huge view range at tier 10, so whilst you may outspot them 99% of the time at tiers from 3-8, at tier 9 and definitely 10 they can often spot you. I think maybe the bounty low-exhaust is the best equipment you can have. It just makes you 3% less easy to spot - and that could be vital esp against the meds. I also feel, looking back at your last two games when it was SO hard, there were times when you could have shot and killed or almost killed someone. You didn't for obvious reasons (and it goes against the grain when playing lights), but maybe it would have been better to take the shot and take your chances ducking behind the rock. You are 10 times better than me, but the argument is - well, experience says that they are going to spot me soon and I will probably die, so I may as well pick off something if I get the chance. I dunno, but there is a case for running an aiming device on this tank on the second build (which I have not got the field mods for yet). I am undecided whether to drop 2 or even 3 of the spotting equipments from first to second build - or just go optics, low exhaust and aiming and drop just the cvs. I'll try both.
I tried not long ago make lines for T100LT and for French AMX. It was so nasty and brutal that I gave up. Especially on the lower tiers, where most games are 4 lights in one team.
MM is screwed in many ways not even going to mention the +2, -2 . Maps just arn't big enough these days with mediums having nearly as good spotting range as the lights have..
It's exciting to play BULLDOG and have ELC EVEN and EBR 90 on the team. Something is wrong with this game since at the very beginning of the battle I know, that my teammates need to fcuk up so I can get a decent score...
Yeah.. tough to play lights.. worst part, I’ll start a good spotting map, and mark my starting spot, and sometimes I even tell chat where I’m going, and then another light from our team follows me, or will pull up right next to me in a bush.. they have no clue how to support by splitting our positions for best coverage…. Or, like on your Glacier game, your fellow 100 LT, camped in the back the entire game.. at least if they camp, they won’t get in your way I suppose
I understand your point of view, but I fill your fear to play trololo when it´s needed , about last battle the team was not there and left the flank get destroy by snipers on hill you should have spoted. That my point of view.
As a light tank enjoyer I must admit that apart from perhaps 13 105 which has that clip potential, they are pretty much unplayable solo. It however changes in platoon with literally one Grille or other sniper TD or medium. I recommend to find yourselves a TD friend as I did
With the 100lt on track this month there have been many Russian lights in the games. It has been hard. Once I grind an alternative setup on field mod I am adding a damage setup because this gun can troll you without vstab or improved aiming.
I consider myself a good light tank player and biggest struggle to me was getting good maps... There are like 7 maps where i can play well with light tank and even when you get a good map it is not guaranteed you you will get lucky with team. Like getting malinovka with 1 or 2 TD on the team, like getting 3 other light tanks to compete with on your and enemy team. I doubt WG will do anything about that, but at the very least they could place minimum of 1 and maximum 2 light tanks per team.
light game play is nothing like it used to be . you have to stay in the lines of fire for you team and only extend a little vision at a time giving your team time to focus and eliminate 1 or 2 tanks at a time . all the spotting positions are now useless due to reckless counter spot and blind fire .
on current (HT corridor) maps there is no engouh space for more than 2 lights in most cases... when you are playing without filed mods (2nd equipment setup) on LT you are almost useless everytime... tier 6 MM there is often 6 LT per team...nuts... also that WG gave us T50-2 and vk28-105 and Super Chaffe didnt help in any way...
The game's a lot more chaotic these days. 60% or more of my game's are in lights: time & again, your 'team' simply don't respond to spots. They don't take the useful positions. They don't look in the right direction. You think you have back-up & you have nothing. Then you get Ensk again.
Has anyone has crazy LT imbalances lately? I was playing t6 and i was the only LT verses _four_ LTs. They weren't in a toon, there were just four of them. They ripped me apart.
Heh, yeah. T6 is a funny one though, since at that tier light tanks can fill the medium tank role really well IMO. Compared to meds at that tier, they've got pretty sizeable HP & guns. Take Type 64 for example: you could play it like an overpowered e8 sherman if you want to - same gun, same gun depression, far better everything else. Or take an AMX 12t: it's not got the highest DPM in the planet but it's got roughly the same gun as a vk3002m but with a 4 round autoloader, while also being stealthy and fast.
There should be as many good maps for lights as there are city maps. Otherwise the class has no place in the game. No other class is punished so much by the map, forgetting arty as a class.
So I’m not the only experiencing this. Get into a bush, spot a ton of people, and no one is in a position to shoot. Or you’re competing with 2-3 other lights for spotting. Or you get yo-loed by some knucklehead and get killed early. Or your team just sucks and you lose 15-5.
WG: Limited arty, made the matches feel a bit less terrible Light tanks : there's 4 of us and it's like Ranked all over again, and we're probably going to get each other killed just to get spotting!
This is a struggle cuz WG keeps buffing heavies for no reason. Imo that causes more heavy players fighting in areas where lights are useless and once they win the flank the game is pretty much over with them pushing. Not much you can do
There are so many really bad Light Tank maps. - Berlin, Empire's Border, Ensk, Himmeldorf, Mountain Pass, Paris, Pearl River, Glacier, Airfield And many really hard ones, where you struggle to have a great game - El Halluf, Studzianki, Siegfried Line, Serene Coast, Ruinberg, Cliff, Fjords, Lakeville, Overlord Especially at Tier10, where everyone has maximum vision, 1400 shell velocity and can snap you with no problems it is hard. Love lights, but my Tier X winrate is abysmal in every light i have.
I struggle to do mission 15 for obj 260 with light so many times ( with ELC or LT432 ) i do it with HWK 30 in studzianski …. Its just about time till all planets alings & the mission are done
I suspect we get so many LT's in battles because a lot of people, like me, have come to prefer to play LTs rather than the Med / Hvy "banging each other with gold" game. What would be cool is if we keep getting a lot of LTs is to organise as an aggresive hunting pack of fast moving lights...
Heh I have been trying to complete campaign where you have to spot 6x enemies before they spot you, but it is today very hard to accomplish. Because of teammate light tanks, almost in every game are EBRs they will spot enemies always before you can, or there are other lights that will spot also some enemies before you have the chance to spot them, so this is the situation I agree.
I think the problem are light tanks can only spot and cannot do damage without getting spotted (most of the time). Take world of warship for example. Class destroyer ships are LT in wows, they have torpedos. With torpedos they can deal damage whithout getting spotted. And because of that the more destroyer your team have its not bad at all infact its better and because wows map is large. WG need to come with something that not game breaking and fun for LT to deal damage without getting spoted. Maybe just maybe LT can plant land mines? The thing is HT and MT player will hate it because it can be toxic. Btw, is just my pov and again thanks for the video skill, baboon out!
Or just increase the camouflage after shooting, LT dpm and penetration is not that high either. Or something fun like LT can spawn infantry that shoot RPG, that way we have counter play to shoot at the infantry and we know where was the LT general location.
I love light tanks but I can't play them anymore. The player base has changed dramatically over the past few years and the ones that suffer the most are the light tanks. It's a support class, it's there to support the team but in return it needs the team to support them and that just doesn't happen anywhere near as much as it used to. Ideally WG will look at giving some minor buffs to light tanks so they can do a bit more damage and use their stealth to get into positions that let them do that damage quickly. Their lack of armour and hit points would be the balancing factor for that.
Skill, go down to tier 8. I recently started to play EBR 75 and almost 90% of battles there is 3-4 lights on both teams (1-2 amx elc+1 wheel+random light). Competition is crazy and regular tracked lights outpowered.
3weeks ago I tried to to get my Derp gun T49 3rd mark. After fight with RNG, finally I was in Malinovka with 93.7% ,after I settled at typical bush, I realized just one TD behind me and rest guys start to capture the base. Three more mins later we won the game, and I finally got 970 total damage.
With this tank it's happening to be in the perfect position and using bond vints and bond optic with CVS combine it with five crew skills even though you are not able to spot enemy light tanks before thay spot you I swear it's happening to me not one or two it's happening it so many times I love this tank but I think it's outdated
In my last 20 random map battles with T100LT it's been 1 game on a open map, about 6-7 battles in city and the rest in corridor maps. Most of the time it's 3 LTs per game.. I only got decent spotting on the large map 30vs30 mode battles, which I get about 20% of the time. So yeah it's pretty bad playing LTs nowadays. You basically have to play multiple bad matchups before you get one that you can have meaningful play.
LT100 is really a pain at the moment. I dont know why, but it just dont works and this is the max camo build. I feel out spotted in every game. Litttle bit too aggressive and dead under 5min. Best play is to keep passive at the start and use the mid and endgame. wait until enemy lights are all dead.
Today i finished tier 5 chaffee to mark. I have to play 92 games for 3 marks and only because from the last 30 games i had 25 with 6 lights per team. And lets see what u could do when in enemies team are two 13 57 în platoon or two vk lights with derp guns...
i really hate the 3 and 4 lights per team mm. i just recently got my t54 and am grinding towards t-100 and its a nightmare. the moment i see 4 lights per team , i know at least 2 of them are going to go into the same spot that i pinged on the map, and im just left trying to find some damage to do because there is nothing to spot. and in the same time when im not playing light tanks i never see 4 lights per team
Got my spttingrecord on this map, 14 500 spotting + a few hundred dmg. Was in my T8 chinese light, before cvs and nonsens. Was the only tier 8 with 14 tier 10 tanks in each team. Good old times! Now a day they should really limit lt to 2 tanks.
The tank is amazing, but you need to use its gun to reach its full potential. Skill didn't want to shoot people at all in these games. The passive spotting meta is long gone.
In the past, I liked playing lights. After EBRs entering the game, I started not top enjoy them any longer. Luckily Borat was introduced into the game. It is a good alternative with way more options.
Have the same problem nowadays, 2 years ago I loved Lighttank play nowadays I get f so many times. Doesn't matter what tank tier 8 or higher same problems.
This video is full of emphaty to all of us who enjoy playing light thanks. There is 4 games ful of crap and than all of a sudden there is just great one which really makes your day! It is worth playing for such a games
Man I got the LT-100 and got like 83% winrate and never touched it again. Playing light tanks is so hard to me and I just got lucky these first like 10 games, winning most easily, with Ace tanker and everything.
WG: Hello players, we do see light tanks are taking the most popular played tanks position. So we decided to adjust their camo to behave like meds, and we adjusted all light tank dispersion +50%. We will soon introduce a tier 9 premium light tank who retains camo on the move and has accuracy of Swedish destroyer, just this light tank would have that on the move. :D
The struggle IS real, at least today I had nice session (terrible session for skill score-wise :D) and got first MoE on HWK 30. But playing against 2 ELCs or EBRs is pain
You need like 15 bans nowdays in the current map rotation. The reworks are getting worse and the maps where every tank class can do something are most of the time the old maps.
How can this be when WG is designing all the maps with positions for each specific class in mind. Oh, maybe it's because THAT DOESNT WORK. WG map design team is singlehandedly the most completely inept part of the company.

2 vs 8 LT's the other night. We had meds who got ripped apart... 1 vs 2 on Prok is another.
Why put a limit to 1-2 lights per game? That doesnt bring money in the end of the day. So it’s a no
WG: Limited arty, made the matches feel a bit less terrible
Light tanks : there's 4 of us and it's like Ranked all over again, and we're probably going to get each other killed just to get spotting!
This is a struggle cuz WG keeps buffing heavies for no reason. Imo that causes more heavy players fighting in areas where lights are useless and once they win the flank the game is pretty much over with them pushing. Not much you can do
There are so many really bad Light Tank maps.
- Berlin, Empire's Border, Ensk, Himmeldorf, Mountain Pass, Paris, Pearl River, Glacier, Airfield
And many really hard ones, where you struggle to have a great game
- El Halluf, Studzianki, Siegfried Line, Serene Coast, Ruinberg, Cliff, Fjords, Lakeville, Overlord
Especially at Tier10, where everyone has maximum vision, 1400 shell velocity and can snap you with no problems it is hard.
Very good explain about How to play lights. Very good vid
With tank speed today the maps are WAY TOO SMALL!
Three more mins later we won the game, and I finally got 970 total damage.
i have to agree with you every battle 2-4 LT so hard if you on mission too
With this tank it's happening to be in the perfect position and using bond vints and bond optic with CVS combine it with five crew skills even though you are not able to spot enemy light tanks before thay spot you
I swear it's happening to me not one or two it's happening it so many times
I love this tank but I think it's outdated
I remember when they first gave Med tanks better vision than Lights.
Nowdays you need to have either bond equipment or at least improved. This is the only way to outspot other lights, especially Manticors
So true. It’s so true. 100% my man could. It say it better.
24k spotting in a t100lt!
That's why I don't spot, I do and I have a set for dmg ... And I count only on myself ...
And lets see what u could do when in enemies team are two 13 57 în platoon or two vk lights with derp guns...
in some battles playing with a light tank is playing against 29 tanks 😑
yeah, I play with my t54light and it's always 2-3 lights in game, its very very hard to spot something :(
Nowadays I get many tier X battles with 4 lights on each team. I guess light tanks got more popular with equipment 2.0
i really hate the 3 and 4 lights per team mm. i just recently got my t54 and am grinding towards t-100 and its a nightmare. the moment i see 4 lights per team , i know at least 2 of them are going to go into the same spot that i pinged on the map, and im just left trying to find some damage to do because there is nothing to spot. and in the same time when im not playing light tanks i never see 4 lights per team
I did the object260 LT15 mission with this tank, one of my favourite
The tank is amazing, but you need to use its gun to reach its full potential. Skill didn't want to shoot people at all in these games. The passive spotting meta is long gone.
In the past, I liked playing lights. After EBRs entering the game, I started not top enjoy them any longer. Luckily Borat was introduced into the game. It is a good alternative with way more options.
Have the same problem nowadays, 2 years ago I loved Lighttank play nowadays I get f so many times. Doesn't matter what tank tier 8 or higher same problems.
my favourite tank skieeeel yes! so many ups and downs with the map rotation but it never dissapoints me !
This video is full of emphaty to all of us who enjoy playing light thanks. There is 4 games ful of crap and than all of a sudden there is just great one which really makes your day! It is worth playing for such a games
Today I parked ELC even in the middle of the map, kept spotted everybody for like 5 minutes... Had have 400 spotting DMG and lost game 15-2...
There are medium tanks that can do what most light tanks can do
Man I got the LT-100 and got like 83% winrate and never touched it again. Playing light tanks is so hard to me and I just got lucky these first like 10 games, winning most easily, with Ace tanker and everything.
also they should cap the viewrange on other "classes" to 445
mediumtanks with 520 viewrange... WTF
Ive never played lights that much, i find them too map dependant
I feel you . I played like a god t100 to get feeldmods but did not win 2 of 6
These days every Heavy can get up to 470+m viewrange. There is simple no need for light tanks to spot.
T100lt
Me: no
Wg: what why
Me: PANCAKE
WG: Hello players, we do see light tanks are taking the most popular played tanks position. So we decided to adjust their camo to behave like meds, and we adjusted all light tank dispersion +50%. We will soon introduce a tier 9 premium light tank who retains camo on the move and has accuracy of Swedish destroyer, just this light tank would have that on the move. :D
The struggle IS real, at least today I had nice session (terrible session for skill score-wise :D) and got first MoE on HWK 30. But playing against 2 ELCs or EBRs is pain
Thank you!!!!! Nice! Iike light tanks, but some maps are really small😂
sheridan is secretly pretty good if yo play like an extra sneaky med
Game 3 was like most of my games in LT
I’ve been trying to complete LT-15 with honors for months but 4 lights per team sucks balls.
Or you get ally tds that can’t hit anything you spot
omg my favorite light tank in action
ty ty ty kind sir
You need like 15 bans nowdays in the current map rotation. The reworks are getting worse and the maps where every tank class can do something are most of the time the old maps.
How can this be when WG is designing all the maps with positions for each specific class in mind.
Oh, maybe it's because THAT DOESNT WORK. WG map design team is singlehandedly the most completely inept part of the company.
Need smaller teams, maybe 10 per side. More room to move, more room to have fun.
