Yes!! Cyndi Lauper was the perfect choice in 1985(?) and while she and Celine have completely different styles, I feel Celine was the perfect choice here
Hello Travis. The first production of this song was great and this re-make paid tribute to the original and brought it forward with a new generation of singers. Fabulous performance and for a great cause. Great reaction from you as always. Thanks for calling out the names of the artistes - for those of whose who couldn't spot them all!!
A lesson that I learned from this video was to see the people (grown and especially the children) smiling and dancing all while seeing their entire lives and homes destroyed. Having nothing, they still had faith and love for life
I never knew this existed!! OOOHH my gosh! I loved the guy that was singing in Haitian (or whatever its called). Gave me chills. But when Janet came on...your face. LMAO. I cried when you cried becuz I know how much u love her. haaha And then I cried for the whole rest of the damn song just from her and Michael singing together on the chorus. lollll.
The Haitian language is called Creole. And the gentleman singing in Creole is the awesome Wyclef Jean. He was singing Hips Don't Lie with Shakira. Hope this helps! ☺️
i think the rap part was good cause that prove that everyone could joins in even if that didn't really match the song bc of the original that was just about be united
I agree that the song is able to overcome different artists with different vocal abilities and styles, but from a writing perspective the rap verse isn't good.
Awesome reaction, loved your expression when the rappers popped in, yes this version is really different, but it is powerful and it all went together so beautifully. I think this one seems more like it's own song rather than a version, if that makes sense.
I didn’t even know this existed. So I’m seeing it for the first time also. I’m so glad you are saying their names because I’m old school and have no idea about most of them. 🙏🙏 Thank you TRAVIS

You’re reaction to the rap was absolutely hilarious - I literally started cackling so hard at your eyes going back and forth then your head started shaking “no” - omg it took me out & I had an extremely similar one.
@@TeaTimeWithTravisI seriously had tears from laughing. AS SOON as they started rapping you froze and stared - and it took a few seconds but as soon as they were done you got back into it & I am so grateful for the genuine belly laugh. I’m still cackling. 😂
not everyone having a solo was inevitable with so many people. It was the same in the original, and they had less people. In the original Bet Midler, Waylon Jennings, Smokey Robinson, and John Oats just to name a few didn't have solos. but the theme when they all got together was check your egos at the door.
It's called We are the World 25 for Haiti because it took place 25 years after the original. *Looks it up* Yeah 2010, so it's been 13 years now since that took place.
Overall it is a good version. And big props to Wyclef for keeping Michaels contribution. But... damn that was a lot of autotune on everyone who isnt of the same vocal caliber of Celine, Josh, Barbra, Pink, Jennifer and Mary J.
True but that kinda exposed how some of them weren't that great of singers in the original. I do agree the original was better, but you still had artist that felt out of place vocally in the 80s version
I remember being in School, I think 2nd or 3rd Grade, and the Earthquakes in Haiti had happened. If I'm not Mistaken, I think this came out in 2010 Edit: they had to put Michael's part from the 1985 version into the video because as everyone knows, Michael Jackson sadly Passed away in 2009.
4:23 she is guitarist from MJ at concert since long ago look young the name is *Jennifer Batten* , and you can see guitarist santana too in video wear hat
I personally prefer the original USA for Africa version to this one. Both are good but I think that one is a bit better due to the amazing talent involved.
No you're not a baby. Michael was great and then you add Janet! I was crying 😢 too. I'm so glad you did this, I didn't know they did a redo of this song.
I appreciate “What More Can I Give” that’s the real sequel to “We Are The World” Michael Jackson said this was just a terrible rendition personally too much Autotune✍🏽💯(Please React to “What More Can I Give)
You and me = same. I started sobbing as soon as MJ and Janet popped up I agree that choices were certainly made here. The rap section was jarring at first listen but i came to enjoy it. I still could've done without Lil Wayne's solo and the level of autotune for T Pain (i think T Pain could've incorporated it better so i assume he wasn't as involved in the production of his part)
Hey Travis! Putting this on this video. Are you closer to Royal Oak or Kalamazoo? Christmas concerts announced to Patrons. And do you have Venmo? December concerts.
@@TeaTimeWithTravis it's on December 9th. I can afford VIP ticket for you,but I have to Venmo the money. They require ID to pick up ticket at concert. Don't mail them out.
Overall, I liked this but I do agree that the rap part is rather jarring. It just wasn't a seamless transition. I liked that there was a rap section, however, I think it could have been smoother. It just didn't flow in my opinion.
I agree about the rap part, it felt a little forced and didn’t quite fit. I love rap and love LL, but I wasn’t crazy about that part, but I kind of liked Weezy’s part… probably because he was singing. 😁
For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son, sothat those who believed in Him would not peris, but have eternal life. John 3:16 And Love your neighbor as yourself. ❤🙏
Bro bro bro, i just found out "we are the world- chinlung chhuak" cover by mizo, plzz react thatt, i believe u must have goosebumbs,, sooooo niceee man, plzz, react that.
Idk. I don't like this version. Idk why. I just don't. It's a straight up copy. Like a cover. It's a good cause that's not my problem. I hate covers that are straight up copies. I only like covers that make a song there on. My God, they just straight copy and pasted part of this song. Just no. I don't like it all. Ok wait. I just got to the rap part i guess. It makes it so much worse. I just don't like this song. Although its the first time I've heard people sing without auto tune in a long time. But I just can't.
I liked this only because YOU weren't afraid to show your emotion, bro. Other than that I didn't care for this much at all. It makes no sense to me to redo (or remake) this song for Hiatti. It's nowhere close to the original USA for AFRICA. And I'm only hoping that Quincy Jones had nothing to do with this.
Rap is my favorite genre of music but I didn't care much for the rap part. It seemed to almost be cheesy and kind of took something away from the song. I wish I never saw Kanye again.
This cover doesn’t come close to the greatness of the original. The original had one unified sound they all committed to for a common cause. This seemed like a mashup of egos more than anything.
As much as I love the original more, there were definitely personalities that felt out of line in the original. That's what happens when you mix different artists together from different genres.
Celine is killed it
Does she ever not? She’s such a queen!! ❤
@rock_lee3145but very scream not a good melody like Celine tone

There's no shame in crying when seeing Janet and Michael Jackson sing together.
I know, right? I got choked up the first time I saw it.
This was just over 6 months after Michael died.
I'm not crying. we are crying!!

The old version is still the best..legendary singers are in it..
Celine stands out!
I don’t think I saw this updated version. I remember they did it. Awesome!
I'm a big fan of Michael Jackson. I cried when i Saw him. OMG! Straight to the heart!!!

Lmao your reaction on the rap parr is golden 🤣
Jennifer Nettles and Josh Groban did a duet of the song he wrote called 99 Years a few years ago. It’s beautiful.
Thats awesome!
It's the pause for me lol poor baby was so confused
I cry every time I watch this too or hear this song but the original is so much better it's got all the greats
Lil Wayne was so unexpected but definitely welcomed.
My respect for him went up with this. He understood the assignment
I understand what you mean about the rappers BUT I have to say they did their best in this beautiful song - & I'm 63!

I agree with you 100% about the rapping at the end.
80's version didn't require auto-tune
Neither did this one, if you've ever heard T-Pain's real voice. It's a stylistic choice.
This one didn't require it either, it's a style choice
