As a Packers fan I can only imagine how much pain Jordan Love just added to Jets football but I find all of this involving the Jets to be hysterical.
I went to see a Mets game for the first time back in 2018; I remember the game ended with Jeurys Familia blowing a save against the Pirates. An exasperated Mets fan stood up, threw up his arms, and yelled "us Mets fans gotta go to Heaven when we die, right? Because nothing's worse than this!" Seemed on-brand for my first Mets experience.

I’m from KC and I’m a Royals/Chiefs fan. I’ve seen my teams play in 3 super bowls and 2 World Series, seeing the Chiefs become a dynasty and the Royals win back to back Pennants and a World Series the past 10 years. It’s been phenomenal as a KC sports fan. That being said I met Mets fans after the 2015 World Series. Some of the nicest people. I would like to the Mets win a ring soon. Great fanbase.

This is why I gave up being a Jets fan in 2016 and a Knicks fan in 2019 unfortunately and just stuck with the Mets. The mental anguish of rooting for all three at the same time while seemingly every other NY team or other team in general won a title in the last few decades is rough. I always favored baseball anyway. But I hate that especially with the Jets, my decision to leave when I did was phenomenal, like I sold a stock at a great time and every year my decision kept getting better. I was almost considering leaving them altogether but the sale of the Mets to Steve Cohen was perfectly timed. There's been 37 years since the Mets last World Series, 50 years since the last Knicks title and 54 years since the Jets only Super Bowl win. That's 141 combined seasons. I'm in my 20's, and every person I know has experienced winning a championship except me. The worst 3 team title drought in ALL OF U.S. sports is the Mets/Jets/Knicks fanbase. EVERY city/state with three major sports teams has won a title since the most recent Mets/Jets/Knicks title in 1986. That includes NY...but its the Yankees and Giants. It's fucking hell

The ode to the Mets at the end was absolutely perfect. It truly shows what it’s like to be a Mets fan.
My step-dad was a Mets scout in 69 an of course I followed them though I couldn't help falling for the Royals 30 miles down the road the 70s early 80s were good years. I still had place in my heart for the Mets but it felt more like a mistress. So I slowly just stuck with the Royals now I know about loosing since 85 and I can say it's a lot easier forgiving the royals loosing because of the Market they play in. I truly feel for the Mets fans having to see them lose with all the money they have I don't think I could take it. The Jets are something I can't even comprehend its mind-boggling.
When ever you see someone wearing a Mets hat, hundreds of miles from their home in a random grocery store, they have a guaranteed story to tell you. (Even Jerry Seinfeld started up a conversation with some naked Mets fan in a subway once) (Pumba)
God. That Jets Bears game. The first time my father and I had ever gone to a Jets game together in my 24 years. We were on such a high afterwards leaving the parking lot. We were talking about what 3 teams we could definitely beat to get to the playoffs. Then….the Jets reminded us that they’re the Jets.

TheJets sold their soul to win that Super Bowl in 1968 to set up the merger, other teams that seem to fit the bill are the 2002 Angels and 2009 Saints
That 2022 Mets season was so painful to watch. I got back into the sport for the first time in over a decade, I'm finally witnessing my favorite team look like a true World Series contender in the regular season, and after that it's gut punch after gut punch. I remember how pissed I was after the Braves series, and how depressed I was the day after the Padres eliminated the Mets in the WC. The Mets are right back to where they always are: sub .500 ball. (and I doubt that's gonna change this year or next year)

This video really resonates with me and all Mets fans going through the usual cycle of Hype/Hope in the offseason only for disappointment to quickly come in on opening day when the Mets underperform like usual or give us a fake illusion that there a good team only to choke and collapse all in the last minute…. It’s pretty simple. Those teams took advantage of downtimes for the Giants and Yankees, sucked hopeful fans in with early success and now the generational trauma is complete with their abject awfulness. And don’t talk about the 86 Mets. That team should have maybe won a couple more titles but they cared more about strippers and blow.
I mean, the '86 Mets only won because of a major error by Buckner.

Feel your pain. 51 here, only have the 86 Mets to hold onto. Jets, Knicks? Nada. Isles won 4 in row but I think the NY Cosmos were more popular at the time.
What I don’t get is why Mets fans were surprised by Scherzer giving up solo homers. They had plenty of chances to see that when he was a National.

I am a mets and a new york giants fan, in terms of the misery the giants bring a different and unique type, while the jets are forever failures the giants lured me in with super bowls, success, great players and overall a fun team to watch and then proceeded to ruin the rest of Eli manning's career giving him no more super bowls and then transforming into a giant dumpster fire of failure as the years went on.
We got some fluke seasons like 2016 (where Jerry Reece spent like a drunken sailor to try to save his job) and 2022 despite Danny derps being the QB but outside of that just a frustrating team to watch, we are not the jets we should not suck this bad. As for bad decisions Daniel Jones was a big one, we overpicked a bad QB who had only one good season and the rest of the times have sucked or been hurt (and sucked and been hurt).

Since 86 no titles...no nba titles period...seeing the giants and yankees win jesus...rangers in 94..smdh...69 for jets mets have 1 since 70....knicks got 2 period...you got an aba title...in your life time no titles ..the early 80's islanders only the 2nd team in hockey to win 4 in a row...only the yankees celtics canadiens and a pre super bowl era football team have done that...forgot which one

The Mets choking to the Braves was absolutely heartbreaking and the Padres beating us just twisted the knife deeper.
I thought they were doomed the moment game one went badly against San Diego, then I let game two get my hopes up, so I went out for game three and...god, I just stood in that bar and felt numb to it by that point.

As a Yankees Giants Knicks Rangers fans I was born in the 90s and I was blessed enough to see 8 championships in my life time between the 4 franchises. But growing up in New York I wouldn’t have mind to see the Mets Jets and the nets win their respective championships. It’s just if you have the name ETS. You’re just unlucky..
And this doesn't even mention Pham saying certain players were lazy, underperformance by the young rookies for the Mets, the firing of Buck Showalter and replacement with a Yankees bench coach or Billy Eppler quitting due to an investigation into his usage of the IL. I'll be honest, I'm a Braves fan and even I feel bad for Mets fans after what this has become.

I am Boston everything. I love the Celtics, the Sox, I watch the Bruins when they're on even though I'm not a big hockey guy. But for some reason I'm a Jets fan. I could've watched the greatest QB of all time win 6 Super Bowls, but decided that the team that hadn't had any run of success since they won a Super Bowl a full 30 years before I was born was the one I wanted to root for.

I live in Connecticut so I'm in that weird position where I can pick between Boston and NY teams. My Uncle turned me into a Jets and Yankees fan and while 09 was nice I can relate to your suffering with the Jets.

Despite all the suffering, I still love being a Mets and Jets fan. I’d never want to be a Yankee or giant fan. That’s great if you like their history and whatnot, but being a fan of them would feel like taking the east route for me. The Yankees and giants are the more “buttoned up” organizations while the Mets and Jets are like loose cannons. There may be a bunch of embarrassing moments for the Mets and Jets but being a fan is fun and I wouldn’t want to give it up.
I became a New Jersey Devils fan as a kid, so I went with the "underdog" baseball and football teams close by geographically.
