    Dude, you are a LIFESAVER!!!! Your method of using the coat-hanger to get through the firewall gasket worked like a charm (although, I used bailing wire). It was still a B***** to pull the switch wire through, but I would have never thought of that.

    Great job!! I bought this exact kit for my wife’s Corolla and I’ll be following your instructions when I put them on tomorrow. Very straight forward and precise my only question is which fuse did you tap? Looks like the 4th or 5th one from the left but it’s hard to tell? I bought the fuse taps as well.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  3 роки тому

      I want to say it was the 5th spot, but some cars are slightly different with different options. So I would just double check the fuse spot with a volt meter to make sure it only turns on with the accessory power.

      I have been told that the harness that is already in the bumper, can be used. And all you have to do is change the light switch stalk to the one for foglights.
      I’m not sure if that’s how ready it really is, but I have been told by a few people already.

    In Pennsylvania, you need a relay switch installed on the high beam wiring, to turn off the fog lights when the high beams are turned on.

      That’s why I’m lucky to live in Florida. I don’t have any inspections or laws against doing this!

    Looking to instal some all day running lights on my 2010 S do you have a vid on this subject

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  3 роки тому +1

      I don’t have one specific about just DRL. But my fog log video shows how I wire up the DRL’s and the fog lights. It should get you close to what you are looking for. All you will need to do is take the wires from the DRL’s and the ground wire will either go to the battery or a bolt on body of the car. And the positive wire will need to go to a fuse that only turns on when you turn on the car.

  • @jovanndelgado7192
    @jovanndelgado7192 3 роки тому

    I have a question about your DRL did you have any issues with them with how you wired them. I used your video and followed these exact steps. I ended up having a problem with them staying on after I turned off my car. Everything else worked fine.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  3 роки тому +1

      I would make sure whatever fuse you tapped into is the right one. It should only have power when you turn the key on. I would double check with a volt meter to make sure it only gets 12V with the key is on. Otherwise the DRL will stay on all the time.

      -So I used the fuse slot 14 in the indoor fuse box since it says fog light on it. Also I only used one fuse tap btw. I noticed you had two in your video. (Unless I’m wrong about that)
      Overall your video was a great guide. I basically have everything set up down to the wiring like you did on yours. Even the red cable connecting to the ground for the DRL (as you said) along with the blue wire on the bolt (for the Neg. battery side).
      I took it to a shop they told me I May not be able to use it but I should be able to. Hope I can figure this out.
      Btw love your content man. Your videos are super helpful. I’ll be installing my spoiler soon as well and noticed from your channel that you have one I can reference off of.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  3 роки тому +1

      @@jovanndelgado7192 I’m not exactly sure what fuse slot I used. I only looked for a fuse slot that shut off when the key wasn’t in the ignition. And the second fuse tap you see is for my electronic door locks. It has nothing to do with the fog lights. You should only need one fuse tap. Also my car is a 2009 base model. So some fuses might be slightly different since mine is a base model with no accessories.

    Hey i have the factory harness what's the difference putting the harness at came with it, can't you just use the original harness that the car has ?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 роки тому

      My car also had the original harness, but the problem with that is the car doesn’t have the proper switch for them. Which would be the turn signal stalk with fog lights on them. Also the wiring is not plug and play for the switch, I believe you have to add an additional relay as well. It’s much more complicated than just plugging them in. And is easier to just run your own wires and switch!

  • @jnagime

    What about if you use a LED bulbs on the fog lights and connect the fog lights harness directly to the Car Park lights harness,So in this case you don’t need to run on this wires to the battery and inside the car??
