If I may suggest, not for just the windows, but your overall build. Make weather/water proofing your skoolie your number one and most important stepping stone for your build. Concentrate on possible air gaps, dead space, old screws, roof, every seam and even areas that may develop condensation. You won’t regret it and you won’t have to do a “I wished I would’ve video” down the road. I’m sure you guys are still super excited and all giddy about having a skoolie to build you own. But take your time, think ahead of all the “what if’s”. Good luck and looking forward to many more eps. ~Bigs

The HWYLIFE I couldn’t have said it better, Bigs... my process will be uploaded soon. It’s all a learning curve for us first timers. So glad there is a strong community behind all of it !

Vagabond RoBUStico Indeed! One big skoolie nation family 😉 Oh, don’t forget to enjoy the process. People always forget to enjoy it all. It’s so much fun and the wins are so rewarding 😊

The HWYLIFE I admit getting frustrated with forgetting to press record and fumbling over video set up and such but we are loving the process. Side note; we don’t have kids to deal with . That has to add some kind of stress. 😬✊🏽

Thanks for the heads up. We defiantly want to make sure we are not cutting corners in places we are not comfortable with the ramifications of. Especially when it comes to the foundation of our of build. Thanks for following along!

Its a task to focus on something you've never done before like build a school bus and then try to make sure you document what you want and how to want to but it's also a pleasure to watch these videos back months, years later. I wish we made videos when we first started our trip in our FJ but I'm stoked we learned how to do it now.

That is almost a contradiction in terms...working on a skoolie and the pursuit of happiness while working on it. LOL... I've been taking many steps back and relaxing after doing some of my tasks because it can get quite frustrating. In the end though...it will be very much worth it. I'm not there yet, but already i feel so much better. As soon as you showed the caulking and i saw Latex i knew you had the wrong stuff. Need 100% silicone.

Yeah... Its the stuggle between wanting to get it done quick and wanting to enjoy the moments we live.
We did not go with Silicone for a couple reason. We used Polyurethane which is what most vehicles used and worked out very well. along with Butyl Tape.

@@BackroadPurpose this is good to know! We are about to put our windows back in and we planned on using butyl and 3m polyurethane auto seam sealer.. fingers crossed we have no leaks!

I would jus use silicone caulking and flex seal spray. Believe it or not Flex seal works pretty good on alot of things!✌️❤️🤗

We actually ended up using Polyurethane and Butyl Tape and it did great! and then flex seal under the windows on the inside.

I know this is probably just a pet peeve but I feel the need to vent. What does the world have against a good set of sawhorses? It’s so much nicer to get things up at a working height instead of crawling around in the dirt. Ok I’m done now and we can get back to your very enjoyable, informative videos. Thank you.

Hahaha! I totally agree with you! These things are a bit but and bulky to haul around but they are definitely underrated! Thanks for watching man!
