    Great review! I appreciate some of the callouts of the differences between the v1 and this version. Great B roll, as always.

      Great review! I appreciate the detailed comparison between the v1 and this version, it really helps in understanding the improvements made. The B roll footage was indeed impressive! By the way, have you heard about the new project I found? It's called the freebeat Morph 2-in-1 eBike. It offers a unique indoor recharge feature, allowing you to charge the bike while cycling indoors. The Morph eBike combines indoor fitness and outdoor exploration like never before, providing an exhilarating riding experience. The motor provides additional power to augment your pedaling effort, making it easier to conquer hills and cover longer distances. It sounds promising!

    I love my Aventon Aventure 2. I ride my bike everywhere. I have a truck but i have more fun riding my bike. I have so many people wanting to know more about my bike. It's so cool seeing people's reacton cuz they want my bike! 😂

    I loved how you went thru the different gears and commented on how it feels pedaling. So many people are already tooling around at 20 mph on their ebike reviews and I have no impression on the pedaling and different gears. My mom wanted me to promise to never buy an ebike because I am overweight and I want to be able to pedals and use the pedal assist motor for some exercise, while have a blast on a motorized bike.

    The torque sensor will make this bike way more efficient. Maybe they should think about an option in the menu for those who like the characteristics of a cadence sensor. I think with this kind of option, they could get an extremely wide range of customers.

  • @rayrussell6258
    @rayrussell6258 Рік тому +3

    The torque sensor is a drawback for many of us who do not ride for exercise. We are substituting an e-bike for our car, and need more assist from the motor. I like the upgrades on the Aventure2, but am not in favor of taking away cadence sensor. The e-bike should come with both systems, with the ability for rider to switch between the two.
    Also, the need to have an app to get Class3 should be changed. I have a PC in my home, do not have or need a smart phone. Either give us the choice when we order the bike, or allow local shop to set it up as Class3 for us.

    I have been a serious cyclist for well over 40 years riding on road, off road, commuting, and tandem riding with my wife. But now at 63 and having had a hip replacement and still have arthritis in both knees, riding any of my pedal only bikes is not as much fun as it was only a few years ago. I am now thinking about an e-bike. I like what I see in the Aventon Adventure 2 but I also like the Level 2. Most of my riding would be on road or light dirt roads, bike paths, commuting to work, or light touring. Aside from the fat tires being great for eating up the poor roads near our home, do you have any opinion regarding the choice between the 2 bikes? Thanks for the review.

    • @ElectricBikeJournal
      @ElectricBikeJournal  Рік тому +2

      It’s nice that e-bikes can help keep you on the road. The Levels tires should handle light dirt roads no problem, but the Aventure will feel much smoother on those roads. We are also planning on doing a comparison video in the near future as well.

    To the people who have gotten used to torque sensors and like them... Is it so much better than cadence sensors that you'd never spend the money on another cadence sensor bike again? I have two cadence bikes, hub motor and mid drive. Very interested in checking out a new torque sensor bike but have never ridden one.

    I have been doing a lot of reading and just the other day on the Aventon. This bike has
    so many things that a lot of other bikes do not have. Break lights fantastic idea and
    even better that it’s on this bike. Torque sensor again exceptional. Blinkers great there
    really isn’t much that I don’t love about this bike. The only minor point is the battery
    and this should not stop anyone from getting this beautiful machine unless your lazy
    and do not plan on peddling…

      Sometimes people aren't "lazy" and have medical conditions that prevent them from doing hard rides, yet they still enjoy riding bikes. Maybe don't put them down and accept that everyone isn't at the same level and allow them to enjoy the sport without putting them down.

    Very helpful review! I am torn between the Aventure 2 and Level 2. Since you reviewed both, which bike did you end up liking most? For me, my commute will be on paved streets and sidewalks. Is the extra stability/comfort of the fat tire that worth it? Or just superfluous for suburban riding? Keep up the great work!!

    • @ElectricBikeJournal
      @ElectricBikeJournal  Рік тому +1

      Between the two they are very similar. The Level.2 may be a better fit as it's lighter and would be more efficient for the type of riding you're describing. Things we suggest to consider are: overall weight, price, included accessories (fenders, lights, racks, etc.) and maintenance, if you get a flat on the way to work what would be easier to repair roadside or what would be easier to push if you're close enough. Hope this helps, and if you haven't checked it out we have a first ride video up on the Level.2 and have write ups on our website.

    • @rayrussell6258
      @rayrussell6258 Рік тому +1

      @@ElectricBikeJournal none of us carry spare tires, so not sure either is all that more or less repairable on the way to work, really.
      I think quality of ride is a bigger concern, since that occurs every day! I think there are fat tires that don't have the knob pattern, and do have sipes and channels to give better rain traction, so would be better on street.

    Deciding between this and the velotric nomad 1. The frame on the adventon seems short. Watching videos and it looks like if you turn the wheel and you are pedaling your foot would strike the wheel.

I live in a fairly hilly area in new england and looking for easier riding and some exercise. Ultimate goal to use minimal assist. Thanks...any suggestions for me? Thanks.

    • @ElectricBikeJournal
      @ElectricBikeJournal  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching! If you are comfortable with riding in general we recommend a Regular size step over frame. If you plan on getting on and off the bike a lot, that is when step-through becomes really handy. I personally like step through for running errands around town, it makes it easier if you are getting on and off a lot. hope this helps!

    Maybe it's just me, but I care less about the packing materials being recyclable and more about the bike being delivered to my home undamaged. Can the handlebars be raised for a more comfortable riding position? I'm not sure I would completely trust the "turn signals" to be seen by motorist.

    • @ElectricBikeJournal
      @ElectricBikeJournal  Рік тому

      With the bikes we have received with recyclable packaging we haven't had any damage. With the amount of plastic in a lot of other bikes, it is good to see an alternative. Having the turn signals is just another way to enhance being seen, but yea, not all motorists pay attention.

    We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
