Create a normal layer below the high-frequency layer and use an eye dropper and minimal flow paint brush to blend abrupt differences in tone and color. Don’t overdo it though. The image is a living person not a mannequin.
Hi Michael, Thanks for the tutorial, very informative, Just for 16 bit image, don't we use Scale 2 and Offset 0, in the tutorial the image is 16 bit I think and shouldn't it be on scale 2 and offset 0? Thanks a lot and Good luck!
Thank You! I tried doing this following another tutorial, but it didn't work. I see now after watching yours there were a few steps I missed. Great tutorial!
Thank you for the tutorial. I'm still looking for and answer, though: after I select the area to blur, instead of blurring, the gaussian blur makes the skin darker it looks like a birthmark. What should I do?
hi , my friend if your photo 16 bit you use add-scale 2 and offset 0 but if it 8 bit you use the subtract , scale 2 offset 128 , this is standerd. thanks

My workflow is very much the same, save for the use of the Alien Skin plugins (I like the result, perhaps I should). I do, however, also use Highlights and Shadows adjustments post-D&B.
Excellent tutorial, takes the viewer over the various steps in a very understandable way. The technique is really effective. Congratulations!
